Matt joins me on the veranda outside my bedroom. Ours, really. I should just have him move his stuff in here. We haven’t slept apart for days. He looks battered and bruised, but whole. There’s a huge bruise on his shoulder that looks really painful, but otherwise, it’s the expected amount of damage after spending hours cage fighting. He sets a gift bag down on the table as he pulls me into a tight hug with a steamy kiss. He smells like my soap, which turns me on to no end. He’s just so fucking sexy.

When he’s sufficiently plundered my mouth, he pulls back, smiling down at me. A sparkle of excitement lights up his eyes, which makes me both happy and relieved. He had fun today. I was concerned he wouldn’t enjoy himself because of what happened last week, but clearly last week’s event did not steal his joy.
