Chapter Ten #2

Mia let out a scream and put a hand against her chest, as she looked over to Giovanni. “You scared me.”

“I did call out, saying you looked beautiful,” he said, crouching beside the side of the pool.

“Are you home early?” Mia asked, swimming to his side.

“Nah, I’m actually home a little late. I am sorry about that.”

She looked up at him and saw the frown above his brow. “Are you okay?” In the last few days, she had seen the stress creeping up on him, and she wished she could take it all away and make him happy. The girls were still missing, and they didn’t have any leads. This just made life harder for him.

“Yeah, I’m okay now, I’m home with you. How’s your day been?”

Mia smiled. “It’s been slow.”

“And the sickness?”

She wrinkled her nose. “That is one of the problems I’ve been dealing with, but other than that, I am okay.”

There was nothing for her to complain about. A touch of morning sickness was gone by ten o’clock most days. A little toast, some warm tea, or milk, and she tended to be fine. It didn’t affect the rest of her day.

“I don’t want you going out on your own from now on,” he said.

“Do you think they’re going to try and attack me?” Mia asked.

“I have no idea who we’re dealing with or what they’re capable of.” He sighed. “I don’t get it.”

“Talk to me.”

“I’m not going to bore you with all the details.”

“Maybe a problem shared...” She tilted her head to the side and he chuckled.

“I get it, babe, I do. I just don’t want to taint my time with you, with this bullshit.”

“It’s not BS,” she said. “It’s what you’re dealing with.”

“I just hate fucking cowards, and doing this shit behind masks so no one can see is cowardly.”

“You think kidnapping girls is cowardly?” She frowned. “Ignore what I just said, because I said it, and then I heard it.”

He stroked her cheek. Mia saw that he just needed to relax. She smiled at him, and then lifting herself out of the water, she grabbed the lapel of his jacket.

“Join me.”

And she tugged.

Mia knew there was a chance he wasn’t going to follow, however, Giovanni surprised her as he gave in to her demand and went headfirst into the water. She released a giggle and quickly swam away. The only problem was, Giovanni didn’t come straight up out of the water.

She saw a few of his clothes were floating around, and she couldn’t help but wonder, in the merest hint of a second, if this is what people felt in those movies, who suddenly had to face off with a shark.

“Giovanni?”

There was no way he was able to hold his breath for that long, was he? She spun around and felt her nerves gathering up, and everywhere she turned, she was sure she saw him, and then his arms wrapped around her.

“Got you,” he said.

She let out a startled scream, but he didn’t keep her for long, he lifted her and threw her a few feet across the water.

Mia did not have the most gracious landing, but she did burst out laughing as she hit the water. Then, pushing it out of her face, she quickly broke the surface. She didn’t know if Giovanni was going to hide, but there he was, closing the distance between them and pulling her into his arms.

“I missed you today,” he said.

“Just today?”

“Okay, fine, I miss you always, but I did miss you today.”

Before she could say anything else, he took possession of her lips and silenced any kind of protest from her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her body against his. She moaned his name, not wanting to let him go. It felt so right and so good to be this close to him.

“You drive me crazy,” he said.

At the feel of his pelvis pressing against her stomach, Mia couldn’t help but moan as she circled her arms around him.

“You drive me crazy too.” She smiled up at him.

She loved this man, and even though it hadn’t been perfect between them, she knew she didn’t need perfect. They were both going to screw up, that was just a fact of life.

Mia didn’t realize he’d been moving her toward the edge of the pool, until her back was against the corner of it.

“I now have you trapped,” he said.

“Oh, no, what are you going to do to me?” she asked.

He tilted her head back and kissed her. It was a hard, deep kiss, one that made her toes curl. The hand at her chin slid down, and she felt herself melting against him, and she didn’t want him to stop the way he touched her. She loved every touch.

He fingered the strap of her bathing suit and slowly he peeled it down one arm. Mia didn’t fight him. There was no point in fighting him. He was the one in control.

She melted against him.

One strap went down, followed by another, and Giovanni pushed it down so that it fell to her tits. Both of his hands peeled it off, and it went to her hips, then he shoved it past her hips, and she no longer felt it on her body.

It was quick, and he broke the kiss to slowly trail his lips to her neck. There, he bit down, making her gasp. He lifted her legs around him, and she felt the hard press of his cock between her thighs. She loved the feel of him.

He growled against her neck as he reached down and pressed the tip of his cock to her core.

She held onto him, as he sunk inside her, inch by inch, and when his dick was halfway inside her, he pulled back just enough for her to look into his eyes. They stared at each other, and she felt so connected to him.

There was no holding back. She felt him to her core.

Mia wanted to tell him she loved him, but at the same time she was afraid to do so. She loved this man and wanted to be with him. Forever. Always.

There was no one else she wanted to marry. She no longer wanted to run from him. She wanted to stand and fight, and to also make him realize that life can be good. It can be fun, and he doesn’t have to be so serious all the time.

“You’re mine,” he said.

He held onto her hips and plunged the last of him inside her. She was always his, even if she was a little pissed at him. That was never going to change.

Mia knew she belonged to him, and she wanted to ask if he was hers, but instead he kissed her, and she just knew.

They belonged to each other.
