29. Saylor
Saylor
The weather was dull the moment the plane landed in London. And then it only grew thicker and duller as I traveled back to Manchester by coach.
As soon as I arrive back at my apartment, I drop my suitcase by the door and just stare at the emptiness that surrounds me for a while.
Right back to where it all started.
I go through the motions next, making myself a cup of tea. Then I sit down on the couch and stare at the wall.
I guess it just wasn’t meant to be in the end.
Still, I can’t help but think of what could have been.
I’m not sure how much time passes. I must have fallen asleep at some point because I awake on the couch, wiping the drool from my lips.
My cup of tea remains untouched on the coffee table. But everything else is still the same.
Just as it always will be.
That’s when there comes a knock at the door.
Confused, I get up off the couch, peering through the peephole.
I wasn't expecting visitors at all.
After all, nobody ever calls in on me anymore. The never-ending silence has become my new friend.
So, when someone does knock... My first instinct is to pretend that I’m not home.
But when I see who is on the other side of the door, my heart pounds, and then I yank it wide open.
Unless I’m still very jet-lagged from my trip back to the UK, there are two hunky Alphas standing in the hallway just outside my apartment. I have to rub my eyes to make sure I am seeing correctly.
No. They are actually here—Trent and Zale. I stammer now. “W-what are you both doing here?”
Both Alphas smile down at me. “We had to see you again, S. You’re our Omega now,” Zale replies.
Tears gather in my eyes, and for a moment I am too frozen to respond.
That’s when the sadness washes through me.
Of course. River.
He didn’t turn up at the airport, as his message was all too clear in the end.
He doesn’t want me. He never did.
Not back at high school… and not even now.
That’s when I notice the smirk on Zale’s face. They are hiding something from me.
Zale steps aside at the question in my eyes, and lo and behold… River is behind him.
The Alpha is shy as he smiles at me tightly. “I’m sorry, Saylor. I… I should have been there… I…”
He doesn’t finish. My head spins as I reach up to grab my forehead.
I can’t believe it. They are all here…
This can’t be real.
But when I pinch myself to confirm, it bloody hurts. Ouch!
Well, it looks as if this is real.
They are here.
Just when I thought I would never see them again.
“So, will you have us as your Alphas?” Trent asks. “We would love nothing more than to make you our Omega, Saylor. It’s long overdue.”
I shake my head. “Of… of course.”
I’m still in a state of shock.
Zale grins. “So, can we come inside?”
Still, as shocked as I may be, I meet the Alpha’s gray eyes. “I thought you would never ask,” I reply.
So, I step aside, allowing them inside my apartment at last. The moment Zale crosses the threshold, he sweeps me up in his arms, claiming my lips with a bruising kiss.
Then I meet Trent’s kiss as he cups the back of my head.
Now we all look up at River.
He’s still standing outside in the hall, as he has yet to cross the threshold. As though he doesn’t believe he's quite earned the right to enter my home.
His eyes wander over my tiny apartment next. They fall on the overflowing bookshelf, the cold cup of unfinished tea on the coffee table.
And then they fall upon the wretched blanket folded over the sofa.
It’s a lonely life for sure.
His throat bobs next. "You… live alone…” he whispers.
I shrug. "I guess. That’s just how it’s always been.”
His eyes close then. Whatever guilt he's been carrying since high school seems to double in that very instant.
And then slowly but surely, he sighs, finally allowing himself to step into my apartment.
My heart pounds throughout my body as his smile reaches his eyes. “H-hey, sunshine.”
“H-hi,” I reply.
The Alpha is hesitant at first. But then he steps forward, reaching his hands around the back of my head as he runs his fingers through my hair.
There’s no missing the regret in his eyes and the apology.
He is sorry. Sorry for everything these past two weeks.
No, he is sorry for the past ten years...
“Will you take me as your Alpha, Saylor?” he asks. “This is what I should have asked you ten years ago. But I’m asking you now. If… if you will have me. Not… not that I deserve it.”
I smile up at him, grabbing the back of his own neck. “Of course I will. And never mind all that now. All that matters is that you are here right now.”
The Alpha grins at me, and then he leans his head down, kissing me on the lips. He doesn’t remove his fingers from my hair.
We all move to the bedroom.
It’s time we took this to the next level…
Clothes go flying all over the place as each Alpha takes his turn worshiping every inch of my body.
As Zale slips his knot inside me, he finds a spot on my neck and bites. Then Trent does the same behind me as he claims the back of my neck, slipping his cock into my behind.
River takes my wrist, and as he gazes into my eyes, I nod, giving him my consent.
And then he digs his teeth into my wrist. My eyes slam shut as our bond forms into place.
The sensation takes my breath away. It’s like pure magic. How we all form together like a circle…
We are all connected now as I feel their emotions bleeding right through my veins, filling me with love.
A tear escapes my eye.
They love me.
All three.
“And we always will, S,” Zale whispers, brushing my hair from my face as he can sense my own thoughts, too.
Trent kisses his bite mark behind me, making me shudder. “You will definitely never be rid of us now, England.”
The tears keep on falling. River wipes them away now, gripping my chin in his hand. “I love you, sunshine.”
I smile. “And I love you. All three of you.”
River beams down at me, and now he brings me closer, placing a soft kiss on my lips.
And then they each take turns showing me just how much they love me and how they regret letting me go.
Well, it looks as if I found my own happy ever after, after all.
Just like my friends…
This is definitely my favorite chapter.
