CHAPTER EIGHT

“ A nimal bonding magic may seem futile in the face of war,” Reaper Lily called out to us across the vast plain of snow where the Raincarvers had been led at dawn, her golden cloak whipping around her in a flurry of motion.

“But Familiarising can create advantages in all walks of life, be it battle or farming the land.”

Rows of war horses were lined up beyond her, the beasts every shade from inky black to purest white. They stamped their hooves in the snow and streams of fog puffed from their nostrils, the heavily-built animals fit for cavalry.
