I roll my lips,alternating crossing my left leg over my right instead of the right over left, fidgeting again. My ears stopped popping a few minutes after we took off, and once the pilot’s voice rings out, telling us we’ve made it to altitude, there’s an automatic change in the air.

As amazing as those few minutes with Garrison were in the bedroom before takeoff, we still have unfinished business.
