“So,” Theo said, leaning over the reception desk the following morning with a delighted smile and troublesome glint in his eye. “How was your date last night?”

“Wha… I… I didn’t…” My stomach roiled and my brain felt like it was short-circuiting as I stared at him, trying to work out how the hell he’d found out. Had he been following me? Or reading my messages? Had he somehow installed secret spy cameras in my house?
