Chapter Twenty-Seven #2
“Like that?” said Dustin.
“Yes! God, just stop talking and do it again.”
He did it again. Elliot moaned. The feel of it all happening all at once was like nothing he’d ever felt. “I wanna try again,” he gasped. “The thing we did before, can we try it again?”
Dustin paused. He stopped what he was doing and climbed around to kneel between Elliot’s thighs. “Try what again?”
Elliot squirmed. “You know.”
“If you can’t say it, I don’t think you get to do it,” said Dustin. Elliot glared at him, and he returned it with a firm look. “I don’t wanna hurt you.”
“You won’t, I can do it.”
“Roddy, you don’t have to prove anything. No one’s competing with you. There’s no Stanley Cup for getting your ass fucked. If you like this, why don’t we do this?”
Elliot gazed down at Dustin’s cock, sticking up out of his waistband.
Part of him wanted to find out what it felt like inside him now he knew there was a button in there that made animal noises come out.
But part of him was terrified. He’d said that morning after he cried that he’d never do it again, and he’d meant it.
Dustin was watching him closely. A look went across his face that was firm and decisive. “No,” he said. “We’re not doing it.”
“What?” Elliot pushed up on his elbows.
“We’re doing this.” Dustin’s head dipped and his beard brushed Elliot’s thigh. “You like this. Lie down, please.”
“You’re such an asshole. Why?”
Dustin’s eyes came up. They were dark with amusement and crinkled at the corners. “Because I’m the grownup,” he said. “And I said so.”
And he slipped his finger back inside as he took Elliot in his mouth again.
Elliot swore and sank back into the couch.
He did his best not to writhe and moan as Dustin worked him with his mouth and fingers, because he didn’t want to give Dustin the satisfaction of thinking he was right.
But it was impossible. Dustin was right.
He did like this. He was desperate for it. Had been for weeks.
Dustin worked him like that until Elliot was so wild with need he was thrusting into his mouth, and then, when he was certain he couldn’t take a second longer, he stopped.
Elliot gasped, furious, as his mouth and finger disappeared, and then he felt Dustin slide his tongue flat and wide down the whole length of his shaft…
and then lower…and lower. He looked down as Dustin’s eyes came up.
“Is this okay?”
Wordlessly, Elliot nodded. Dustin smiled and kept going, pulling Elliot’s sweats down and pushing his thighs apart. Elliot watched, tipping up his hips, and then Dustin was spreading him open, and then his tongue was in Elliot’s asshole.
“Oh my Go–” Elliot’s head tipped back and his legs spread wider.
“Okay?”
“Yes – fuck–”
It was so much more than okay. It was unbelievable. The warmth and wetness of Dustin’s mouth, the scratch of his beard…
“Your beard,” he gasped.
“Is good?”
“Yes. Holy shit. It’s – oh fuck – it’s so good.”
Dustin wrapped his hand around Elliot’s cock and kept going with his tongue and finger. Elliot was aware that more totally unhinged sounds were coming out of him, and he didn’t fucking care. He felt exposed and vulnerable and terrified, and it was so fucking hot.
In less than a minute, he was pretty sure he was going to come, and his hand shot up to brace against the sofa arm as the other sank into Dustin’s hair, and he came so suddenly he didn’t even have time to warn Dustin it was happening.
His hand fisted tight to keep Dustin still as the first pulse shot out and went God only knew what direction.
“Jesus,” Dustin breathed. “Jesus, Roddy, it’s going fucking everywhere.”
“I know,” Elliot moaned, eyes squeezed shut, one hand braced against the sofa arm as he helplessly spurted. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry, it’s so fucking hot.”
Seconds later Dustin’s tongue and finger went away, and Elliot heard him furiously pounding himself over the edge as well.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Dustin aiming his release at Elliot’s stomach to join the absolute swamp Elliot was already making.
When they were finished, he sank back on his knees and they sat there staring at each other. Dustin looked around at the mess.
“I guess I’ll get a mop.” He looked at Elliot. “And a bucket.”
Elliot managed a single dry laugh and closed his eyes.
Dustin got up and Elliot heard him go barefoot to the kitchen and fill a glass of water. When he came back he wiped Elliot down with something substantial – bath towel? Beach towel? Circus tent? – and then the couch creaked as he sat beside him.
“Here.”
Elliot opened his eyes and took the glass of water. He sat up on one elbow, finished half, and handed it back to Dustin.
“You were right,” he mumbled, lying down and closing his eyes. “That was the right call.”
Dustin sounded only slightly smug as he said, “I know.” Elliot opened one eye to give him a sassy look as Dustin finished the glass of water, then put it on the coffee table. He put his feet up beside it and leaned back, picking up Elliot’s feet and putting them in his lap.
They sat quietly in the sun coming through the big window until Dustin smirked and said, “I can’t believe my Instagram turned you gay.”
“Shut up!” Elliot kicked him.
“You know what’s actually hilarious? I’m pretty sure your Instagram turned me bi.”
Elliot narrowed his eyes. “So you’re saying we’re tied.”
Dustin laughed. “Probably don’t need to turn that into a competition – who can thirst trap the most hockey players and turn them queer next season.”
“Why not? Because you’re gonna lose, Abuelo?”
Dustin pinched his toe. “Alright, easy, Amigo.”
Elliot’s chest squeezed. He closed his eyes and felt the warmth of the sun on his face, and for the first time since July, he thought, This. This is how it’s supposed to be.
Then, suddenly, Dustin sat up.
“Oh shit!”
Elliot opened his eyes. “What?”
“Shit shit!” He threw Elliot’s feet out of his lap and jumped off the couch.
“What?”
Dustin shoved his hands into his hair and looked at him. “We’re supposed to be driving Jordan to the airport!”
They made it to the airport in the literal nick of time.
Jordan said a hurried goodbye and told Elliot to call him if he needed anything, and Dustin told Jordan that Elliot wasn’t in charge.
Jordan hugged both of them, and although he didn’t say anything, Elliot was sure he knew exactly what was going on.
Weirdly, he wasn’t worried about it – weirdly, it was nice.
His phone buzzed as they pulled onto the highway. He tapped it open to a call from Reef. His stomach turned over as he remembered the text, and he put the phone to his ear.
“Hey Reef.”
“Brooo.”
“How’s it going?”
“Training. Crushing. When you coming back to Tampa?”
Elliot sighed and looked out the window. He hadn’t even thought about it. “Couple weeks.”
“Cool, cool. Miss you dog. Ready to get back on the ice.”
“Yeah. Same.”
“You see about this queer thing?”
Elliot’s heart jolted. He looked over at Dustin. “What?”
“They’re making us all do fag training because of Arsenault – same thing we had to do rookie year, except now we have to do it every year, or six months or some shit. Because we’re all supposed to be holding hands in the locker room and sucking each other’s dicks, I guess.”
Elliot sat with the phone to his ear, staring at Dustin.
“Fucking unbelievable,” said Reef.
Dustin, frowning at him, mouthed, What? Elliot couldn’t speak. Reef had knocked the wind out of him, and all he could think about was the day he’d said that word to Dustin in the locker room, and the look on Dustin’s face when he did.
Dustin checked the road and looked back, and held out his hand. Elliot frowned at it.
“Give me the phone,” said Dustin. Numbly, Elliot handed it over, and Dustin put it to his ear. “Reef? Yeah, Dustin Bennet. What’s going on?”
He put on the blinker and changed lanes while Reef said whatever he was saying. Dustin’s jaw squared. He looked at Elliot.
“And that’s a problem, is it?” he said. “Uh huh. Right. Listen man, I think you need to get over yourself and grow the fuck up about this. Yeah, seriously. No, it’s actually pretty fucking offensive.
Yeah, and actually, while we’re here, I wanna let you know that your behavior, with the drinking and the arm wrestling and the waking up in Spain…
yeah, that shit is not gonna fly much longer.
Well you’re not that good, are you? Uh huh. Alright. Fuck you too. Okay. Bye bye.”
He hung up and held the phone out. Elliot stared at it. He took it back and put it in his lap, and sat for a long time while he processed what just happened.
“I don’t think I wanna be around that guy anymore,” he said.
Dustin nodded. “You don’t.”
They went to Force, where Dustin was scheduled for a session with Tom. Elliot walked to Elaine’s while he was there to get a smoothie and try to put his thoughts in order. He found a table in the sun and called Diego.
Diego was yelling at Renata as he picked up. Elliot waited for him to finish.
“Sorry, bro. Sorry.” Diego sounded frustrated. “How is it?”
“Good, man. You?”
“Tss, I dunno dog. Whatever, she’s leaving. Yeah, I heard you! Okay! Byeeee!” A pause. “This fucking guy again?” He came back. “Whatever, it doesn’t matter. Yo, when are you coming back to Tampa?”
