CHAPTER 37 [BREAKFAST]
Aarohi stepped out of the washroom, her damp hair falling over her shoulders. She paused for a moment—Vihaan was standing near the window, talking on a call, his voice calm yet authoritative.
Ignoring him, she picked up a towel and started drying her hair. The silence between them felt heavy… like something unfinished.
As she turned to go downstairs, Vihaan ended the call and walked straight towards her, blocking her way.
“Kahan chali, biwi ji?”
(Where are you going, Mrs. Singhania?)
“Neeche.”
(Downstairs.)
“Yahin baitho… nashta upar hi aa raha hai.”
(Stay here… breakfast is coming upstairs.)
Aarohi let out a sarcastic laugh.
“Qaid karke rakhna chahte ho?”
(You want to keep me locked up?)
Vihaan’s lips curved slightly, but his eyes stayed unreadable.
“Bilkul nahi… par agar tum meri baat nahi manogi, to ye bhi kar sakta hoon.”
(Not at all… but if you don’t listen to me, I can do that too.)
Aarohi crossed her arms, her gaze sharp.
“Toh, Mr. Singhania… main koi cheez nahi hoon… aur na hi tumhari koi servant hoon… jo tum mujh par hukm chalaoge.”
(So, Mr. Singhania… I’m not an object… nor your servant… that you’ll order around.)
She stepped a little closer, her voice lowering—
“Ek minute… kahin tum ye sab isliye to nahi kar rahe… kyunki tumne mujhe paise dekar kharida hai? Right?”
(Wait… are you doing all this because you bought me with money? Right?)
For a second, there was silence.
Vihaan’s expression didn’t change. His voice, however, turned colder—
“Bilkul nahi, biwi ji… tum meri wife ho… aur isme paise ka koi rishta nahi hai.”
(Not at all, Mrs. Singhania… you are my wife… and money has nothing to do with it.)
He stepped closer, holding her wrist—firm, but controlled.
“Aur aage se ye faltu ki baatein mat karna… yahan baitho.”
(And don’t say such nonsense again… sit here.)
He made her sit on the couch.
Aarohi looked away, but his next words hit deeper than anything else—
“Koi khel nahi khel raha main… tumhari tarah nahi hu.”
(I’m not playing any game… unlike you.)
Her fingers tightened in her lap.
Those words…
They didn’t just hurt—
they reminded her.
Yes… she had started it once.
But he never listened when she tried to explain.
And that… still burned.
Soon, the maid arrived with breakfast. The table was set in silence.
Both sat across each other—
so close… yet miles apart.
Between them—
unfinished truths,
unspoken pain.
Breakfast was over, but the tension between them still lingered in the air.
Aarohi finally gathered the courage and spoke, her voice softer this time—
“Dekho… jo bhi ho gaya hai… lekin Zayan ko tum kuch mat karna, please… use chhod do.”
(Look… whatever has happened… but please don’t do anything to Zayan… let him go.)
Vihaan looked at her, his expression unreadable.
“Aise kaise chhod du use?”
(How can I just let him go?)
Aarohi stepped closer, desperation clearly visible in her eyes.
“Dekho… tum jo bologe main wo kar dungi… par please use chhod do.”
(Look… I’ll do whatever you say… but please let him go.)
A faint smirk appeared on Vihaan’s lips.
“Soch lo… baad mein mat kehna ‘main ye nahi kar sakti’.”
(Think carefully… don’t say later that you can’t do it.)
Aarohi didn’t even hesitate.
“Haan… theek hai… main kar dungi.”
(Yes… fine… I’ll do it.)
Vihaan slowly stepped closer…
closer… until there was barely any distance left between them.
His warm breath brushed against her cheek.
Aarohi’s heartbeat lost its rhythm, her cheeks turning slightly pink. She wanted to step back… but her body refused to move.
Vihaan leaned in just a little more, his voice dropping—
“Theek hai… agar tum itna bol hi rahi ho…”
(Fine… if you insist this much…)
“...toh raat mein tayyar rehna.”
(...then be ready tonight.)
Aarohi frowned, confused.
“Kahin bahar jaana hai?”
(Are we going somewhere?)
Vihaan let out a low chuckle.
“Nahi… tumne kaha na… jo main bolunga tum wo karogi…”
(No… you said you’ll do whatever I say…)
“Toh theek hai… phir jo main bolunga… tum wo karogi.”
(So fine… then whatever I say… you’ll do it.)
His smirk deepened—dangerous, unreadable.
Before Aarohi could understand what he meant…
He turned and walked out, leaving behind nothing but
questions…
Wait for next part.??
