Chapter Four #4
Shay lay on her side facing me, her hair spread across the pillow and one bare thigh resting over mine. The gray shirt had ridden above her hips.
I watched her for several seconds.
Her eyes opened.
“Were you staring again?” she asked.
“Yes.”
“Consistent.”
She stretched, and the movement pressed her closer.
My cock hardened against her stomach.
Shay glanced down between us. “Also consistent.”
“You could move away.”
“I could.”
She didn’t.
Her fingers slipped under the waistband of my boxer briefs and wrapped around me. I exhaled sharply.
“You know what that does to me.”
“I have to go soon.”
“You’re making an argument for getting out of bed.”
“I wasn’t making that argument.”
She stroked me once, watching my face.
“I want you before I leave,” she said.
I caught the hem of the shirt and lifted it over her head.
“You’re sure?”
“I’m very sure.”
She rolled onto her back and drew me over her. I pushed off my boxer briefs while she removed her underwear and dropped it beside the bed.
She opened her legs for me.
Our mouths met as I settled between her thighs. Her pussy was already wet when I stroked through her folds.
Shay lifted into the touch. “Don’t make this slow.”
I positioned my cock at her entrance.
“Tell me if you need anything.”
“I need you inside me.”
I pressed forward.
I slid into her in one deep glide. Shay gasped and hooked one leg higher over my hip.
I stayed still until she moved under me.
“Now,” she said.
I withdrew and thrust back into her.
Her fingers gripped my shoulders as I found a quick, steady rhythm. The mattress shifted with us. Morning light crossed her face, catching the amber in her eyes each time she looked up at me.
She met every thrust.
“Stay with me, Titus.”
“I’m right here.”
I kissed her while my hips drove between her thighs. She was tight and slick around my cock.
I slid one hand between us and pressed my thumb to her clit.
She moaned.
“Yes. Keep doing that.”
I rubbed firm circles while I fucked her. Shay’s nails dragged lightly across my back.
She pulled my face closer. “I’m close.”
“Come.”
Her eyes held mine.
Shay cried out as she came, her body going taut under me. I kept the pressure on her clit until she went soft beneath me.
Then she wrapped both legs around me.
“Your turn,” she said.
I buried myself deep and came with her name rough in my throat.
For a moment, I stayed above her, breathing hard while she ran her fingers through my hair.
“That was efficient,” she said.
I laughed into the curve of her neck. “You’re welcome.”
“I helped.”
“You did.”
I withdrew and reached for the clean towel I kept in the bedside drawer. I cleaned us up, then carried the towel to the laundry basket while Shay found her shirt.
She watched me return. “You keep towels in your nightstand?”
“I live alone and plan ahead.”
“Only one spreadsheet away from perfection.”
I pulled her up from the bed.
We showered together. Shay washed her hair while I rinsed soap from my chest, and we traded places under the water.
Afterward, I pulled on jeans and a work shirt while she dressed in yesterday’s jeans and the pale-green shirt for the drive to the guesthouse. Her damp hair went into a loose knot.
I made scrambled eggs and toast while she poured water for both of us.
“What time do you need to leave?” I asked.
“By nine forty-five. I’ll change at the guesthouse and be at the office by ten thirty.”
“You’re going back.”
“I’m going back.”
She carried the glasses to the table. “Turning off my phone for one afternoon was reckless. Staying away today would be stupid.”
I set the eggs between us. “I didn’t ask you to.”
“You never ask me to.” Her gaze softened. “You ask what I want.”
She turned on her phone.
The screen filled with notifications.
Shay looked at the number of missed calls and set it facedown without opening any.
“That bad?” I asked.
“Daddy called six times. Garrett twice. Bobby sent four messages and a photograph.”
“Of what?”
“I’m afraid to find out.”
“Leave it facedown.”
“I have ten more minutes.”
We ate breakfast while the phone remained silent under her palm.
“Come to Sin & Tonic tonight,” I said.
Shay leaned against the table. “This is suspiciously like another date.”
“It is.”
“Will there be food?”
“Yes.”
“Music?”
“Yes.”
“Any unnecessary permit discussions?”
“Not unless your father comes with you.”
“He won’t.”
“Then we’re safe.”
Her smile changed, warmer and more certain. “I was already planning to come.”
I walked her outside.
The morning sun had climbed above the trees, though the porch still held shade. Shay put her overnight bag in the back of her SUV and closed the hatch.
She turned and slid her arms around my waist.
“Thank you for yesterday,” she said.
“You fixed my gate.”
“I meant the rest of it.”
“I know what you meant.”
She kissed me once, then again as if she wasn’t satisfied with the first.
“I’ll see you tonight,” she said.
“I’ll be there.”
Shay climbed into the SUV and started the engine. I stepped back as she drove down the pale road between the pastures.
Shay hadn’t even reached the open gate, and I already wanted her back.
