T rust Fanatic to go to collect something and waltz into a dangerous situation with an unhinged maniac. I couldn’t leave work to check on him, as my case was taking off. I did call in, and he assured me he was fine and to carry on.

Another box had been delivered to the Bureau containing a rat with a kid’s police badge stabbed in it. It was definitely a message, and we were pretty damn sure Juan Ramos was behind it. I had one team out chasing an armed robbery gang who had held up two banks so far. A second team was looking into a sighting of a couple of random Venomous Fangs.

Despite the amount of them who’d died, many had fled, and they were public enemy number one in South Dakota and Florida. Part of my department’s task was to hunt them down and arrest them. I was sending two agents out to track a tip that might lead to the apprehension of some gang members. Gangs weren’t too big in our neighbourhood, but they existed, and we liked to cull their actions before they got their feet under the table.
