Chapter 15

15

DARREN

P reacher’s men were still in Taos which meant everyone was still spinning their wheels.

With the Black Horsemen in town, Darren spent less and less time at the clubhouse. He had no desire to answer the multitude of questions that were sure to come his way once they got the news he’d been taken by the Phantoms. And it was only a matter of time before they found out that he’d been drugged and even more questions would ensue as to how he was handling it.

He wasn’t fucking handling it. As a matter of fact he’d finally given up on fighting the urges caused by the drug. He’d reasoned that maybe if he fucked it out of his system, he could go back to being normal again. He’d come to the point he was willing to try anything.

He’d gotten several texts and voicemails from Tuck and Kylie which he still hadn’t read or listened to. If he was going to fuck up his life royally, he wasn’t going to bring them down with him. He’d been avoiding the clubhouse because he didn’t want to chance getting cornered by either of them. He would only return when they called church to plan the take down.

He’d opted to give his room to Chance and gotten a room at one of the local motels. It wasn’t the best, it wasn’t the worst, but it served his needs. A place to sleep and shower. Today he was adding fucking to the list of essentials for this room. He’d gone with blowjobs for the first night he’d come here. Since then he’d moved on to fucking. He’d brought two other women here in two days. Neither one could keep up with his appetite. After they’d come three or four times, they’d tap out.

Darren had picked up a woman this afternoon at a bar down the street from where he was staying. The place had been decorated in black and orange streamers, witches hats on the tables and glittery bats hanging from the ceiling in honor of Halloween. He’d gone there to get something to eat and she’d sat down on a bar stool right next to him just as he was finishing. He bought her a drink, asked if she wanted to fuck and brought her here. Picking up women had never been a problem before and it didn’t look like it had changed. She was a beautiful woman with long black hair, blue eyes and a rockin’ body. She wasn’t Kylie.

With every passing day, he hated himself more and more. His need for vengeance burned hotter and deeper with each new sunrise.

He parked his bike in front of his room and waited for the woman, he thought her name was something like Macy or Stacy or Tracy, he couldn’t remember. It didn’t matter anyway. They were there to fuck, not talk. Once they’d gotten their fill of each other, he’d call an Uber to take her home just like he’d done with the other women he’d brought to his room. He always made it clear before anything ever happened that it was a one and done kind of thing. There would be no repeats. And when he was once again all alone in his room, he’d get drunk and pass out.

He was finding it harder and harder to look in the mirror. When he looked into his eyes all he saw was guilt and shame. This wasn’t the man he once was. Crockett and RIP had ruined everything. If they didn’t get news back from Preacher’s men soon, Darren might take off on his own and see if he could get his hands on those two.

He offered his hand so Macy, Stacy, Tracy could get off his bike, then climbed off behind her. He walked the few steps it took to get to his door and unlocked it. He entered, knowing she would follow behind him. He dropped his keys on the nightstand and plugged up his phone while she stood just inside the door checking out the room. “You wanna drink?” He motioned to the bottles of tequila, whiskey and gin setting on the table near the window.

“Sure. Tequila.” She dropped her purse in a chair. He handed her a shot in one of the two plastic cups the motel provided. He tossed his back and gritted his teeth against the burn. She sipped from her cup then set it aside on the table. “So,” she hesitated.

“Strip. We came here to fuck. Let’s get to it.” He reached behind his neck, grabbing for the collar of his shirt and pulled it over his head. He was reaching for his belt and she still hadn’t started removing her clothes. He arched a brow at her which kicked her into gear. She kicked off her heels and removed her shirt, revealing a lilac colored bra. Just as he thought, she had more than enough to fill it out. She shimmied her jeans down her legs and kicked them to the side. One side of his mouth kicked up seeing her panties matched her bra. He unfastened his jeans and slid them down, stepping out of them.

He stood up and watched her eyes widen at his hard cock. Yeah, he got that reaction a lot. He wasn’t bragging or anything, but God had been good to him where his dick was concerned. She licked her lips while her hungry gaze took him in from head to toe.

“Like what you see?”

“Mmmhmmm.” She nodded her head enthusiastically.

“Then get rid of the bra and panties so we can get to it.” He walked toward the nightstand to get a condom. Never in his life had he gone ungloved except for Kylie and well, Sadie. He ripped the package open then slid the condom over his throbbing cock. He stayed where he was and crooked a finger. “Come here.”

She went to him like she was powerless not to obey him.

Normally, this was where he’d tell her to suck his dick, but he was already rock hard. He needed her to catch up so they could fuck. He turned her so her back was to his front, his dick nestled in the small of her back. He shifted her long black hair over one shoulder, giving him access to her neck. Darren wrapped one arm around her to fondle and grope her tits and the other slid slowly down her stomach, cupping her trimmed pussy. He slid his hand between her legs, using his finger to tap her clit, causing her hips to jerk. Her breathing quickened as one finger dipped into her pussy. He was more than happy to find her already wet. He pinched her nipples and kissed her neck while adding a second finger. He worked her hard until she was gushing in his hand.

“Bend over the bed.” He spun her so her hands settled on the bed, her ass pointed toward him. He lined himself up and pushed in with one hard thrust. She gasped and shuddered. He knew she was ready for him so he set off in a quick pace. He hammered at her until she, unable to hold herself up any longer, collapsed onto the bed. It didn’t stop him. Still balls deep, he held onto her, put a knee to the bed and scooted her forward so that she was lying crossways in the middle of the bed, on her stomach. He picked up the pace until he was damn near drilling her into the mattress. Thanks to this goddamn drug he was ready to come at any time, but he wanted to make sure she got something out of it, too. He waited until he felt her inner muscles starting to milk his cock and knew she was close to coming. He slipped his hand beneath her so he could get to her clit with his fingers. He pinched her clit and she screamed into the mattress as she came apart beneath him. Thank fuck. He gave himself permission to come and held on for the body-shaking orgasm that always came. It always left him feeling like he was going to pass out from the force of his release. The only upside to the drug, if one could be found, was that it always made him come hard and it felt like it would go on for forever. Everything else about the drug, he despised.

He pulled out and went to dispose of his condom. When he got back to the bedroom, he found the covers pulled down and Macy, Stacy, Tracy sitting up against the headboard, a huge smile on her face.

Her eyes dropped to his still hard cock and groaned. “Lucky me. You’re ready for round two already.”

He grabbed another condom and rolled it on. “Yeah, are you?”

KYLIE

Kylie was bouncing her leg under her desk, needing to pee so bad she was afraid she might not make it to the bathroom in time. Finishing with the coding she’d been working on, she groaned as she got to her feet. “Okay, okay, kid. I got it. I’m going to the bathroom now.” She rubbed her belly as she speed walked to the bathroom designated for visitors. Normally, she would have gone to Darren’s room to use the bathroom since she didn’t have one in her office. Unfortunately, Chance from the Black Horsemen MC was staying in it while they all waited. Tuck hadn’t said much about what they were waiting on other than it could lead to them dealing with the Phantom Furies once and for all. Personally, she hoped it was sooner rather than later because not only was she tired of looking over her shoulder and needing a chaperone everywhere she went, she just wanted them gone and out of their lives forever. And yes, she knew exactly what she was thinking.

As she finished her business and went to wash her hands, she couldn’t help but think about what an idiot Darren was for giving up his room in order to avoid talking to her. She had no idea where he was staying or how he was doing. Her guess would be that he wasn’t doing well at all. She wasn’t stupid or naive enough to believe he wasn’t with someone, either. She’d talked to Bacon again and he’d told her about the second drug Crockett had mixed with the Euphoria he’d given Darren. He explained how the drugs would be affecting him and although he tried to soften the blow, he told her he’d need to have sex to relieve the pain. She’d gotten off the phone and cried her eyes out. When Tuck asked her what was wrong, she’d refused to tell him. If she ever figured out where Darren was staying, she was going to have it out with him once and for all.

She threw her paper towel in the trashcan and decided to stop by the kitchen for a bottle of water on her way back to her office. She found the door partially open, but she stopped herself from entering when she caught the sound of heated male voices coming from inside. She really didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but when she heard Darren’s name mentioned, she couldn’t help herself. Maybe she’d find out where he was staying? She checked up and down the hall to make sure no one was around to catch her, then leaned a little closer to the opening.

“You sure it was Darren?” Tuck’s voice had an angry edge to it.

“Positive,” Trick replied on a heavy sigh like he hated to be the one giving him bad news. “Me and Jackson were on our way here when we passed by the Red Oak Inn. We saw him getting off his bike with some woman before they disappeared inside a room.”

Kylie felt as if someone had stabbed her in the chest. Was he serious? He saw Darren going into a motel room with another woman? In his current state? Her eyes started to water, but she wasn’t sure if it was from how badly she hurt or how completely pissed off she was getting.

“Goddamn it. What the fuck is he thinking?” The sound of something crashing loudly into the wall, then clattering to the floor made her jump. Did someone just throw a pan?

Tuck’s question had to be rhetorical because she doubted anyone had a clue what was going on in Darren’s head since he’d come back to town. From what Tuck said, he wasn’t just avoiding the two of them, he was doing a good job of avoiding everyone else in the club, too. The conversation going on in the kitchen only confirmed exactly what she’d been thinking all along. Neither she nor the club should have given him space. It just gave him too much time in his own head and made it easier for him to pull away.

She was done with this shit. She loved both her men, but sometimes they drove her nuts. One thought he was sparing her by taking other women to his bed and the other thought he was sparing Darren’s feelings by not confronting him about the video. Well, she’d had enough. She’d reached her limit. It was time to take matters into her own hands.

“Are you going to tell Kylie?” Jackson asked.

“Fuck, no! She’s been through too much shit already. I can’t pile that on top of everything else. She’s pregnant.”

Oh my God! “She’s pregnant” was his excuse for keeping this from her? The more she listened the angrier she got. She went back to her office to grab her purse. She started to leave, but went back to her desk to get one more thing.

On her search for one of the prospects, she was shocked to see the common area so empty. Where was everyone? You’d think a clubhouse currently entertaining two clubs and gearing up for a Halloween party would have people all over the place. Yet, there was not a single Son or Black Horsemen in sight. She supposed with no one around it would make her escape easier.

She really wanted to follow the rules and take a prospect with her. She’d messed up so badly with the whole Crockett email thing and didn’t want to do something else to make Race mad. She thought for sure he would give her some kind of punishment for stepping over the line so far. She’d heard that was what he did when one of the brothers did something like that. Kylie glanced toward the hall to make sure no one was coming her way. So far, so good.

Time was running out and she couldn’t wait around forever for a prospect to come along. Tuck would eventually come looking for her and she was determined to have her confrontation with Darren. No one was changing her mind. She had to get out of there. Heading for the door, she reasoned that if she found Miles or Cutter between here and her car, she’d ask them to go with her. If not, she was going anyway. Pushing through the door, she almost slammed right into Cutter.

“Whoa! Where you off to in such a hurry, Kylie?” With his quick reflexes, he grabbed her by her upper arms, keeping her from tripping backward and possibly landing on her butt.

“Oh, thank God. I need you to come with me.”

“What?” Cutter asked.

“Come on. You can drive.” She tossed him the keys to her car, then moved to get in on the passenger side. She wasn’t giving him an opportunity to turn her down or ask too many questions. She had to hide her grin when he mumbled, “Damn it. She’s gonna get my ass beat.”

He got behind the wheel and started the car. “You wanna tell me where we’re going?”

“We’re going to the Red Oak Inn.”

“What?” he choked.

“You heard me. Let’s go.”

He backed out and made it through the gate. He kept glancing her way, his brow furrowed like he wanted to say something, but wasn’t sure if he should. Finally, his curiosity won out. “Are you having an affair?”

“What?!” Her eyes rounded and her jaw dropped open as she turned toward him. “Why would you ask that knowing I’m with two men already and one of them knocked me up? And why on Earth would I bring you along if I were?”

Taking a right turn at the stop sign, he replied, “I only asked because the Red Oak Inn is where middle class people go to have an affair.”

“I’m not having an affair, you idiot. I’m going to confront Darren.” And hopefully get him to come home. If it didn’t work, maybe she’d bring in reinforcements in the way of old ladies and broom sticks. She was ready to try anything at this point.

She hated that by asking Cutter to come along with her, she was putting him in a rough position. His loyalty was being split. He knew he was supposed to watch over the old ladies like they were his own, but he was also supposed to be club and brother first. If Darren wanted to, he could cause a lot of problems for the prospect. She would just have to make sure he didn’t.

Nearing the motel, he slowed to take the turn onto the lot where she directed him to pull over in front of the registration office. Turning halfway in her seat, she said, “I need you to swear that everything you’ve seen or heard up to this point, and whatever is about to happen next, stays between you and me.” Cutter didn’t look happy with her request. “Please, Cutter?”

He sighed heavily. “Am I going to get my ass kicked over all this?”

She wanted to say ‘no,’ but she honestly didn’t know. She’d do her best to keep it from happening, though. Cutter had only ever been nice to her and she’d hate to see someone beat him up for what she was about to do.

“I know I’m asking a lot and I’m sorry.” He turned to stare out the windshield. “I’m trying to get Darren to come back to all of us.”

“Okay. I swear I won’t say anything to anyone, but if someone kicks my ass, meaning that big ass Darren, you have to nurse me back to health.”

“I promise I will, but I don’t think Darren’s going to kick your ass.” She tried to reassure him while squeezing his hand in gratitude. “I need to go inside and get the key to his room. I’m not taking any chances that he’ll shut the door in my face.”

“No. I’ll go get it. You stay here and lock the doors. The tinted windows should keep you from being seen.” He climbed out and waited for her to hit the locks. He made sure to survey the surrounding area before going inside. When he climbed back in, he handed her the key card and had to wait for a car to drive by before he could back out. He drove them down several doors, then pulled into a parking spot in front of room 164. He pointed to the door right in front of them. “That’s his room.” He turned toward her. “You sure you want to go in there? You want me to go in with you?”

“No. I’ll be fine. Just wait for me here.”

Before she could talk herself out of it, she exited the car and stood outside Darren’s door. Her hand was shaking so much she was barely able to get the key card in the lock without using the other hand to hold herself steady. She held her breath as the lock released. Slowly pushing the door open, she came to a complete stop. Her breath locked in her chest and she thought she might get sick. She quietly closed the door behind her and just stared, taking it all in at once. It took her a moment to process, but once she did, she still couldn’t believe what her eyes were seeing.

What. The. Fuck?

Darren was lying in the middle of a rumpled bed with a woman riding him like her life depended on it. The woman was moaning and had her head thrown back, her long black hair almost touching Darren’s thighs. Her hands were settled over Darren’s as he gripped her tight at the hips, helping her move up and down his length faster. She must’ve been in shock because in some fractured part of her brain, Kylie thought she should give the woman a ten for effort if not for form.

The blankets had been kicked to the floor at the foot of the bed and the sheets were tangled, half on and half off. Half empty or nearly empty bottles of alcohol were strewn about the table near the door and on the nightstand. Her heart tripped hard as her eyes landed on more than one opened condom wrapper.

As she continued to watch the man she’d given the other half of her heart to having sex with another woman, completely oblivious to the fact that another person had entered the room, she saw red. Blinding anger quickly took the place of hurt and betrayal. It was like tossing a match on gasoline.

“Honey, you have really pretty hair, but if you don’t get off my man, I’m going to yank it all out.” The couple instantly stopped and turned to see her standing next to the door.

“Kylie? What the fuck?” Darren’s voice was strangled, his brows dipped as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Well that made two of them then. And if he didn’t get his goddamn hands off that fucking bitch, she didn’t know what she was going to do.

The woman looked back at Darren, probably wondering what the hell was going on. Before Kylie realized she was doing it, she pulled the gun she’d gotten from her desk out of her purse and cocked the pistol. The sound was loud enough to be heard over the blood pounding in her ears as well as the couple’s labored breathing.

“One.” She pointed the gun at the bed. “You better hope I don’t get to three. Two.” The girl climbed off Darren so fast, she almost face-planted over the side of the bed in her haste to extricate herself from Darren’s hard cock. At least he wore a condom.

The woman grabbed her clothes and started yanking them on sans bra and panties. Those she shoved into her purse. Grabbing her shoes, she eased toward the door Kylie was still standing in front of. Mentally slapping her forehead, she moved away enough to allow the woman to escape. She could just imagine Cutter’s face when he got a look at the woman fleeing from Darren’s room. She’d have to remind him that that would be one of the things he swore never to talk about.

“Kylie,” Darren started once the woman cleared the door. He’d managed to get himself to the side of the bed and on his feet, holding a pillow in front of him.

“Oh, no, no, no, no! Don’t even start with whatever bullshit you’ve concocted in your head as a reason why you’re not at home right now fucking me .” She shook her head for emphasis and lowered the hammer on the gun, then pointed it toward the floor. “You are such a dumb ass.” Her emotions had been riding a roller coaster for way too long and she was tired. She just wanted to go home, go to bed and not wake up until everything was back to normal. She was tired of constantly fighting to keep her family together. Would things ever go back to being easy again?

“What are you doing here? How did you find me?”

Darren’s question pulled her out of her pity party for one. “I found you because I heard through the grapevine that a couple brothers saw you walking into a room with a woman and I had to see it for myself. I wanted to see who you were so willing to throw us away for.”

He clenched his teeth so hard, a muscle in his jaw ticked. His hand fisted in the pillow like he wanted to tear something apart. She wasn’t worried about him ever laying a hand on her, though. He’d cut off his own hand before ever laying one on her.

“You shouldn’t be here. It’s not safe. The Phantoms are still out there.”

“Well, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you ,” she commented snidely. She watched his shoulders slump in shame so she threw him a bone. “Cutter brought me. He’s waiting in the car. And just so you know, not you or any of the other brothers are going to kick his ass for bringing me here. He knew he was risking everything with the club, but came with me anyway to make sure I was safe.” She shoved her gun in her purse then she asked, “Why didn’t you come home when you got back?”

“I already told you, I don’t want to hurt you.”

“You already are!” She deliberately let him hear the pain in her voice.

“Goddamn it!” He slung the pillow across the room, knocking bottles to the floor then rubbed his hands across his face. “I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you.”

“Too damn bad! You already did when I walked in here and saw that woman riding you like she was auditioning for a rodeo.” She paused, her eyes drifting to the nightstand behind him. “I’m guessing given the number of condom wrappers, you fucked her more than once?” She really wished he’d pull his jeans on or grab the other pillow off the floor to cover his dick. He was still hard and she couldn’t help but wonder how much pain he was in or how much worse it was going to be since he didn’t get to come. When had he taken the condom off?

“Kylie,” he frowned deeply. “You don’t want the answer to that.” Noticing her eyes dropping to his exposed dick, he reached for a discarded towel and wrapped it around his hips.

“Yes, I do,” she argued, crossing her arms over her chest and cocking a hip.

“No, you don’t. Thinking something and knowing it for a fact are two different things.”

“Tell me!”

“Fine! I picked her up in a bar and brought her back here. I fingered her until she got off. I fucked her from behind, then I let her rest before I fucked her again. We were just getting started on another round when you walked in. Happy now?!”

“Quit being a dick!”

“What do you want me to say, Kylie?! You asked what we did,” he threw his hands out to his sides.

“I know about Sadie,” she blurted out.

“What? Who the fuck told you?” She saw murder in his eyes and knew it was toward whichever brother he thought told her.

“I saw the video of the two of you fucking.”

“The fuck? There’s a video?” he choked.

“I had Crockett’s wife’s car repossessed and told him his house was next if he didn’t let you go. Because I fucked up, he sent the video.” She felt bad for the pain she saw in his eyes, but she was fighting with everything she had to get him to come back to her, to come home. She’d never be able to forget what happened, but she loved him so fucking much and couldn’t imagine her life without him in it that she’d forgive him. Other people might think she was being a doormat and forgiving him too easily, but the fact of the matter was he never would have had sex with other women if not for Crockett. And yes, the idiot truly believed he was doing the right thing by not coming home and subjecting her to the “side effects” of the drug. To those people who thought to criticize her decision she would say, “Fuck off. It’s none of your goddamn business.”

She took advantage of his shock and declared, “All right. Now, here is how things are going to go. You’re coming home. But first, we’re going to make a pact. When we leave here there will never be any mention of what happened between the time you were with Sadie and right now. You will never fuck another woman again. Whenever you find the need to fuck, you come to me.”

Darren opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off.

“I’m not done! The way I see it, it’s really simple. Since we live together and work together, you will come to me anytime you need me. You will not run off to fuck someone else thinking you’re protecting me. That bullshit only made sense in your head.” She took a deep breath before going on. “You will take a shower, a long, hot shower, pack your shit and get your ass home by dark. If you don’t agree to these terms, we are done. There are no second chances.”

“Kylie.”

“Did you hear what I just said?!”

“Yes.”

“Do you agree to these terms?!”

“I,” he started but was cut off again. She wasn’t giving him an inch.

“Yes or no?! Do you agree to these terms?”

“Yes! I agree to these terms! But Kylie, I think you need to know what you’re inviting back into your bed.” He pulled the towel off and dropped it to the floor. His dick was rock hard and pointing straight toward her. It was swollen and red and the skin looked so tight she worried the skin my split. No wonder he was in such pain all the time. “Ever since they shot me up with that fucking drug, my dick is hard all the damn time. I can’t even stand for a towel or a sheet or even my jeans touching it. It makes me so fucking horny all I can think about is getting off. Not just once or twice a day, but several fucking times a day. Do you really want me fucking you that many times in a day? Bacon says he has no idea how long that shit will be in my body.”

“Yes. If that’s what you need, I’ll gladly do it.”

“Kylie,” he spun on his heel and paced toward the bathroom before turning back, his dick swinging the whole time. “I don’t just fuck. I rut like a fucking animal half the time. Like those fucking animals in the cells next to mine.” He abruptly cut himself off as he realized he was telling her about his captivity.

For now she would let it slide, but she was going to get him to tell her about what happened while the Phantoms had him. He needed to talk to someone about it or it was going to eat away at him forever.

“Are you sure you still want me to come home?”

“I can’t believe you even have to ask. I love you, Darren. I will always love you. If you love me half as much as you used to tell me, you’ll get your ass home before dark.” She picked up her purse and headed toward the door.

“What are going to tell Tuck?”

She had to think about that. She really wasn’t sure how much or if she would tell him anything at all about what just went down here. “I don’t know yet.” Completely emotionally drained, she turned the door knob and let herself out. Now she was going to have Cutter take her home so she could calm her nerves. If she wasn’t pregnant, she’d go home and have a couple of beers. Instead, she was going home and eating a tub of ice cream.

She got back in the car and literally felt the adrenaline melt away like butter in the summer sun. She had no energy left and wasn’t sure how she was going to get herself in her house.

“How did it go? I saw a woman come running out of the room. She looked scared shitless.”

“That might have something to do with me pulling a gun on her. And I think I’m okay for now.” She rubbed her eyes. “Can you please take me home?”

“Sure, Kylie. What about Tuck?”

“I’ll text him on the way and tell him I wasn’t feeling good and had you take me home when I couldn’t find him.” Of course, he was going to ask why she didn’t text him. Oh well, she’d deal with it later. Right now, she had a tub of Cherry Chocolate Chunk ice cream calling her name.
