I took a breath and turned to face Edward. He’d made himself comfortable in my absence, helping himself to a drink and the view.

I’d ended a long-term relationship over the phone, and I could understand why Edward might want closure. But I was still surprised he’d traveled all this way to try to get it. At least, I hoped that was the only reason he was here.
