CHAPTER55 [FOOLISH HEART]

The moment Aarohi collapsed...

The doctors and nurses immediately rushed inside.

"Move!"

"Carefully!"

"Head support!"

One doctor quickly checked her pulse while another flashed a light into her eyes.

"BP is dropping."

"She's unconscious."

Without wasting another second, they carefully lifted Aarohi onto a stretcher.

Her head had started bleeding again.

The white bandage slowly turned red.

Vihaan watched everything with trembling eyes.

His heartbeat had become irregular.

"Aarohi..."

He whispered her name.

The stretcher passed in front of him.

Her hand hung lifelessly from the side.

For the first time...

Vihaan realized how fragile she had become.

The doctors rushed her into another room.

The operation room doors closed.

The red light outside turned on.

Everything became silent.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Inside the room...

Doctors immediately started treating her.

"Remove the old bandage."

"Bring fresh dressing."

"Check the head injury again."

One doctor slowly removed the blood-soaked bandage.

The wound had opened slightly because of the fall.

"Clean the wound."

"BP?"

"90/60, sir."

"She's severely dehydrated."

"Prepare one unit of blood immediately."

The nurses quickly inserted another IV line.

Blood slowly started flowing through the tube.

A fresh bandage was carefully wrapped around her forehead.

Even while unconscious...

Her face looked tired.

As if she hadn't slept peacefully for months.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Outside...

Vihaan lay helplessly on his hospital bed.

Doctors had shifted his bed outside Aarohi's room because he wasn't allowed to walk after the surgery.

But his eyes never left the door.

Every few seconds...

He looked towards it.

Every passing minute felt like hours.

His chest still hurt.

His stitches were fresh.

Yet...

The pain inside his heart was much worse.

Anjali gently held his shoulder.

"Beta... kuch nahi hoga usse."

(Take it easy, son... she'll be fine.)

Mr. Singhania also tried to comfort him.

"Doctors dekh rahe hain."

(The doctors are taking care of her.)

Karan stood silently.

He had never seen Vihaan like this.

The fearless Vihaan Singhania...

Who never lost his composure...

Today looked completely shattered.

Vihaan slowly closed his eyes.

"Please..."

He whispered.

"Bas is baar usse theek kar do."

(Please... just let her be okay this time.)

"I promise..."

"Uske baad kabhi usse takleef nahi dunga."

(I'll never let her suffer again.)

For the first time in years...

Vihaan prayed.

Not for himself.

Not for success.

Not for power.

Only for Aarohi.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

After almost an hour...

The door finally opened.

Everyone immediately stood up.

The doctor removed his mask.

"Mr. Singhania."

Vihaan looked at him anxiously.

"Doctor... Aarohi kaisi hai?"

The doctor smiled faintly.

"You don't have to worry."

"She's out of danger."

Everyone let out a sigh of relief.

The doctor continued,

"Dr. Aarohi's body has gone through far too much in a very short period of time."

"First the accident..."

"Then severe blood loss..."

The doctor shook his head.

"Honestly..."

"She shouldn't have even been standing."

"But she ignored every warning."

"Or perhaps..."

"She simply didn't want to listen."

"That's why her body finally collapsed."

He looked at everyone seriously.

"From now on..."

"She needs complete bed rest."

"No surgeries."

"No work."

"No stress."

"If she takes proper care of herself..."

"She'll recover soon."

The doctor gave a reassuring smile.

"But this time..."

"Someone else will have to take care of the doctor."

With that...

He quietly walked away.

Silence filled the corridor once again.

Vihaan slowly looked towards Aarohi's room.

His eyes became moist.

He leaned his head back against the pillow.

A bitter smile appeared on his face.

"The girl who spent her life saving others..."

"Forgot to save herself."

Almost two hours later...

The effect of the medicines slowly started wearing off.

Aarohi's fingers moved slightly.

The heart monitor showed a small change.

The nurse immediately smiled.

"Doctor... she's gaining consciousness."

Slowly...

Aarohi opened her eyes.

The bright white lights made her blink several times.

Her head felt unbearably heavy.

She instinctively tried to touch the bandage.

The nurse gently stopped her.

"Please don't, ma'am."

"You need complete rest."

Aarohi looked around.

"Main... kahan hoon?"

(Where am I?)

The nurse smiled softly.

"Hospital."

"You collapsed after Mr. Singhania's surgery."

Aarohi quietly closed her eyes.

As if she had expected that.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Outside...

The moment Vihaan heard that Aarohi had regained consciousness, a wave of relief spread through his body.

Without thinking, he immediately said,

"Shift her here."

The doctor looked at him.

"But, Mr. Singhania-"

Vihaan interrupted.

"Please."

"I'll be at peace only if she's in front of me."

After discussing it for a while, the doctors finally agreed.

Since both patients required observation, Aarohi's bed was shifted into Vihaan's private recovery suite.

A few minutes later...

The nurses carefully wheeled her bed inside.

Vihaan's eyes never left her face.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The entire Singhania family was still standing in the room.

No one wanted to leave.

Vihaan slowly looked at everyone.

"Maa..."

"Aap sab ghar jaiye."

(Get some rest.)

Anjali immediately refused.

"Nahi beta."

(No.)

"Hum tum dono ko chhod kar nahi jaayenge."

Vihaan smiled faintly.

"Bahar guards hain."

"Karan bhi yahin hai."

"Aap sab subah se yahin khade ho."

"Please... ghar jaiye."

"Fresh ho jaiye."

"Aaram kijiye."

(Have some rest.)

Mr. Singhania also hesitated.

"But-"

Vihaan slowly nodded.

"I promise."

"Agar kuch bhi hua to sabse pehle phone karunga."

After a long silence...

Everyone finally agreed.

Before leaving, Anjali walked towards Aarohi.

She gently tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear.

Then kissed her forehead.

"Jaldi theek ho jaana, beta."

(Get well soon.)

Within a few minutes...

The room became completely silent.

Only...

Vihaan.

Aarohi.

And the soft sound of the monitors remained.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Vihaan slowly turned his face towards Aarohi.

She was sleeping peacefully because of the medicines.

Her face had become pale.

Dark circles had formed under her eyes.

Her lips looked dry.

She looked nothing like the cheerful girl who used to fill every place with her endless talking.

Vihaan stared at her for a long time.

Then...

He whispered to himself,

"Aaj tak..."

"Jis ladki ne sabka khayal rakha..."

"Uska khayal rakhne wala koi nahi tha."

(The girl who spent her whole life taking care of everyone... never had anyone to take care of her.)

His eyes slowly filled with tears.

"Mere liye..."

"Usne itna sab kuch jhela."

(For me... she endured so much.)

"Aur maine..."

"Kabhi uski parwah hi nahi ki."

(And I never even cared.)

His gaze remained fixed on her face.

Vihaan simply kept looking at her.

Her pale face...

The dark circles beneath her eyes...

The lifeless expression she carried...

It felt as if she was no longer living...

She was merely surviving.

And perhaps...

That was the truth.

Life had never truly embraced her.

She had a mother...

But she never received the warmth that a mother is meant to give.

She had a father...

Who loved her with all his heart.

But fate took him away before he could stay by her side.

She found friends...

Yet not every friendship is destined to last forever.

And then...

The man with whom she was supposed to spend her entire life...

Became the very person who shattered her trust.

She spent her whole life putting others before herself.

She carried everyone's pain as if it were her own.

She healed countless hearts.

She saved countless lives.

But when it came to her own life...

There was no one standing beside her.

Perhaps that's why they say...

The heart is the most innocent...

And the most foolish part of a human being.

Once it truly falls in love...

It never learns how to let go.

The other person's pain begins to feel like your own.

Their tears pierce your soul as if they were your own tears.

Sometimes...

One wishes the human heart were made of stone instead.

Perhaps then...

Love wouldn't have been so beautiful.

And it wouldn't have been so unbearably painful.

Today...

Aarohi carried the wounds of love.

And Vihaan carried nothing but regret.

One loved so deeply that she lost herself.

The other realized the value of that love...

Only when time had already slipped through his hands.
