Henry
I sat at the front desk of the station and kicked my feet up. I was still in a state of arousal and shock after what’d happened with Nellie the night before. I’d wanted to chase her down and beg her to slip into the bushes with me. The bushes, the station, whatever. I’d just wanted her alone and looking at me like she had been.
“Yo! I’m fucking hungry!” Hammer shouted from his cell. We’d left the door to the back open so we could hear him but that didn’t mean I actually wanted to hear him.
“Should’ve thought about that before you rudely trashed the lunch I brought you.” Seth grumbled as he sank in the chair next to me. He glared at me with open hostility.
I’d mentioned the dildo scene to both him and Woodrow that morning over donuts and they were both pissed at me, though neither of them was willing to say why. It was obvious, though. I’d gotten my hands on Nellie.
“Stop glaring at me.” I didn’t actually care. I was floating on a high. I could still feel her tits pressed against my chest.
“Stop thinking about it. I can tell. You’re daydreaming about her.” Seth growled and smacked my boots off the desk. He was sure to keep his voice low to stop Hammer from overhearing.
“Where do you think she got a basket full of sex toys?” Woodrow leaned against the desk. “There’s no shop around here. Did someone gift her a basket of them? That’s weird, right? A boyfriend?”
I grimaced. “She was with Vera when I found her.”
“You think Vera gave her sister a basket of sex toys?”
Seth held up his hands. “Let’s stop saying sex toys.”
Right on time, too, since the woman’s big brothers chose that moment to walk into the station. Mills led the way but Tate and West were behind him, looking just as cranky as their brother. It said a lot that I, with my resting asshole face, thought they looked broody.
We all acknowledged each other and then Mills pulled one of the lobby chairs over so he could sit facing us. West and Tate remained standing behind him, both of their bodies tense.
I raised my eyebrows at them. “What can we do for you?”
Mills shifted in his chair, looking uncomfortable for the first time since I’d met the man. “We need a favor.”
I leaned in. “A favor.”
“Just spit it out, Mills.” Tate grunted and crossed his arms.
“Y’all are living with Nellie. You see her more than we do. I know you think I’m an asshole but I’m worried about her. I need her to be safe.” He looked like he was trying to grind his teeth into dust. “We need you to keep an eye on her. Just make sure she’s safe and that the kid’s well cared for.”
Seth gripped the arms of his chair hard. “You think she’s not taking care of her kid?”
West scowled at the back of his brother’s head. “No, that’s not it. That kid is a fucking soldier for her mom and it’s clear Nellie loves her.”
Tate pinched the bridge of his nose. “He meant to let us know if the kid needs anything. We just want to make sure they have everything they need.”
Seth looked like he was working an idea over in his head before he sighed and sat forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “I ran a background check. The couple she lived with after she left here recently died and left her everything they had. She just sold the house and a commercial garage for a pretty penny.”
West smirked. “Seems like all of our sisters are doing well for themselves.”
“Who were they?” Mills looked like he was starving for the information.
Anger had me standing. “If you want to know, talk to her. She’s your sister. You should be having this conversation with her, not us.”
He stood up, too. “I can’t talk to her. I’m… It doesn’t matter. We’re just not meshing right now. I just want you three to stick close to her and keep her out of trouble. It seems to follow her.”
Woodrow shrugged. “It’s not exactly a hardship. She’s nice. Waylan is a fun time, too. You’re missing out.”
I almost felt bad for the three of them for a moment. They looked crushed. It was clear they cared about Nellie but it seemed like none of them had an idea about how to be caring big brothers.
“We’ll figure it out with her. In the meantime, just watch over her for us.” Mills ran his hand through his hair and sighed. “Please.”
Nodding, I cut them some slack. “We’ll stick close to them and make sure they’re safe.”
West narrowed his eyes at me. “Not too close.”
“We’re not losing another sister to a harem of assholes. This shit has to end. I’m starting to think this family is fucked up.” Mills glared at us. “If the three of you want to go find a na?ve woman to screw together, do it outside of my family.”
I grunted. “We don’t do that.”
Woodrow slowly smirked. “Yet.”
Seth threw his hands in the air. “If I don’t get voted Sheriff over these two, this town is going to go up in smoke.”
“Just take care of them.” Mills left with his brothers and then it was just the three of us sitting there.
I wasn’t completely sure but I felt like we were all thinking about the same thing. A reverse harem. The three of us with one woman. Without a doubt, I knew who we’d all been thinking about. Nellie Hellstone. I’ve never considered sharing a woman and I’d never even had a threesome, so I wasn’t sure why the idea was suddenly banging around my head like a toddler with a set of pots and pans but it was.
Seth cut me off as I started to open my mouth. “No. Don’t go there.”
“So, we are all thinking about the same thing.” Rolling my shoulders, I stopped and cracked my neck. “Well, shit.”
