Chapter 53
Remington
ONE MONTH LATER
Iwalk into our bedroom in our new apartment, in Lainey’s old Fox Hollow building, and nearly trip over my own feet at the sight before me. My woman is bent over our bed in nothing but deep-purple lace panties and a matching bra.
Quietly I step up behind her, and she yelps in surprise when I band an arm around her waist, pulling her body into mine, her back flush to my chest.
“You are a little fucking tease, aren’t you, beautiful?” I growl into her ear.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Her sweet voice bubbles out with a hint of laughter.
“Hmm, really? You don’t know that we are supposed to be leaving soon to meet the contractor? You expect me to walk in here, see you looking like this”—I trail my fingers down her side leaving goose bumps in my wake—“and not expect me to fuck you the way you deserve?”
“I mean, if you insist.” She bites that bottom lip, driving me crazy.
I pull her even tighter against me so she can feel my erection, begging to be set free. “Feel that, baby? Desperate for you, that’s what you make me.” I spin her around and claim her mouth.
She kisses me back passionately, just as needy for me. Her hands slide under my shirt and the contact of her fingers burn my skin with want. Gasping and peppering kisses down my neck, she says, “You are very overdressed again.”
“I can fix that.” I yank my T-shirt over my head as she works my belt open. Her sexy breasts shake with her movements, and I can’t wait to get my hands, my mouth, on them.
I shed my jeans and boxers in record time, reclaim Lainey’s mouth, and pick her up. Her curves fill my hands perfectly as I sit her back on the bed, snapping open her bra, nearly ripping it apart in my haste.
“Remmmington.” She moans my name and grips my hair when I suck a pink, needy bud into my mouth, massaging her other breast with my hand.
“Perfect, baby. Every inch of you.”
Her body arches off of the bed as my kisses roam over her creamy skin, stopping over her lace-covered center.
Rolling my hands over her hips I look at her with a greedy smile.
“Now you are the one that is overdressed.” I rip the purple lace from her body as easily as wrapping paper covering the most precious gift.
“Remington! Those matched my bra. I just bought them.” Lainey tries to act upset, but the lust in her stormy-blue eyes and her dripping wet pussy as I run my fingers up to her clit tell a different story.
“I’ll buy you more.” I settle between her open legs and kiss my way up her calf, pressing down on her hips as she wiggles on the mattress.
“Be a good girl and let me worship you,” I demand, nipping at her inner thigh.
“Ohmygod.” Her moans of pleasure fill our empty bedroom with the sweetest sounds while her addictive taste floods my tongue. I will never get enough of her, of giving her pleasure, and knowing that I am the man that holds all her secrets.
“More. Yes. Remington. Oh, right. Thhhere.” Her body locks tight as I suck her swollen clit, rolling it over my tongue, and her orgasm crashes powerfully through her body and spills into my mouth. I lick up every delicious drop.
“I could live right here,” I admit to her as she looks down at me, her chest heaving.
“But I need you up here.” She pulls me to her, chest to chest. I kiss her fully, letting her taste her own release on my lips, and we both moan.
I grind my throbbing cock against her soaking wet entrance, knowing she is more than ready to take every inch. With one hard thrust I slide in deep, fully seated in my own personal paradise.
“Holy shit!” Lainey cries out. She rolls her hips, silently asking for more, and I am happy to give her anything she wants.
Our hearts pound in rhythm with our bodies, and we get lost in each other. Hands and hearts tangled in the sheets. Kisses and confessions of love falling from our lips. Heaven and home. Here and now.
“Come with me, Lainey. Let me fill you up. Feel my perfect pussy ruin me.” She nods wildly, eyes pinched.
“Eyes on me, baby. Right here.” As soon as her blue oceans open to me, revealing the depth of her passion, love, and our connection—we combust together, tossed over in a turbulent sea of lust. Lost to each other in the most perfect way.
Collapsing, heart racing and full, I hear Lainey start to giggle. I look over at her, brown hair a soft halo around her glowing face and shoulders. “What’s so funny?”
“We are definitely going to be late for the contractor.” She covers her face, giggles turning into full-on laughter.
Damn, it feels good to see her so happy.
We get into my truck, late, and head over to the house. Well, can’t exactly call it that yet. After Lainey fully recovered, we decided to move back into her old apartment building while we rebuild our dream home. As kind as it was of my parents to let us live with them, we needed space and privacy.
Thankfully this building allows dogs, so Ash could stay with us.
He’s getting so big, has the sweetest personality, and made a full recovery from the fire as well.
We take him to obedience classes, and he is the best one in there, not that I am biased or anything.
Ash also is Lainey’s constant shadow. I think they recognize the trauma that they endured, a silent bond that pulls them together.
Wherever she is, Ash is steps behind. So right now he, of course, is in the back seat, head resting on the center console of the truck.
His dark eyes moon up at Lainey, watchful and loving.
“Isn’t it weird that he wanted to meet at dusk?” Lainey asks me as we turn into our neighborhood.
“He is really busy, just wanted to get a feel for the space he has to work with,” I grumble and grip the steering wheel tighter.
“Still think it’s weird.” Lainey looks down at Ash, scratching behind his fuzzy ears.
She continues looking at him as we park in the driveway and doesn’t notice that the contractor isn’t here. I hop out of the truck and round her side, opening her door.
Finally looking up at our property, Lainey stumbles into my arms in shock. “Oh my God, Remington.” She looks up at me, awe and tears welling in her eyes.
I had cracked the windows before I got out; the night is cool, and I don’t want Ash to run through my surprise, so we leave him in the truck for now.
Taking Lainey’s hand, I walk her to where our house used to stand, where the new one will eventually be built.
All over our property, every spot that was touched by the fire is now covered with arrangements of flowers—any and every variety I could get my hands on.
There are also hundreds of candles, battery-operated ones thank you very much, dotted throughout the massive bouquet and lining a path to the middle where there is a large space for us to stand.
“I have never seen anything more beautiful in my entire life,” Lainey says as she spins around, taking in the rainbow of colors and false flickering flames as the dusky air hums around us.
“I have,” I state as she turns back to me, finding me staring at her.
“Remington,” she whispers.
“Lainey, you lit up my life from the moment we met. Before you, I was existing, going through the motions of life, but I wasn’t truly living. I wanted that dream you told me about too, but I was afraid to chase it, to open myself up to the possibility of getting hurt.”
She wipes a tear that runs down her cheek. I cup her face, tracing my thumb along her scarred jaw. Shivers ripple through both of us.
“I had no chance resisting you, baby. This pull. This connection. You captured my heart, my very soul before you ever realized it, Lainey. I am wholly, completely yours.”
Dropping to one knee, I pull out a small lavender box and pop it open to reveal the ring I have been waiting too long to give Lainey. The large radiant-cut diamond in the center sparkles in the glowing candlelight surrounding us.
“Make me the most blessed man to walk this planet, Lainey. Marry me? Be mine. Let me be the man to give you flowers and my forever.”
“Yes, Remington. Oh my God, yes!” Lainey sobs as she launches herself into my arms, hugging me, anchoring herself to me.
I kiss her deeply before I pull back, and taking her left hand, I slide the engagement ring down her trembling finger.
“Remington, this is too much,” Lainey tries to protest, as if it will change it.
“You deserve this, baby. I picked it just for you. Nothing is too much for you.” I kiss her cheeks, blush staining them perfectly.
“Lainey LeBlanc has a nice ring to it.” Her eyes shimmer with happiness.
“It sure does.” I kiss the shining promise that I just slid into place on her hand.
Holding it up to the fading light, Lainey looks at the diamonds on the band meeting the center stone and grins at me. “It looks like a flower.”
“I told you, beautiful. I am going to find a way to give you as many flowers as I possibly can.” I kiss her soft lips.
“Forever?” Lainey asks, voice full of love and longing.
“Forever,” I vow.
