10. Exodus “Yin” Tan #3
“Something like that.” Kirby replied. “They have yet to prove themselves. The higher ups can’t really trust them with bigger jobs yet. Setting fire to a house is the kind of job they’d do. They’re the ones the Maroons send out to shake down store owners for protection money.”
“What does the fire mean?” I asked.
“It means they’re trying to scare her.” Kirby leaned back. “What I don’t get is, why?”
“We think it has something to do with her father.” Yang leaned in to shake some candy from a bag he’d snatched on the way out the door.
“You mean Spinz.” Kirby nodded. “Look, if he’s still alive, he could either owe them money or be working with them. I mean, people have sold their kids for less. And in the gambling world? A gambler would sell their kid for a good hand and a Klondike bar.”
I rubbed my eyes.
I’ll kill him.
“Okay, from what I can find.” Bambam spoke up while pointing at the backside of the coin. “That, is Haile Selassie I.”
“What?” Sam asked.
“If I was to explain him—the patron saints of the Rastafari.” Yang told him.
“So, you’re saying the Rastafari wants Alisha dead?” Sam wanted to know.
“No—I’m saying some very bad Rastafari wants Alisha dead.” Bambam countered. “The Maroons are a group of Rastafari—don’t paint the entire movement with the same brush.”
“As long as we don’t know which ones, I’m painting them all of them with the same shit brush.” I muttered. “We’ll be politically correct later.”
“And I think I know where you should start.” Bambam turned her mini laptop for us to see.
“Yep—this is where I get off this ship.” Kirby held up both hands. “If you need more information, then hit me up. But I don’t do death because I’m a little obsessed with my life.”
“Thanks for your help.” Sam shook his hand.
When we were standing outside in the early night, my wound was throbbing now. While it was scabbed over, it was still very sore.
Yang rested a large palm on one of my shoulders.
“Hey, we got this. But I think you need to talk to Tha’lab.” Yang told me.
Nodding, we stopped to get something to eat, and I insisted on them stopping at Purdy’s afterward. We entered the store right as they were closing then hit the road back to Mama.
At home, we all rushed to shower.
Alisha had fallen asleep on the sofa and Mama was watching one of her many Chinese Dramas. When we entered, she quickly silenced us and pointed to a sleeping Alisha.
After my shower, I left the goodies from Purdy’s in my bedroom then returned to carry her to bed. She woke as I was setting her down.
“Exodus?” She moaned.
I almost climaxed.
The smoke in her voice.
“Mm.” I replied, my face close to hers.
“You smell so good.” She sighed. “How did it go? Did you find anything?”
“Yes, but we can talk about that tomorrow.” I rose and sat beside her on the bed. “I brought you something—a surprise. But since you’re already in bed.”
“Don’t play with me, Yin. Gimme.”
I laughed softly before getting the purple bag. Setting it on her stomach, I waited.
“Purdy’s?” Her eyes lit up. “You went to Purdy’s for me?”
“I figured you could use a pick-me-up.” I skimmed some hair behind her eyes. “Open it.”
She opened the bag gently, not ripping it then tossed herself into my arms.
“I love it.” She cried. “And these are all my favourite chocolates from there. Thank you. But it’s going to go to my hips.”
“I don’t see the downside.”
She blushed and smacked my arm.
Slowly, she removed a white chocolate flavoured and stuck it between her lips. Alisha then leaned forward, tipping her chin for me.
Smiling, I accepted the half of treat with my lips, kissed her around it then sat back to chew.
“This does make me feel a little better.” She admitted. “Thanks.”
“Of course.” I replied. “You don’t have to worry about your house until the fire fighters release it. Are you insured?”
Alisha nodded.
“But I’m kinda homeless now.” She allowed herself another chocolate bite, a different flavour this time.
“Not as long as Sam and I are around. Don’t worry about that.”
“And our date.”
She sounded so sad.
“Didn’t I tell you to let me worry about that? We’re going on that date—it’ll just be a little longer.”
Alisha sighed heavily, closed her treats and set them on the bedside table.
When she gripped my shoulder, I leaned down toward her, wanting nothing more than to make love to her but couldn’t.
I’d promised to give her time.
I was slowly spiralling.
Still, I kissed her deeply, loving the way she sucked my tongue in and moaned when I leaned heavily into her. She tasted so good, like chocolate and peanuts.
I dragged a palm down her side to her thigh then snaked that same hand under her dress. As I kissed her deeper, my hand kept roaming her body, sliding under the leg of her panties until I was able to slide a finger into her.
She gasped and tugged her lips from mine as her back arched and her eyes widened.
“Do you want me to stop?” I slid my mouth to her neck, around to her throat then up to her ear. “Just say the?—”
Alisha dug her nails into my back.
“Deeper.” She sighed. “Please.”
Plunging my tongue into her mouth again, she flicked hers against it, as my finger went deeper, withdrew then deeper again.
She breathed heavily while rolling her hips slowly at first, then faster and faster.
Boldly, I tasted different parts of her body—across her shoulders, her throat, that tender spot beneath her right ear, the wells of her breasts.
I kissed that spot at the top of her shirt, the valley between her breasts but didn’t dare strip her bare.
Maybe I was in fact a coward, but I didn’t dare take more.
Having her like this left me wanting—hungering in ways that threatened to blind me. They overwhelmed every urge I had, every bit of control I wanted to hold onto for myself and take away from her.
I’d promised.
And then it happened.
And I knew what would happen.
I clamped my free hand over her mouth as something warm flowed from her, over my penetrating finger and down my hand.
Her eyes were squeezed tight as her body vibrated, her legs trembled and her hips seemed to be moving all on their own.
Leaning forward, I nibbled at her ear.
“That’s it, Kitty. Come for me.”
Her eyes snapped opened then and when they met my own, she tried turning away.
“No, you don’t.” I smirked. “You don’t get to come on my fingers then be shy about it. I think you like it dirty, Kitty. And I like it. Own it.”
She made a sound underneath my hand.
I pulled the finger away from her and straightened her dress before leaning in to speak with her again.
“I want so much to see what you taste like.” I managed, my voice hoarse to my ears.
“But I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to stop myself.
But trust me, Kitty. One day I’m going to taste you—I’m going to lick you in places that will make you blush.
And when that happens, have no plans to go anywhere, because from your scent?—”
I paused for a deep breath.
“I’m going to enjoy every taste of it.”
She whimpered.
“Get some sleep.” I told her around another kiss. “I’m going to take a very, very cold shower.”
“But—”
“Kitty.” I cooed at her, hovering my lips over hers for another kiss. “Be a good girl.”
