Davina

I had this underlying fear that once we crossed the line, things would be different. And they are but not in a bad way. Mason walks into the clubhouse and the first thing he does is approach me, giving me a soft kiss on the lips as though it’s the most natural thing for him to do. God, it feels natural. Feels like we should’ve been doing this for years. I guess in some ways we were. Like Charlie said, we just needed to make it official.

“Everything okay?”

He nods but I notice his knuckles are scratched and bloody. I arch an eyebrow and he reassures me that he’s fine. This man has been through a lot for this club. It wasn’t all that long ago that he was shot. Thank God for Doc and Skylar.

“You working tonight?” For the first time since we opened, I wish I wasn’t, but I nod in response. “Who’s watching Charlie?”

“He’s hanging out with Bishop. Apparently, they have some sort of pizza and movie fest planned. Guys night since Sloan is working.”

He nods. “I’ll take you to work.”

I don’t argue with him. I love riding his bike.

“Okay I’m going to get Charlie dropped off and see if I can smooth things over with Bishop. Pick me up at nine.”

“I’ll be there early,” he says with a grin.

“Why is that?” I ask teasingly.

“I have to make sure you’re getting what you need. Can’t have you making out with random bikers in the parking lot.”

I wrap my arms around his neck, smiling. “Be there at eight then. I’ll be waiting. I’ll be naked.”

“Fuck waiting. We can go to my office right now.”

I squeal in delight when he tosses me over his shoulder and carries me to his office, slamming the door shut behind him.
