Julian #4
I crack a smile, his philosophical observation a tad too jarring. But maybe that was his intention. “You would know, wouldn’t you, Your Highness? Kidnapping this unfortunate soul for your own benefit.”
His fingers card through my hair gently. “It’s my understanding that you are the one who benefited most from our arrangement. The only position higher than that of a consort is the one of the king themselves.”
I poke my tongue out. “Maybe down the line. I’m good where I am, thanks. You can have your crown for now, I don’t want it.”
He crouches down until he’s at my height, our faces close to each other. The hand that was stroking my hair moves to my chin, tipping it up. A spike of electricity buzzes through me, feeding that always-present ball of need inside my stomach.
I shut my eyes, opening my mouth slightly. I feel him inch in, slowly and torturously, as anticipation spreads to every cell of my body.
And then… Nothing.
I crack one eye open, my face on fire. His gaze is locked on me, soul-stealing in the way it threatens to ravage me.
“Isi…”
His nostrils flare, the darkness of his pupils expanding. “Tell me,” he whispers, the rumble of his voice only half-restrained.
Fire licks the bumps of my spine, his words like a noose around my neck, both enticing and harsh. He wants me to say it, to ask for what I want. I can’t. I won’t. I’d die before I acknowledge it, before I confess what he does to me when he’s so close.
“What?” I croak, my voice breaking.
“Tell me what you want me to do,” he says, his tone commanding.
I go weak in the knees, thanking the universe that I’m already sitting. His thumb rubs my jaw, then moves onto my lips, dragging a line from one end to the other.
Fuck, he’s too close. I inhale deeply, his scent entering me. He smells so good, so inviting. His mouth is temptingly within my reach, a thread separating us. His hot breath caresses my skin, sending a thousand little shivers across me.
I can’t give in. Not here, not after what I witnessed, not when my mind and body are still under my own control. I close my eyes, looking for something to anchor myself to. I can resist, I won’t cross that line. Yes, I got this. Just take a deep breath and tell him to fuck off.
“Please kiss me.”
His lips slot against mine before my brain can process what I just said.
They taste of blood and flowers, the infusion so potent, I forget why I didn’t want to kiss him to begin with.
His hot tongue is slick and aggressive, pushing inside my mouth the second I let him.
Stars dance behind my lids, each one exploding as he claims more of me, as he sweeps me off my feet with simply a kiss.
A couple of minutes of this sweet torture, and he’s conquered my will to resist. I can’t, not when he tastes so delicious, when his hand holds my head at exactly the right angle so he can devour me, but I still have the option to cut myself free if I wished.
I don’t know how I’m going to rationalize this. How I’ll justify my actions here when I’m alone in my room and my thoughts weigh down on me. Giving in is one thing, asking for it, completely another.
As Isidoro plunders my mouth, my body warms up. My cock pushes against my pants, wet and straining. My abs flex, and my neck feels awfully free.
More, I need more.
Without breaking the kiss as I suck on Isidoro’s tongue and let him explore every inch of my mouth, I grasp his hand and guide it to my neck. I love when he squeezes and holds me down, when he makes it clear he’s in control, that he dictates what happens.
He hums as his fingers close around me, and I can’t help but moan.
Shit, this is such a mistake. But I can’t stop. I want him, I crave him.
We kiss in the middle of the abandoned chapel for what feels like hours, neither of us seemingly in a rush to be anywhere else. His taste fuels the desire in me, but I don’t act out on it, this thing still all too new, too scary for me to do more but go with the flow for now.
“You are the sweetest, most addictive thing I have ever tasted, Julian,” he says when we eventually come apart, the sun no longer visible in the sky.
Darkness has settled around us, the only source of illumination the faint light from the lamps outside. The water under my feet reflects it like a mirror gazing into the abyss, and now that I know what took place here, I’m happy I followed Isidoro inside.
“What are we even doing, Isi?” I say, biting on my lip as the pet name slips out of me.
He purrs, nuzzling my cheek with his knuckles. I decide no correction is needed. “Whatever feels right.”
My heart performs a flip, injecting butterflies into my stomach when he kisses the marks his teeth left on my neck. A nervous laughter leaves me, feeding his fond smile.
This wasn’t part of my revenge plan, the one that’s happening in the near future.
I think I might be a goner, but I pray it’s not too late. He’s my enemy, sort of, an asshole, a bastard, a dickhead. But he’s also my husband, and since we tied the knot, he’s shown me a side of him I didn’t know existed.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I think I’m starting to like that Isidoro a little.
