Chapter 12

“ M ay I call you her and she? Is that okay?” I asked an hour later after I came no less than five times. My back lay against the headstone while the creature hovered in a sitting position on the ground beside me—just existing together.

“You’re mindful. That’s sweet of you. To answer your question, yes.

” Her voice was smooth now, the lust gone from her timbre.

It seemed to be her normal tone, soothing and higher pitched.

It wasn’t as difficult to tell if it was a male or feminine voice now, almost like she lowered on purpose in our other interactions.

It was like silk drifting across skin, and I sighed.

I was sated in a perfect way, and sitting with her felt right.

“Do you have a name? I don’t want to refer to you as ‘Wraith’”. I laughed. “Hey, Wraith, how are you this lovely evening?” I jeered.

She glanced sideways at me, her shiny black locks swishing around her shoulders, my humor lost on her. “No, I don’t have a name. I just exist. Well, before you that's what I did anyway.”

A blush crept onto my cheeks. “Are there others? Other wraiths?”

Instead of answering she stayed silent, gazing over the headstones. “You’re full of questions tonight, aren’t you?” she finally said. It was more a statement than a question.

“It’s not everyday you fuck a wraith in a graveyard. Can you blame me?” I quipped. “Besides, I told you before that I want to know things about you. That’s why I kept coming back.”

“Yes, there are more of us. It is rare to see another of my kind though. But enough questions for tonight,” she said as she moved to a standing position. Although, she hovered instead of stood.

I followed her lead. “Rae,” I said, dusting the grass off my jeans.

She stared at me, a look of confusion on her face. “What?”

I stepped closer, a smile pulling my lips. “I’m going to call you Rae. Short for Wraith, of course.” I looked down shyly. “Is that alright?”

Her features were blank as she looked at me for a few long moments. My stomach dropped at the thought of the name not being okay with her. I began to apologize before she held up a gray hand to stop me.

“It's perfect. Call me that if you wish, little flame. I don’t mind what you call me as long as you moan it when I make you come.”

My pussy throbbed at her words despite being thoroughly worn out. “I’ll keep that in mind.” I blushed.

Rae looked toward the woods before glancing at me. “Do you want to do something fun?” she asked.

“The multitude of orgasms you just gave me wasn’t fun enough fun?”

A grin pulled at her lips. Did wraiths laugh? I had no idea, but it became my mission to elicit one from those dark lips.

“Fair enough. Come here,” she motioned me to her, her first two fingers moving in a way that almost made me moan. Even her movements were hot. It was looking more and more like aroused was going to be a constant state of being with her.

I moved to stand beside her as she turned and sank low, motioning me to get on her back like a monkey. “Um, are you sure? I’m not that light.”

Rae rose back to her full height and faced me. “Stop being an idiot. I’m a wraith. I could lift you onto my back without even touching you if I wanted. I was just giving you the opportunity to do it yourself since you don’t seem like the type to want help with anything.”

She got me there. “Fine. Get back down,” I said.

“That’s what I thought.” She smirked.

I climbed onto her back, not so gracefully, and she had to reposition me once she straightened. Her cloak was tattered under my fingers, but it provided a good grip for me to hang on more easily. It was odd being this high up, and the cold was finally starting to get to me.

“Alright?” Rae called over her shoulder.

“Yes, I think so.”

As soon as the words left my lips, she donned her hood and rose higher off the ground than the few inches she hovered at before.

Once a few feet in the air, she began to move toward the woods while she ascended, flying us over the gravestones.

I gasped as we left the clearing of the graveyard behind, and reached the edge of the woods just high enough to soar over the tops of the trees.

I looked out over the horizon, my eyes able to see clearly despite the darkness. The forest extended for miles and to our left the town laid quietly at the foot of the hills. While admiring the twinkling lights in the distance, arms snaked around my legs and held me tighter.

The wind whipped my face and hair as we soared.

We circled and flew back in the direction of the cemetery, and after a few minutes we began our descent.

The formation of rocks, our usual meeting spot, came into view.

Once back on the ground, Rae crouched and I slid off her back right into the leaves.

I hit the ground with an oof , but it was soft beneath me. A silly giggle burst from my chest as I looked up at her offering a hand to help me up.

“That was incredible! Wow.” I probably looked like a little kid who had ridden a Ferris wheel for the first time, my eyes wide at the thrill I’d just experienced.

I looked to the sky and continued, “I’ve never seen the landscape from that far up before.

The forest is so beautiful from up there, and the stars.

The night sky felt like it was so close. ”

My gaze fell back to Rae and when I realized myself, I dropped my gaze. “Sorry for the rambling,” I said shyly. “That was very fun, thank you.”

A swish of wind blew my hair and Rae was in front of me, hood still in place so I couldn’t see her under the shroud.

She lifted my chin with two fingers and brushed strands from my cheek.

Silence stretched between us, and feeling bold, I reached up and gripped the cloth of her hood and pulled it back.

Her hair fell loose and those dark eyes never left my face. My lips parted and Rae’s hand moved to cup my cheek as she leaned in. When her lips captured mine, the kiss was less fervent but still possessive and claiming. She pulled back leaving me breathless.

“Don’t stay away so long next time,” she rasped, the sound reverberating in my bones. “I can’t be without you now that I’ve had a taste.”
