Chapter Thirteen

Kennedy

Being sandwiched between Wyatt and Alden on the couch watching old black-and-white movies eased the last bit of stress from my body. We had showered, immediately fallen back into bed for round two and then rinsed off again. After fighting feelings for so long, the physical release brought an emotional one as well.

“Quit hogging the blanket, Wyatt.” I tugged it toward me.

“Move closer to me so we can share it. I’m quite good at sharing, you know,” he said suggestively.

I scooted completely into his lap and Alden shifted so that all three of us were touching again.

“I sort of like you.”

“Sorta?” He leaned down, kissing me deeply.

“I may actually love you.”

“May?” Wyatt cracked up. “Did you hear that, Sir? I take one punch and now she’s got little floaty hearts spinning ‘round her head.”

Alden grinned. “I think our girl has loved you for longer than she’s let on.”

“And what about you?” Wyatt waggled his eyebrows.

“Oh, she’s definitely loved me longer,” Alden said but his tone was sincere rather than cocky.

“Daddy!” I smacked Alden’s arm and he rubbed the other one. “You’re right.”

“As usual.” Alden cupped my face.

“I love you, Daddy,” I admitted. Though I may have said it to him before, I’d never coupled it with a title.

“I love you, babygirl,” he said, his eyes shining with sincerity.

“I’m not as sentimental,” Wyatt spoke up, his voice thick with emotion. “I love you too, Kennedy.”

“I know.” I had to be sassy even when the moment was important.

“Brat.” He poked my side until I giggled.

“I love you both,” I said happily. “So much.”

Wyatt loved me in a way I hadn’t expected. All those nights spent wishing on shooting stars led us here. In a way, we’d put the blinders on to each other just as we had done to Alden. Wyatt had laid it out, his heart, his plan, everything, but I’d been focused on other things. Focused on his lack of commitment all these years. I wouldn’t underestimate either of them ever again. Not when everything felt right in their arms. One reckless decision led me back to my destination: two Daddies who wouldn’t allow me to run wild anymore. Two Daddies who were committed to our throuple. Their dedication to us brought me serenity, a feeling I wasn’t used to. Adored. Cherished. Worthy. Emotions I’d never believed I’d experience. Despite my initial concerns, nothing felt better than belonging to them. I loved them wholeheartedly in different ways. Alden had been my crush forever, the man I’d always wanted but never thought I’d land. My friend, my supporter. He’d step into whatever role I needed for years and now he was officially mine.

Wyatt had been something else entirely. But when push came to shove, he rose to the occasion, showing me how much he cared. It took a change of heart and perspective shift to see what had always been right in front of me. I made a vow to myself to be the best girlfriend to them, to be more understanding. To be patient with them as much as myself as I leaned into our new dynamic. Together the three of us would build each other up instead of jumping into defense mode. Alden would balance us, no matter what it took. My handsome, daring, decorated Daddies loved me unconditionally. And in their arms I found everything I’d been searching for.
