Chapter Thirteen

Morgan

Morgan noticed another pretty dress in the window of Goddess Gifts & Souvenirs, so she decided to pop over on her lunch break to check it out.

The place was bustling with weekend shoppers.

A lithe young woman with white-blonde hair stepped directly in front of Morgan, seconds after she entered the shop.

“Hello customer!” the woman said with a tight smile. She was wearing nice jeans with a white blouse and had a pink nametag that read Yana.

“Um, hi,” Morgan said. “I saw you have another new dress in the window and–”

“You should leave.”

“But the dress–”

“You should leave and never come back.” The sales associate was not budging, barring Morgan from going any further into the shop. “If you value your life as I value my best friend’s freedom: please leave and never, ever come back.”

“But I’ve shopped here before and–”

“Please!” Yana said, sounding more urgent. “Please leave.”

Morgan looked into the young woman’s dark brown eyes. She was serious. Very, very serious. Morgan had no clue what was going on, but she decided to listen to the woman.

Morgan threw her hands up in surrender. “Okay. I’m leaving.”

“And don’t come back.”

“I won’t come back. Sure.”

Morgan backed out of the store and then stood on the sidewalk in the afternoon heat, feeling stunned.

What the hell just happened? Morgan looked over her shoulder at the pretty floral dress that the mannequin was wearing, standing on display in the shop’s window.

It was such a cute dress. And she owned very few ‘date outfits’.

Things had gone very, very well with Cody on their fishing date.

She was hoping for more dates in the near future, dates that she wanted cute clothes for.

Between work, helping with Gracie, and dating Cody behind Doug’s back, it was difficult to find time to get together with Cody again.

Morgan sighed and walked back to the Food Mart, deciding to end her break early.

She relieved Jolene from the front cash so the part-timer girl could take her own break.

Morgan had noticed Goddess Gifts & Souvenirs had been busy all day, but the grocery store was pretty slow.

There was currently only one customer pushing a cart up and down the aisles: old Mr. Lewis, from the bank.

Morgan turned so she could look out the window, wondering if Cody would stop by soon. She had texted him to let him know Doug wasn’t working today, so she was hoping he’d pop in.

Almost as soon as she thought about him, she looked out the window and saw Cody walking down the sidewalk towards the store.

Morgan’s heart started thumping wildly in her chest and she squeezed her legs together, feeling all tingly and nice in her lower belly and…

well, her pussy. Her brain was saying: take things slow, but her pussy was saying: let’s get naked.

Right now. She really needed more than a thigh ride next time she saw him.

Morgan gave Cody a great big smile and a wave as he entered the store, and he returned both as he made his way over to her. Cody leaned over the counter to give her a quick kiss on the cheek, which ended up making her heart beat even faster.

“Doug’s not coming back anytime soon?” he asked.

“Nope. He’s gone for the rest of the day.”

“And are you sure he’s not watching?” Cody pointed to one of the security cameras.

Most stores nowadays had a camera system set up so owners could easily check in on the footage on their phone.

Food Mart had such a system, but Morgan knew Doug rarely felt the need to check on his workers when he wasn’t around, plus he had certain rules about phones when he was with his daughter.

“Big Brother is not watching,” Morgan confirmed. “He’s with Gracie. Time with her is a strict ‘no phone’ zone.”

“If you say so.”

Mr. Lewis shuffled up to the checkout with his cart, interrupting their conversation.

Cody gave the man a nod and turned back to Morgan: “I gotta get a few things, but we’ll talk when I cash out?”

“Yeah, sure thing.” Morgan shared a smile with Cody and started to scan Mr. Lewis’s groceries.

Once she was done cashing out Mr. Lewis, Morgan idly watched Cody as he pushed his cart around the store.

She watched curiously as he added eight boxes of sugary cereal to his shopping cart.

She didn’t remember him having that much of a sweet tooth back in the day.

He disappeared for a bit in the pharmacy aisle, and then came sailing back out, using his cart as a scooter to steer all the way to her cash register. She shook her head, laughing.

“When can we hang out again?” Cody started to put his stuff on the conveyor and she got busy scanning.

“I’m not sure. Maybe on Wednesday?”

“Wednesday, huh? That’s a few days away. But okay, I’ll take what I can get.”

“Believe me, I wish it were sooner, too.” Morgan grabbed the next item.

She glanced down and realized she was holding a big box of condoms. She felt her cheeks grow exceptionally warm.

It was pretty damn forward of him, but…she had been thinking about how she wanted more next time they got together.

She looked up at Cody through her eyelashes. “Really? You expecting to get lucky?”

“I was hoping…eventually?” He gave her a smile that made her weak in the knees. “Unless you prefer humping my leg. We can do more of that.”

“I um…was hoping to switch things up. And I’m on birth control now, so technically…

” She leaned in closer so she could whisper, even though there was no one else in the store: “We don’t need these.

Because I, um…” She hesitated, even though she knew exactly what she wanted to say.

Cody was waiting on her every word, a smile playing on his lips.

She dropped her voice even lower, in case Big Brother was trying to listen in: “I want to know how it feels when you fuck me raw and cum inside my pussy.”

“Well, fuck…” Cody said with a look of mock surprise that melted into a goofy grin. He grabbed the box of condoms from her and tossed it over his shoulder.

“Hey!” Morgan shouted. “You gotta’ go pick those up!”

But if she was being honest with herself, she always loved the way he knew exactly what to do to make her laugh, like she was right now. Life had dropped a lot of heavy stuff on her the past few years. She really needed to laugh more. It felt good.

“Sure, sure. I’ll go pick them up. But I’m putting them back on the shelf!”

“Good boy!” Morgan called after him as he went to fetch the box of condoms off the floor. By the time she was done scanning and bagging the rest of his stuff, he was back and ready to pay.

“Maybe you can come by my place on Wednesday and I’ll make you dinner,” Morgan offered, raising an eyebrow toward his very odd selection of groceries. It was mostly sweet stuff and convenience foods.

“Are you making fun of my bachelor groceries?” He laughed as he tapped his debit card.

“Yeah, so what if I am? Besides, I don’t remember you liking all this sugary crap.”

“Kind of went without any of this stuff for awhile,” he explained. “So…now that I'm back, I’m going a bit hog wild. I’ll calm back down before I get diabetes. I promise.”

“You were on a strict diet or something?”

Cody shrugged. “Somethin’ like that. One of those eat local, foraging-type diets.”

“Why?”

He shrugged again. “Just because.”

“Well, let me cook you some chicken stir fry? With lots of veggies?”

“It’s a date.” He gave her another quick kiss on the cheek before leaving the store.
