Chapter Sixteen

Lance

After a few minutes of sitting on the couch, my fingers running along her naked back, I can’t help the warmth flooding my chest.

Kallies breathing evens out, and I think she dozed off. Not wanting to wake her, I keep her pressed to my bare chest, enjoying the time I have with her. I know Robert and Reba will want to work things out with her sooner or later, but I just want a bit more time with her before we figure it all out.

Kallie begins to stir a few minutes later. My cock still buried inside her is slowly softening, but the moment she moves her hips, it hardens once again. She lets out a small moan as I thrust slowly upward into her beautiful pussy.

“Lance—” She lifts herself up, and I take the opportunity to kiss her. My hand finds the back of her head, and I deepen the kiss, never wanting this to end.

Moving my hands to her hips, I shove her down until I bottom out.

“Oh, fuck,” she moans, bracing herself on my knees and leaning back enough to give me room to fuck her. I can see myself thrust into her, and the sight alone could make me come.

“Fuck, Kallie. I could watch you like this forever.”

We stay like that for a while, just the two of us connected in the most intimate of ways, and nothing makes me happier.

“I love you, Kallie,” I whisper against her mouth as I bring her body back down on top of me.

“I love you, Lance.” The smile on my face is almost painful.

She grows breathless as she rocks herself against me slowly. “Don’t stop,” I tell her. “I want to watch you make yourself come on my cock.” Kallie moves up and down on my shaft, her moans growing louder, more desperate.

“I’m going to come,” she groans, and I grab her hips, helping her move faster and harder. Seconds later, her body explodes as her pussy tightens around me, my release following suit as I fill her up with everything I have left.

There isn’t a doubt in my mind.

I love this woman.

Kallie

We spent the rest of Christmas Eve snuggled up on the couch. We tried watching a movie, but by the time it got halfway through, Lance couldn’t focus, and it ended with him buried deep inside me until we went to bed.

I haven’t heard from my dad; I figured I’d give him some time to cool off before I try to smooth things over. What he said hurt, but part of me understands why he was so mad. I did screw up by even entertaining the idea of dating my boss. But for me to get into a full-blown relationship with him, all for him to ruin my career and drive me away? Stupidity. But now, I’m back here, and I know this is where I’m meant to be. Everything happened for a reason, and I won’t take that for granted.

The sun is up, and the scent of freshly brewed coffee is what gets me in gear and out of bed. Grabbing Lance’s t-shirt off the nightstand, I pull it over my head and walk toward the door, wanting to feel Lance’s lips against mine.

I hear Christmas music playing at a low volume, and Lance's soft voice hits my ears. He sings along to Baby It’s Cold Outside, and I lean against the door frame, trying to memorize the sight in front of me.

A hand towel is thrown over his naked torso as he flips a pancake on the stove. I’m not sure how long I stand there watching him, but my spell is broken when he looks over his shoulder with a smile on his handsome face.

“Good morning, sunshine.” He smiles before our lips meet in a tender, stolen moment, I’m lost in the warmth of his embrace. His hands gently cradle my face, pulling me closer, as if nothing else matters. I melt into the kiss, savoring our connection.

The sudden sound of the door handle turning and my dad’s voice shatters our intimate bubble, and my heart plummets to the pit of my stomach. “Kallie? Lance?” With a gasp, I pull away, my eyes wide with shock as I turn, looking at my dad standing there. The glass dish in his hand hits the floor, and glass goes everywhere. Lance grabs me, pushing me behind him to avoid any of the glass hitting me.

When I look back at my dad, his expression is a mixture of disbelief, hurt, and anger. I feel a lump form in my throat as I try to find the words to explain, but they catch in my mouth, leaving me speechless and exposed.

“Dad…” I start, but my voice falters, unable to articulate the mess of emotions swirling inside of me. He doesn’t say anything at first; he just stands there, his eyes flickering between me and his best friend standing in front of me, still shirtless.

Finally, he speaks, his voice low and angry. “What…what is this?” he asks, his words laced with hurt and betrayal. A few seconds later, my mom appears behind my dad.

“What in the world happe-” Her words die on her tongue when she looks from the glass on the kitchen floor to me, still wearing Lance’s shirt.

“Robert—dear, let’s all sit down and talk like adults.” My mom tries to calm him down, but my dad looks like he’s ready to beat Lance bloody.

“You’re sleeping with my daughter?” my dad bellows, stepping through the glass and eating up the distance between him and Lance. My dad doesn’t give Lance a chance to explain as he swings, his fist connecting with Lance’s cheek.

“Dad!”

“Robert!” my mom and I yell in unison.

“Stop, Dad!” I go to step forward to try to break whatever this is up, but before I can, Lance speaks.

“Kallie, don’t. I deserve this.”

“No, you don’t!” My dad hits him again, but Lance holds his ground and never hits back. I can’t help the tears falling from my eyes. He only gets a few hits in before Lance tells him to stop.

“That’s enough, Robert. I understand you’re mad, but if you hit me again, I won’t hold back.” Both are breathing heavily as they stare at each other. “I’m not just sleeping with your daughter. I’m in love with her, Robert.”

He steps back, wiping the blood from his lip, and I take the chance to move to the side. My mom is wringing her hands together across the room, but my dad is still fuming.

“You can’t love her. You’re just wanting a quick fuck. I know how you are, Lance.” My dad steps forward once again, trying to swing, but before he can, I step forward, gripping my dad’s arm, trying to pull him away. He shrugs me off, his movement swift and forceful. I stumble backward, caught off guard, my balance betraying me as I fall. Time slows to a crawl as I watch the ground rush up to meet me, shards of broken glass glinting in the dim light.

A shockwave of pain radiates through my body as I land on the shards. I bite back a cry, the sharp edges biting into my skin. Blood drips down my hands as I try not to move.

Lance rushes past my dad, not caring that he doesn’t have any shoes on as he leans down, gripping my face in his hands. “Kallie, baby, are you okay?” He looks so concerned.

“I’m fine,” I say, even though I’m lying. A thick piece of glass that’s embedded in my hand throbs. I look up, finding my dad’s eyes, his expression twisted with concern.

“I-I’m sorry,” he murmurs, his voice full of regret as he steps forward to help but then thinks twice.

Lance picks me up from the glass and carries me to the bathroom, and I hear my mom and dad’s raised voices back in the kitchen. A few seconds later, the front door slams shut.

“Look at me, baby.” I shake my head, not wanting him to see the tears I’m struggling to keep at bay.

“Hey.” He grips my chin, moving my face so he can look into my eyes. “Are you okay, sunshine?”

The words are stuck in my throat. I don’t trust myself to talk right now, so I nod instead.

“Your dad will get over it. I promise, okay? I’ll talk to him later. Probably better letting him cool off.” He sounds so sure he will calm down.

Lance cleaned and wrapped my hand after thoroughly examining each cut to make sure I didn’t need any stitches. Thankfully, I didn’t.

Now, I’m sitting back in the living room, my mom next to me as Lance makes some coffee and gets the fire going again.

“Do you love him?” my mom asks, taking my hand in hers.

I can’t help the small smile that grows on my face as she mentions Lance. My eyes find him easily across the room as he tosses a new log into the fireplace.

“I do,” is all I say as I smile watching him. “He makes me happy, Mom. And all I want is for Dad to see that too.”

“Your dad will get over himself. You are a grown woman and Lance is a grown man. You both get to make your own decisions, and if it crashes and burns, then we will both be there for you, no matter what. Even if your father has a stick up his ass.” She sends me a wink, and we both bust out laughing, gaining Lance’s attention.

He walks over and presses a kiss to my head before taking a seat next to me. “Reba, I’m sorry for the mess. He’s my best friend and I hate that he found out this way, but I do love Kallie with all my heart. I’d never do anything to hurt her. Please know that.” I can hear the sincerity in his voice, and it sends a wave of happiness through me.

My mom has a warm smile on her face as she looks at Lance. “I know. Everything will be okay. Now, why don’t we go have some coffee and wait for my husband to grace us with his presence?”
