17. Chapter 17
Jinny
“Y ou...you seriously want to get married?”
He’s straight with me. “We’ve established that neither of us can have kids, that we’ve been in love with each other since high school, that we’re both madly in love with each other now, I don’t see what’s stopping us.
And I don’t want to call you my girlfriend, because, in your words, that’s bullshit. ”
“You’re...serious.”
“Dead serious. If you want, we can go to a fucking Justice of the Peace today.”
“What is the urgency? Also, where the fuck would we live? I’m not giving up my house and my pool, and you’re going to open your business at your house, so how the fuck is that going to work? We’re going to be the most fucked up married couple ever.”
He’s silent for a beat as he mulls it over. “What if I hire the architect to design something for here?”
“Like...in my house?”
“Yeah.”
“No. I don’t want that shit here.”
“So, I hire her to design me something on the parcel of land I bought instead.”
“What were you going to do with the land if you didn’t build on it?”
“Real estate is the smartest financial investment a person can make. The parcel I bought is in a prime industrial location. I could have sold it down the road for multiple times its worth.”
“But...I thought that your dream was to build the office at your house.”
“The dream was to have the business. Period. Not to work with my family anymore. I hired the architect to design something at my place initially because I didn’t have the collateral then to buy a parcel of land and do it there.
But that was a long time ago, and I have the resources now.
And now that my brother fucked the architect, and she’s a well-established architect, things have changed. ”
I chuckle, covering my mouth with my hand. “Your brother fucked her?”
His face changes. He’s squirming a little. “I told you about this?”
“Maybe you did but tell me more. Which brother?”
“Can we focus here, please? Do you want to fucking marry me or what?”
“We haven’t established a few keys details here, Led.” I sit up higher. My tit peeks up from under the blankets. “Where would we live?”
“Here.”
“You want to live here.” I check, my voice is flat. “Like, with me? In this house?”
“Is it not big enough? I think you can fit a fucking yacht in your front foyer, Jinny. What’s wrong? Are you afraid I’ll make you move your fucking antique piano?”
“That goes nowhere. I’m not changing a fucking thing.”
He sits up higher in bed, his voice raises. “I get the feeling that this is more than about you changing your name. You seem very territorial about your house.”
My voice raises an octave. “So? What’s wrong with that? Do we have a little role reversal going on here? Do we have to live together?”
“Do you not want to live me?”
“Maybe I do...maybe I don’t.”
He mulls that over for a minute. “How about this. I keep my house, you keep your house, we sleep wherever the fuck we want to sleep, we fuck wherever the hell we want to fuck, I build the bigger office on the parcel of land, and we get married and live however the fuck works for us.”
I frown and nod with emphasis. “Deal.”
He blinks and hesitates. “Deal?”
“That’s what I said.”
“So, we’re getting married.”
“Yep.”
“You’re fucking serious.”
“Yep.”
He’s about to get up, and I’d bet money that he’s going to get down on one knee. I lift a hand. “Don’t.”
“Are you sure? Isn’t that what most girls want?”
I lift his chin with my hand. “Am I most girls?”
“No. No, you are definitely not like most girls, otherwise we would not have just had that conversation.”
“Exactly. So, don’t make me gag by being all chivalrous and shit.”
“What do you want me to do then.”
I go for sly. “Nothing that you haven’t already done tonight, baby.”
“Well, Jesus. We have to do something. I have to get you something.” He licks his lips in thought. “What if...well...you love swimming so much. Do you like swimming in fresh water?”
“I’d swim in a fucking moat if it was convenient.”
“What about we buy a cottage on the lake, and I buy you a boat...instead of an engagement ring? It could be our little honeymoon getaway, and then we can have somewhere else to fuck when we get bored of our houses.”
“So, an engagement...boat?”
“Yeah.”
I smile. “I like it. We could name it...’Just Us’. No kids, just us.”
He smiles. “I love it.”
“I love it, too.”
The sun has set, and our eyes have adjusted to the darkness, which is becoming inky black as we lay here, making sweet pillow talk to each other.
He’s almost invisible in the dark when he kisses my lips again, sucking my bottom lip, making my insides quiver.
“God, what is it with you, Led. You just...bring out the animal in me.”
He reaches over and turns on the lamp, illuminating my face. “You do the same to me, baby.”
I slit my eyes at him and wink. “Turn the lamp off, baby, and come make me squeal again.”
He lifts a finger, wagging it at me, eyes dancing. “Na, na. Tonight, I want to fuck you with the lights on, baby.”
