I am nobody.

A wolf shifter forbidden to shift.

Since Daddy got sick and died, this is the best life I can hope for. Waiting on my stepmama and her two daughters, caring for the house and garden and, on a good day, walking in the woods outside our home.

I don’t attend the pack runs or parties anymore, and my only joy comes from the animals I encounter on my walks. Somewhere out there is more. I have to believe that.

My wolf is dying, trapped inside me.

And time is running out.
