Chapter Forty
Rosalie
The next few days are like living a dream with bright, rose-colored glasses. We hike, swim, eat, and sightsee together. We make the island our own adventure, and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time.
It’s often easy to forget to unwind in my field of work. I spend all year perfecting songs, practicing for tours, and visiting charities. With my busy schedule, I don’t get this kind of downtime. But the guys have helped me relax in every way possible.
The orgasms are mind-blowing, and the free time is filled with hearty laughter and getting closer to them. The bonding isn’t something I expected, but each of them delves into their own personal likes and dislikes.
Maddox hates the sand and beaches, preferring the mountains to any tropical climate. He talks about his family, who moved to Montana to be closer to the wilderness, and how he plans to make a winter trip up there to visit.
“You should come with me,” He says sheepishly as he scratches at the back of his neck. “There’s plenty of space in the cabin. Roman and Kairo visit every year, too. Mom would like the extra company.”
I smile fondly. “I would love that.”
Kairo excels in any sport—any—which is proven time and time again when we decide to play beach volleyball. He loves the outdoors and anything that can keep him active.
“Cup your hands,” He instructs from behind me as his palms close around my knuckles. “When you hit the ball, don’t use your thumbs. Keep them tucked.”
I nod as Roman smacks the ball over the net. Kairo guides my movements, and I gasp when I actually volley it back over the net. “I did it!”
“Good shit!” The blonde chuckles as he wraps his arms around me.
Roman’s is the most surprising of all. Pottery making. He brought his tools with him on our mini vacation and has been crafting different things while showing me the ropes. It’s messy, but I think I’m falling in love with it, too.
He sits behind me on a stool, veiling my back with his chest as his hands cover mine over the wet clay. “Gentle movements.” He purrs in my ear as we mold my first coffee mug.
I bite my lip at the intimacy of this, but stay quiet to keep the innocence of it. Our hands are covered in red clay, and my cup is a little frumpy, but it feels so good to make something with my own hands.
Roman bakes it until it’s hardened, and I laugh as I hold the lopsided cup in my hands.
“What?” He asks, motioning to it. “You don’t like it?”
“No,” I gasp, “I love it.”
I was hesitant about the idea of going on vacation with my bodyguards, but as I make them pose for another selfie with the turquoise waters behind us, I can’t remember why I thought they would be any different than they have been since being reintroduced into my life.
Kairo slings his arm around my shoulder, giving the camera a charming smile that makes my heart flutter.
Maddox holds my hand by his side, choosing to stay more reserved while also still having a connection to me off camera.
Roman has been a really good sport about the multitude of pictures I’ve compiled.
He lingers in the back, choosing not to smile, but he’s still in every shot I get.
It really is funny to see his scowl in every post I upload to my socials. Not to mention the thousands of comments I’m receiving from my fanbase…
Wait, are those her bodyguards or her boyfriends?!
The blonde one is sooo hot.
OMG ARE THE BOYFRIENDS ALSO BOYFRIENDS?
Hate to see someone else living MY dreams. *eyeroll emoji*
Patiently waiting for Entertainment Hills to give an update on the relationship status.
There are also a number of celebrity comments that don’t go unnoticed. The one that sticks out the most has a verified blue check next to it with almost a million likes.
They’re just close. Let me know when you want to give things another shot, Rose.
Chase Bloom, a renowned actor and my ex-boyfriend from two years ago.
He often leaves his honest thoughts and opinions in my comment section, and it doesn’t quiet the buzz surrounding our past relationship.
A lot of my fans hoped we would rekindle our spark.
We were the ‘it’ couple for quite some time until Chase decided that he preferred the club scene over spending time with me.
We grew apart and ended things on mutual terms. He swore he was going to change his ways and get me back.
It’s safe to say, I have no desire to be with him anymore. I respect his presence in the fame industry, but that’s as deep as my affection goes. We haven’t spoken outside of my comment section in years, and I don’t plan to start now.
No matter how many polls my fans put on, whether Chase and I should get back together.
“Who the fuck is that?” Roman peers over my shoulder at my phone. I can hear the jealousy in his tone, and I have to hide my smile.
“An ex-boyfriend,” I shrug. “Not anyone I’m interested in.”
He sniffs, looking away from me. “I don’t see why not. You’re free to do as you please.”
There’s a record scratch in the air as my eyes narrow on him. “Come again? I don’t think I heard you right.”
Kairo glances between us, hissing as he smacks Roman’s shoulder. “There are better ways to do this.”
Maddox scowls at his friend, looking like he’s ready to commit murder.
Roman motions a hand to me, but he doesn’t acknowledge me as he speaks with his companions. “She’s free to do whatever she wants. If she wants to go out with some fucker, who are we to stop her?”
My mouth falls open in shock.
Is he serious right now? He’s the one who hasn’t put a label on what this is, and now he’s telling me to take a hike?
Has the last week not meant a single thing to him?
I put my phone away, clearing my throat. “You know what? You’re right.”
“He is?” Kairo’s head whips around me, as does Roman’s and Maddox’s. Roman’s expression falls, and I see the moment regret flickers across his eyes.
He thinks he’s so slick. Everything has been one big fucking test in his eyes, but I’m going to show him the real test. They want me to choose them, then they need to choose me too. I won’t be the only one reciprocating in this relationship.
“Yup,” I pop the ‘p’ as I head back for the villa. All of our clothes are packed for our flight that’s leaving in the next hour. “It’s a good thing this vacation is over.”
“Thorn,” Kairo calls after me. “He’s sorry! Tell her that you’re just fucking stupid, Roman.”
“No apology required!” I shout back as I slam the glass sliding door shut and grab my things.
I smirk to myself as I pull out my phone and type a quick private message to Chase. If my bodyguards really want to play, then let’s fucking play.
