Chapter Thirty
Six weeks later.

“It’s so nice when a plan comes together,” Liv told Colleen. The wedding planner and the matchmaker were on a Zoom call, both of them in their pajamas on a quiet Sunday morning.
“We’re leaving for Mississippi in two days,” Colleen said. “The whole kit and kaboodle of us. We’re taking the Harrington jet and Slade rented a house complete with three nannies just so we can attend the wedding and have a good time.”
“Your husband is pure gold,” Liv said, then took a sip of tea.
“Agreed. I have to tell you, I was beginning to worry things were never going to go anywhere with those two. It’s been forever since I realized they belonged together.
I was sure they’d figure it out way before I left for maternity leave.
It’s been torture not being around to watch the two of them figure out they were in love with one another. ”
Liv smiled. “When Kolby called and asked if he could hire me to woo Charity to his side, I almost slipped and told him I’d already been working with you to do just that.
It was so rewarding seeing him step up to the emotional plate and admit his feelings for her.
And it was providential the speed dating event happened when it did. ”
“I wish I could have been there to see that.”
“Honestly? I was worried for a few moments because Charity looked like she wasn’t buying anything Kolby was selling. When she ran out, I tried calling, but by then she’d already left for the airport. Kolby was distraught that night.”
“I know. I called him as soon as I got off the phone with Charity and told him what happened to her grandmother. I had my fingers crossed he’d ask me if he should go to her, but he was the one who told me he wanted a few days off and was flying down to be with her for,” she air quoted the word, “support. Right then I knew our plan had worked and I thanked the heavens.”
Liv smiled, remembering the ballots she’d received back that night. Every man had checked off Charity’s name.
“Oh, and speaking of that night,” Colleen said, “How is your client? Tom, right? How’s he doing?”
“Fine. I’ve already matched him with his perfect girl and I expect an announcement soon about an engagement.”
“So, HEA’s for everyone. That’s a plus in all our columns.”
“It is.”
The sound of babies crying in the background had Colleen looking over her shoulder. “Okay, well, it’s feeding time again. I’m like an all you can eat buffet for these two. They eat more than the other two ever did. I swear, at this rate they’re going to be toddler-sized at three months.”
Liv laughed, remembering all those years ago when she was a new mother. Some things never changed.
They rang off a few moments later with Liv telling her to enjoy the wedding. “Since you were instrumental in them finding their happily ever after, after all.”
“With your help, dear friend. Don’t forget that.”
With a smile, Liv disconnected. On her laptop she clicked into Charity and Kolby’s file, the one she’d started when Colleen had presented her idea to get the two of them together.
Checking the box labeled HEA, she then clicked out of the program and sat back in her chair to finish her tea.
Yes, she thought as she closed her eyes. It was so nice when a plan came together.
