I t’s past midnight when we finally make it to the hotel.

“Here’s us,” I tell Killian when we get to the room I booked for the night. He’s going to have to sneak back in the morning. It’s the school policy or whatever—they’re expected to stay with the team.

“Sweet!” Killian deposits our bags by the floor of the bed, takes his shoes and jacket off, and dives into the king-sized mattress. He lets out a loud, satisfied groan and buries his face in the thick pillows, his shoulders sagging as he gets relaxed.
