Wrath Chapter 4 #3

I was about to hang up when Agony picked up on the fourth ring.

I checked the clock and saw it was after five.

Damn, I should’ve checked first. He would be off work and with his family.

He and his old lady, Eliana, had twins—Zoe and Zavian.

They were three and a half. From what I heard and saw, the kids were rambunctious, and they had their hands full.

“Hey. Wrath, it’s good to hear from you,” he greeted.

“Agony, I’m sorry, man. I didn’t look at the clock. I didn’t mean to interrupt. Is there a good time I can call you in the morning?” I hated to wait, but surely morning wouldn’t be too late.

“Nah, there’s no reason to call back. The kids are over at Knight’s house playing with Cara. Eliana is finishing up at the clinic. What can I do for you?”

Cara was Knight and Natalya’s oldest. Agony’s wife, Eliana, was a nurse practitioner who served a large community of people, especially those into holistic medicine and in need of non-medical services.

“I need to talk to you. You’ve been the closest to the current situation I find myself in. I need advice on how to go about it.”

“Hit me with it,” Agony said.

I spent the next ten or more minutes explaining the whole deal with Dylan, the rescue of Jalisa, and the resulting information we had from Dutton and the Fiends. When I was done, there was a long silence, followed by a long whistle. When he finished, he spoke.

“Goddamn, you know how to land in a pile of shit even harder than we do. Fuck, Wrath, those Black Outlaws are becoming the bane of our existence. The Warriors had problems with them years back, then us last year, now you. I’m beginning to think the whole fucking organization is evil, and they all need to be wiped out.

Every damn chapter. I’m tired of hearing their name,” he growled.

“I agree.”

“So this Jalisa is staying with you, and the Fiends are trying to figure out how to get rid of the Outlaws but especially that crazy fuck, Killer. Christ, if he did what they say he did to those women, he’s sick. It’ll be a pleasure to put him down.”

“It makes me sick, too. They’re gonna come looking when they can’t get in contact with those three.

And they seem to know she was here because they have spies.

I have no clue who those people are. Sending her back to the Fiends won’t work.

There are other chapters of the Fiends, but they might still search for her in them.

I think we’ll end up locking down here and battling what comes. ”

“Or you could send her to a club that they won’t necessarily know you’re affiliated with.

What about Reaper or Jinx? Wait, maybe Jinx’s would be better.

They don’t have any women or children to worry about.

Or we could ask the Patriots if they have a safe house you can have her hole up in,” he mused.

Those were all good ideas, but I didn’t want her to be sent far away. And the thought of her with Jinx and his club of single men on the prowl was worse. They’d fall on her like dogs on a steak.

“I don’t see her willing to go that far or stay alone with strangers. It was all I could do to get her to remain here. She’s got a mind of her own and isn’t afraid to go in with her guns blazing, literally.” I chuckled because I recalled her in the kitchen of Dylan’s place.

“From what you said, it sounds like she’d make an ideal old lady for someone. Maybe she should stay with your club, and one of your guys could claim her.”

A disapproving growl came bubbling up out of me before I could stop it. It caused Agony to laugh his ass off. I let him. He eventually calmed enough for me to speak.

“Are you done?” I asked.

“Maybe. I see that suggestion is off the table. So, she’s feisty, and I bet she’s hot.

And from what you said, she’s not stupid.

You could do worse than that for an old lady, my friend.

Do you find yourself drawn to her purely in a sexual way?

Because if that’s the case, then maybe not.

But if there’s more to it, then it can develop.

Not everyone is instantly smacked in the face with it like I was.

I knew I wanted Eliana the moment I met her, and I couldn’t stand the idea of anyone else being with her.

That was even when I thought she was swindling money out of old people with her so-called remedies.

I hated that I couldn’t get to know her on principle. ”

“When did you begin to consider whether she might be the woman you should claim?”

“About the same time. It was there in the back of my mind from the start. Why?”

I debated whether to say anything to him or not. But as a married man who’d gone through this, I knew he was a logical one to ask.

“Before I called you, I asked myself what if she was the one for me? As a princess in a rival club, she should be off-limits. I sure as hell won’t be having sex with her for the fun of it.

Psycho would kill me for sure. However, what if she and I were permanent?

Would he accept it? Could I lose out on the one for me by disqualifying her as a possibility due to her dad’s club? ”

Agony gave a jubilant shout. “Hot damn, Wrath has been bitten! Brother, if you’re asking those questions after less than a day, you’re already in too deep, and there’s no way you’ll walk away.

If you did, you’d go insane, wondering and worrying about her.

If I were you, I’d find a way to see if she’s into you, and if she is, solidify that shit however you have to before her dad insists she come home.

Pin her down before someone snaps her up. ”

“Christ, do you know how crazy that sounds, Agony?”

“Yep, I do, and I’m glad every freaking day that I went with the crazy option. I’ve never been happier. I have the love of my life and two amazing kids. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

“Okay, you’ve got me thinking, but before I can do anything about that, we need to figure out how to protect Jalisa. There has to be something we can do that makes her untouchable.”

“Hmm, you’re right. Let me think overnight, and you do the same. I’ll call you in the morning, and we’ll devise a plan. Until then, keep your head on a swivel. Let me know if you need more men, and I’ll send you some. You know the others will, too.”

“Thanks, Agony. I appreciate all the help. I’ll let you go to enjoy your family, and I’ll wait for your call.”

“Deal. Have a good evening, brother.”

“You, too. Goodnight.”

After I hung up, I began drafting possible solutions while waiting for the others to return from disposing of the bodies.
