epilogue

I never thought this day would come. Sure, I fantasized about having a beautiful wedding, marrying the man I love, but life always had other plans.
Six months ago, my child was kidnapped by his father. The Harvester. The man who had tormented our club. The man who stole innocent women and sold them like they were cattle.
But Mason kept his word. He saved my son. He saved us all. And nearly died in the process.
The club is prospering now. Yes, we lost Taj and Marco to Collin. Their greed proved they weren’t fit to be Bastards, but the former members were reinstated due to their assistance with bringing Collin down. Had Charlie not been taken, we still would’ve found Collin. The Harvester would still be dead. And I would still be marrying Mason.
To be honest, I’m surprised he proposed. I figured him more the type to just have a commitment, no legal papers needed. But this makes it easier for him to officially adopt Charlie.
“You ready, Mom?” Charlie asks.
“You look devastatingly handsome in your suit,” I inform him and he grins.
“Lots of ladies here today. Lots of ladies. But don’t worry, Mom, I only have eyes for you today.”
Oh geez. I don’t know if I can handle this kid’s teenage years. I already know he’s going to follow in our footsteps. The club is ingrained in him. I just want him to be as happy as I am. I give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek, leaving a lipstick print which he immediately wipes off.
He takes my hand and leads me out to the ceremony. We’re out back at the clubhouse. There is a huge tent with white lily flower arrangements decorating the chairs. My parents are here, but we all felt it was best for Charlie to walk me down the aisle.
Mason stands by the preacher, actually wearing a tux. His long, wavy hair is pulled back in a low ponytail. He’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. And he’s all mine.
Everything we’ve been through…it was worth it all.
