CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE
Two weeks later
– XANE –
Every moment with this woman is one I treasure, but motherfucking hell...not touching her lush tits is pure torture. Especially now when we’re standing in the shower. So close, so perfect, so easy to lean forward and take her nipple into my mouth. Fuck.
These past two weeks have been a mixture of grief, frustration, anxiety, anger, and a load of comfort with love. We still haven’t been able to close the case with Luisa still out there. The government put a tap on her brother’s lawyer, a good thing since she reached out to him.
She’s aware there’s nothing left for her.
No reason to turn to her brother for help, her husband and her son are dead, and all their possessions have been seized.
One phone call is all we had and the location was a motel at the edge of town.
She’d already left when we had officers at the scene and since then there’s been no damn trace of her.
We all know she’s dangerous. A person who has nothing left to live for always is.
Yet, with a background like Luisa, and her actions on club grounds?
Confronting us to get her son back and lighting Balta on fire?
Hitting the clubhouse with her brother’s men, killing Neo, Stellan barely survived, and my woman in the midst of havoc?
Yeah, I won’t rest until she’s joined her husband and son.
“Don’t you agree?” Z’s voice makes me blink a few times to clear the haze of my rambling thoughts and the stunning view of her magnificent tits.
It’s hard to deny my woman anything and it’s why I grunt without thinking, “Sure.”
Those fantastic tits are now squashed between us and they feel fan-fucking-tastic against my naked chest. My cock becomes painfully hard and it doesn’t go unnoticed. Her lips find mine and it quickly leads to my hands gripping her ass and lifting her.
She curls her legs around my waist, opening her sweet pussy up for my cock. I reach down and slide balls deep in one thrust. We moan at the intense feeling and keep kissing while I slowly fuck her.
Moments like these are pure bliss. Body and mind only focusing on each other while we’re locked inside our own personal bubble. I’m still grateful for the second chance we got in life and pour every single emotion in the kiss I give her.
Fucking is a sharp contrast to making love. Emotions are heightened; intimacy is marked with the adoration lingering in our closeness while we share the pleasure we create.
Her orgasm is close; I can feel it from the way her pussy grips my cock. I shift my hips and make sure to surge up by grinding her clit to create the right friction. My piercing hits the perfect spot inside her and she lights up like fireworks.
Her scream of pleasure bounces off the tiles as I pump a few more times and then stay rooted as I come. Cum rips from my cock and coats her from the inside out. Bliss. Utter and complete satisfaction roars through my veins.
Damn. Each day gets better and better with this woman. The way she stares up at me with her eyes filled with the same love rooted in my heart is making my cock twitch. She gives me a satisfied smile and brushes her nose against mine. My cock slips from her and I slowly put her down on her feet.
“Let’s get coffee along the way, then we’ll be on time to help Ivy and Chopper open the clinic.” Z grins and turns to grab the soap.
I have no clue what she’s talking about. “Open the clinic?”
Z frowns. “Yeah. We just talked about it. I told you how it’s been weeks since it all happened, and how it could be months or years until you guys find Luisa.
I don’t want to put life itself on hold anymore.
That freaking family took way too much from me, from us... I want to live. I asked if you agreed.”
And then it dawns on me...I said ‘sure.’ Fuck. Like I said, it’s hard to deny my woman anything.
I release a sigh. “We’ll get coffee along the way, but I have to make a few calls before we leave to arrange this shit.”
She shoots me another beaming smile and I leave her to wash up while I grab a towel to dry off and then get dressed.
It seems I have to arrange some backup and make a few adjustments.
She’s right. I can hardly keep her locked up for the rest of her life.
Besides, even the clubhouse was attacked by Luisa and her brother’s men.
Luisa might not have the manpower for a repeat action, but I’ll be damned if I underestimate that bitch.
Z is still in the shower when I’m fully dressed and leave the room. I go in search of Roux, who I find lounging on the couch in the main room, playing some kind of game on his laptop.
“Roux,” I grunt and the fucker instantly shoots upright and shuts his laptop, as if I just caught the fucker watching porn.
I frown at the idiot. “What the hell were you doing?”
“Nothing,” he fires back and I swear the fucker’s cheeks flush.
Narrowing my eyes, I tell him, “I couldn’t give two fucks if you were playing a game, any damn game for that matter, or watching porn on that laptop the government paid for. Though, when I ask you a question, I want a straight answer.”
Roux rubs a hand over his face and mutters, “Sometimes I like to play match-3 puzzle games, okay? My favorite is the one with a dancing dino wearing a pink polka dot bikini when you hit the bonus part. Not something I’m proud of, but it sure as fuck wasn’t porn I was watching.”
Now I’m the one rubbing a hand over my face because I really didn’t need to know that.
Stepping over this whole weird conversation, I tell him, “Open your laptop and do a double security check. Here, the clinic, and the fastest route we take to get there.”
I take my phone in hand and call Dion, the vice president of Spence’s chapter who also has a medical license.
He picks up on the third ring. “Dion, it’s me, Grayer. I need a favor if you’re in the neighborhood.”
“What do you need?” he instantly replies.
The sound of footsteps makes me turn and see Z strolling toward me. “My old lady wants to return to work today.”
“Gotcha,” Dion rumbles. “We can be there in half an hour.”
“Appreciate it, brother,” I reply and disconnect the line.
The smile she gives me is like our connection; one in a million...when she says, “Did you manage to make it as safe as you possibly can?”
“I’m still going to make you wear a Kevlar vest and take the bullet proof SUV instead of putting you on the back of my bike,” I tell her.
She sighs overdramatically. “Will I ever get to ride on the back of your bike?”
Roux snorts and I throw the fucker a glare.
Directing my attention back on my woman, I let her know, “You’ll be on the back of my bike soon enough. Probably the same day we’ll head to the courthouse.”
Her eyes widen and I shoot her a smirk right before I turn to Roux. “All clear?”
The sound of crutches makes my head turn in the direction of the hallway. I lift my chin in greeting to Stellan who is walking into the main room. His recovery is going great, even if he probably needs to use the crutches a few more weeks.
“All good. I’ll keep an eye open. Who’s going with you?” Roux asks.
“Me, where are we going?” Fenrin asks as he walks into the main room with Malic right behind him.
“Both of you are coming with us to the clinic. My old lady is going to work for a few hours. Take your bikes, one in front of our SUV, one behind. Malic, you’re going to ride behind us and stop for coffee, you know where.
Now, let’s head out. We’ll arrive the same time as Dion.
” I hold my hand out to Z and she laces her fingers with mine.
Like her, I hate the fact that we can’t take my bike. The reminder of not being able to and the feeling of putting our life on hold is damn frustrating. Who knows, the bitch might never show up, and maybe she will. The uncertainty is maddening.
It’s why I scan our surroundings with hawk eyes even if Roux gave the all clear.
I’m still on edge once we’re safely inside the SUV, and the feeling doesn’t go away until she’s safely inside the clinic.
She’s finally able to do her job and the smile on her face is worth the stress of keeping her safe.
