I paced around the living room as I waited for Jack and Hana to come. I hadn’t heard from either of them for over an hour, and neither was answering their phone. Something was going on. What did Jack do? Had he taken her away from me once again? I tried looking at Hana’s location, but the app showed that her location was unavailable. I couldn’t sit around and wait any longer—I dialed Billie, the last person she was with.
“Hey, Michael?” she answered after a few rings, confusion clear in her voice.
“Hey yeah, hi, Billie. I know Hana stayed with you last night. Do you have any idea where she is now?” I tried not to sound panicked.
She sighed. “No, I don’t. My roommate said she left late this morning. Don’t you think she would have let you know where she was if she wanted you to know?” Her tone was full of disdain and judgment.
“I’m not sure if you have forgotten or not, but Jack has a tendency to take Hana whenever he pleases,” I spit out.
There was silence on the other end for a moment.
“Sorry, Michael. I don’t know where she is,” she finally replied.
I ran my hand through my hair. “Does your roommate have any idea where she went?”
There was a knock at the door. I held my phone to my ear as I looked through the peephole and waited for Billie to respond. I started seething with anger when I realized who was on the other side of the door.
“No. I gotta go, Michael,” Billie responded and hung up.
I quickly pocketed my phone and opened the door.
“What are you doing here?”
She seemed genuinely shocked that I was speaking to her this way; her eyes widened as she started to frown. She tried to mask it with bravery, but she was failing miserably.
“She’s not coming back. All you have left is me. She knows who you really are.”
I stared at her. What did she do?
“What the fuck do you mean, Jackie?” I spit out, my hands automatically forming into fists.
She scoffed. “What do I mean? Do you not remember these?” She lifted her sleeves, exposing her scars. “Do you not remember forcing me to be your slave? Bribing me to stay? Fucking mutilating me?” She was shaking now.
“You told Hana all of this?” My mind was blank; all I could think of was killing this fucking traitor.
Jackie nodded. “She was terrified, Michael—”
I grabbed her by the throat to shut her the fuck up. “Jackie, little girl. Is that what you call me?” I guided her inside, slamming the door shut with my foot.
Her eyes watered as she shook her head. “I’m sorry, daddy,” she breathed out.
“Where is she?” I squeezed harder.
“I don’t—I don’t—”
I had to let her go if I wanted any answers. I released my hand, and she gasped for breath.
“I don’t know. Does that matter? You have me now. I will serve you, daddy. I love you.” She inched in closer to me.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “Do not speak unless you’re spoken to, Jackie. On your knees,” I instructed.
She thinks I still want her?She really was fucking delusional. She looked up at me with her wide hazel eyes as she got on her knees. She looked so fucking eager. It was something I used to love about her, but now it repulsed me.
“Eyes on the floor.”
She did as she was told.
“You’re willing to serve me completely? Do as I say?” I slowly walked around her in circles. Her chest rose and fell quickly.
“Yes, daddy.”
I thought for a moment. “Call Hana. Tell her you’re a fucking liar. Make her believe you.”
She was silent for a moment. “I can’t. Then she will take you back,” she cried quietly.
“So you won’t obey me. Not a very good little girl, are you?” I hissed angrily.
She continued to cry. I took her by the hair and threw her on the floor. She thought she could ruin me and Hana? I would make her pay.
“Please, daddy,” she cried pathetically from the floor.
“Shut the fuck up!” I yelled, making her flinch. “You have ruined fucking everything, Jackie. You think I would want to be with you after you sabotaged my relationship with Hana? How fucking daft are you?”
I punched the wall in the walkway. I was tempted to tie her up, force her to stay in a cold room upstairs, alone and afraid. But I needed to be a better man for Hana. I needed to show her that I was a changed man. Perhaps I could even convince her that I never did those things. Whatever it took, I was going to find Hana and make her believe me. She would be mine, Jack would be dead, and I would be the man that Hana had worshiped since the first time “sir” came out of her mouth.
