Mechislav
Daisy curls up against me without saying anything. I don’t push it though. She needs to come to terms with forever in her own time.
I listen to her breathing for a while, then when my cock begins to harden again, I slide it part way into her pussy. She whimpers, but doesn’t wake up. Wrapping my arm around her, I fall asleep.
It’s seven thirty when I wake up, surprised to find the bed next to me empty. The shower is running and steam is curling under the door. My cock is swollen and hard, and I frown, wondering if I’ll ever be fully soft again with Daisy in my life.
The bathroom door opens and she appears in a towel, with another wrapped around her head.
“Good morning,” she says, beaming a smile at me. “Did you sleep well?”
“Did you?” I counter, wondering if I went too far with the cock warming last night.
“Yes, thanks. But I definitely needed a shower this morning.” She blushes, and I realise she must have felt a little uncomfortable and sticky with what we did last night.
“So the cock warming was okay?” I ask, “I shouldn’t have just assumed, I’m sorry.”
“The cock warming was amazing, but when I woke up it was already late and I need to get to the shop. Bodhan said he would be finished by the end of today and the first shipment of books are arriving.”
“Ah,” I say with a smile. “At least we know what you’ll turn down sex for.”
She laughs and drops her towel. “Not turning it down,” she says, kissing me. “But would appreciate if it could be a quickie.”
I pull her onto the bed as she unravels the towel from around her hair, letting it fall in thick wet tendrils down her back.
“I can be quick.”
Twenty minutes later we are both dressed and ready to head to the shop. I’ve already texted my cousins to let them know I won’t be coming into work today.
We both get into my car and Daisy is telling me about how she has a point-of-sale system arriving at some point this morning and she hopes the rolling ladder goes in okay when there’s a loud crunch and the car spins into oncoming traffic.
All hell seems to break loose at once. The airbags explode and the smell of burning rubber fills the air along with the sound of honking horns.
“Daisy,” I say, reaching out to her. “Daisy, are you okay?”
She groans and I release the air that was trapped in my chest.
I look around, trying to orientate myself with the new position on the road and figure out what happened. My windscreen is cracked, both windows on my side are broken, my door has crunched inwards along with the front of the car, trapping my leg against the pedals.
Fuck.
“Daisy, talk to me if you can,” I say as I look over at her. Her head hit her window; there’s a smear of blood in the cracked glass. Rage fills me. My woman is hurt and I’m fucking trapped.
I manage to pull my phone out of my inside pocket and dial Eduard while I reach for the door handle with my other hand. It doesn’t move even when I ram my shoulder against it. He answers on the third ring.
“Someone hit me as I was approaching the bridge,” I say. “Not sure of intent. Daisy is hurt and I’m trapped in the fucking car.”
“We’re on our way.”
The line cuts off and I use both hands to push at the door, but the angle makes it impossible to get any sort of leverage.
I reach down into what bit of the footwell I can squeeze my hand into and find the lever to adjust the chair position.
It slides back quickly, causing a flash of searing pain to jolt up my leg.
I bite down hard enough to crack my teeth, using my new found space to get my knife from my ankle holster and slice through the airbag before cutting the seatbelt.
“Daisy,” I say, touching her arm.
She groans again, her eyes trying to open. She slowly lifts a hand to her head.
“Hey, hey don’t move. Help is on the way.”
I lean back, lifting my unhurt leg and kicking the windscreen until it pops from the frame. I half climb, half drag myself from the car, ignoring the shouts and screams around me. There’s blood in my eyes that I try to blink away as I make my way to her door and yank it open.
Her side of the car is less damaged, thankfully, but the head wound looks serious enough to need a hospital.
She blinks up at me, confused, frowning, clearly trying to make sense of what happened.
“It’s okay,” I tell her. “Everything is going to be okay.”
Fire and rescue appear and begin their assessment of her.
“Mech,” she says, reaching for me. I take her hand.
“I’m not going anywhere,” I tell her.
Demyan appears through the throng of people with Jasper and Eduard behind him.
“You remember anything?” he asks, ignoring the side eyes from the paramedics.
“No, I was almost at the bridge and a car T-boned me.”
“Color? Make? Model?”
“Dark,” I snap. “Where is Natan?”
“I told him to go to the café and let the women know as they will be worried about Daisy.”
“They don’t know Daisy is with me.”
Jasper snorts. “Those women know everything. How is she?”
“Head wound,” I say. “I want her to have the full works,” I bark at the paramedics. “At the best hospital.”
“What about you?” Eduard says. “You have a cut on your forehead and you’re limping.”
“I’m fine,” I say, not taking my eyes from Daisy as they lift her from the car. She has a neck brace on and the fear that grips me is so overwhelming I think I lose my mind for a second.
“Hey,” Eduard says. “You know she’ll only get the best, we’ll make sure of it. But you need to go to the hospital too and get that leg looked at, it’s bleeding pretty heavily.”
I look down at my leg and cut the fabric away so I can see what I’m dealing with. Angry purple bruises are already spreading over my skin.
“It’s just where it was trapped,” I say.
“It needs stitches,” Demyan says, twisting his mouth in disgust.
I roll my eyes, it’s not like he hasn’t seen worse.
“For fuck sake, Demyan, it isn’t like we haven’t dealt with worse.” I follow the paramedics as they wheel Daisy to the back of an ambulance and lift myself into it with a grunt. “I’m not leaving her.”
My cousin holds his hands up in surrender.
The ambulance gets us to the hospital in under fifteen minutes, and Daisy is taken immediately through to trauma. A nurse the size of a tank wearing a blue uniform with her hair up in tight curls takes one look at me and tells me to sit.
“I’m not leaving her,” I say, pointing at Daisy who is going in and out of consciousness like a yoyo.
“Perhaps not,” she says with a raised brow and no-nonsense look on her face. “But I need to dress that leg so you don’t bleed all over my ER. So you do as I tell you and I’ll let you stay close by to her, or argue with me and I’ll have you removed from the premises.”
I consider her for a moment. I don’t doubt she rules this place with an iron fist. She looks like she could take at least me and one of my cousins on both at the same time.
I sit my ass down in the chair she is pointing to, and she opens up a packet of gauze with tubes of saline water.
“Please can you hurry,” I say as I watch the doctors do their examinations on Daisy.
“Quicker you shut up, quicker I’ll be done.”
She is quick. Within ten minutes she has patched up the cut on my forehead, thrown a wad of damp gauze at me so I can wash the blood from my eyes and started stitching my leg.
She is half way done when Daisy comes around.
I hear one doctor say she needs a head scan, then Daisy shouts my name and I stand up so quickly that I knock the nurses tray of bloodstained bandages and tools over.
The nurse glares at me, knots the string she has been stitching me up with and tells me she has never had such an insolent patient.
“I’m here,” I say to Daisy. “We were in a car accident.”
“The shop,” she says. “I need to get to the shop.”
I laugh, but I think it’s from relief. “No, baby, you stay here, Natan is at the café, I’ll see if Delilah or Sammie can deal with the shop stuff today.
Daisy’s eyes fill with tears.
“Are you in pain?” I ask, shouting behind me for the nurse, who appears with a syringe of something.
“No, it’s just shock I think,” Daisy says as the first tear runs down her cheek.
I lean over her, careful not to touch the wound on her head which has stopped bleeding at least.
The syringe I thought was for Daisy get delivered into my leg and I glance down to find the battleaxe nurse preparing a new packet of tools to finish the job.
“Your boss is here,” she said. “Gave me permission to knock you out if I need to. Do I need to?” she demands.
I pull the chair closer to Daisy’s bed and sit on it.
“They are going to take you for a scan to make sure your head is okay,” I tell Daisy. “Is there anyone you need me to call?”
Daisy closes her eyes tight. “No,” she says. “I only have an aunt and we aren’t close.”
Guilt floods me. I should know this stuff. I’ve known her long enough now to know she only has an aunt and the reason why, and yet I don’t know anything about her. Not really. Just like she said.
She squeezes my hand, as if reading my mind and trying to alleviate the shame I feel.
“I’m sorry,” I say. “I should know this stuff.”
“No, it’s stuff you’d learn over time, we haven’t really spent much time together yet.”
But that’s not true. Not really. We’ve spent ample time together since she agreed to take on the shop, we’ve just spent it in bed.
