10. Chapter Eight

CHAPTER EIGHT

BETSY

“ H e just had to make me take a nap,” she grumbled as she sat up.

Betsy wasn’t happy. She didn’t want to take a nap and Daddy had made her. Didn’t even give her a choice.

“So stupid. Naps are dumb and I don’t need them.”

She grabbed Mikey and held him in front of her. She had woken up with a pacifier in her mouth, snuggling up to Mikey. The little cot was surprisingly comfortable with the soft blanket wrapped around her.

Betsy remembered him sitting down in a rocking chair, slowly rocking back and forth while running his hands through her hair. She tried fighting it for as long as she could, but Daddy wasn’t playing fair. He must have magical powers to put herself to sleep.

But how? How had he managed to do it?

“Mikey, it wasn’t very nice of Daddy to do that,” she grumbled.

He blinked at her several times.

“Don’t give me that look. You know he played dirty in putting me to sleep. Pacifier to suck on, you in my arms as he rocked us slowly.”

So not fair.

She glared at Mikey. “Are you on his side or my side?”

Mikey didn’t say anything.

“You can’t be on his side! I’m your mama. I’m so shocked you are going to side with him. Why? Do you know how sad that makes me?”

Blinked several times, she tried to get everything under control. She was not going to cry in this situation. She needed to show Mikey she could be strong even though he hurt her feelings.

“Do you know how much time has passed since I fell asleep?” Betsy asked.

Mikey could have been on the lookout for her, keeping track of time.

“What do you mean you fell asleep? Mikey! You are supposed to be on the lookout when I am sleeping in a place I have no idea where we are.”

But you were so comfortable and I had a hard time not falling asleep. Mikey replied.

She sighed. “I guess that is a valid excuse. We were cuddling but still. I need you to be strong and be on the lookout if he puts me to bed again. What if he does something?”

He’s not going to do anything. He hasn’t done anything yet which means he won’t now. He’s told you that you are safe.

“We don’t know if he is telling the truth or not. For all we know, he could be lying to us just for us to get comfortable.”

I’m not alive.

She gasped. “How could you say that! You are alive! You are Mikey. You have taken care of me so many times. You have looked out for me and given me some really good advice.”

Mikey didn’t reply to her though. Betsy knew he wasn’t actually alive, but he was a good friend of hers. She considered him family. He had been through so much with her.

“Okay. Fine. I see how it is.”

She sighed and looked around. His desk was right in front of her with an empty chair. Why had he put her in this room? Did he not want her in his own bed? Was she too dirty for him? Betsy had taken a shower the night before he took her.

“When I see Daddy, I’m going to give him a piece of my mind. Well, after I–”

“After you what?”

Daddy stood in the doorway, giving her a smile.

“How did you sleep? Was it enough or do you need to sleep some more?”

Did she need to sleep some more? Did he seriously just ask her that question?

Betsy folded her arms over her chest. “Do I need to sleep some more,” she mumbled, clearly offended by what he had just asked.

“How did you sleep? You were asleep for two hours. I had thought about waking you up earlier, but I figured you needed the sleep if you went to sleep so fast.”

She glared at him. The only reason she fell asleep so fast was because he was rocking her and put a pacifier in her mouth. Anyone in that situation would have fallen asleep just as fast.

“Baby?” he gently asked. “Is everything alright?”

Betsy looked away. When he talked in that gentle tone, she wanted to answer his questions. She wanted to speak to him and talk. She was getting more comfortable around him than she should and it hadn’t even been that long.

She needed to get a better grip on herself. There was no reason for her to be this comfortable around him. Not when he kidnapped her and wanted to harm her. Had he forgotten about that?

Betsy hadn’t.

Well, she briefly had forgotten but she was trying to remind herself so she didn’t forget.

“Baby?”

She huffed out a breath of air and kept her arms crossed. She wanted him to know she was mad at him. He had no right to put her down for a nap. He didn’t even give her a choice.

“Not answering Daddy when he’s speaking to you or asking a question is naughty. It will land you in the naughty corner if you keep it up.”

Quickly turning around, she glared at him. Daddy just raised an eyebrow.

“You aren’t my Daddy and I don’t have to answer any of your questions. I want to go home where I can relax and be myself.”

At her apartment she had her own room that had her Little things in. She was comfortable being Little there. Since she arrived, she has almost slipped but she wasn’t fully comfortable.

But her whole situation wasn’t comfortable. Who was relaxed when they got taken from their home and didn’t know when they could leave or not. Or even if they would ever leave.

Betsy didn’t know if she was ever going to leave this apartment. What if Daddy kept her locked away like Repunzel until she died? Was she going to survive?

“I am your Daddy and you aren’t going home. That place is too dangerous. You are safe here where I can look after you.”

“I don’t need to be looked after.”

Okay, that was a clear lie and she knew it. Betsy desperately needed someone to come into her life and help look after her. She wasn’t doing a horrible job, but she clearly wasn’t doing an amazing job either.

“You desperately need to be looked after and you know that.”

“I do not!”

“Baby, it’s not a bad thing. Some people need to be looked after and some don’t. There is no right or wrong answer or way of life.”

She briefly looked away. She knew it wasn't wrong but sometimes it felt like it was. She hadn’t found anyone willing to look after her for the rest of their lives. Either they said it was too much work or she was too clingy and desperate. Whatever that meant.

Betsy was who she was and she wasn’t going to change that for someone. It was exhausting trying to be someone she wasn’t and there was no reason to do it anyways.

“It’s not a bad thing, Daddy promises. Bonnie is just like you, needing someone to look after her. Though, she has two Daddies.”

Her eyes went wide as she stared at him. Betsy didn’t even know who Bonnie was but she had two Daddies?

“I’m not lying. Her other Daddy is a switch and more of a Middle. Rogan is a Daddy to both of them and Raynar is only a Daddy to Bonnie.”

There was no way that was true.

“And there is someone else who has two Daddies. I bet there are even people out there that have three or four Daddies. Everyone is different in what they need. Though, I will not be sharing you with anyone.”

She didn’t want to be shared. Betsy had read books about women having several partners and she knew that wasn’t for her.

“I just want you to know what you need and want isn’t wrong. If I have to show you that every day, I will. I’ll make it my mission if you need me to.”

And Betsy was sure he would do that. She didn’t know him that well. It was just a feeling she had that he would act on what he said, no matter what.

“Can I please just go home?” She whispered.

“Baby.”

Tears pooled in her eyes.

“You aren’t leaving. I have this feeling that I need to protect you. I want you. Need you.”

Betsy scoffed. “You can’t have feelings for me because we just met.”

How could he? It made no sense.

Daddy walked closer and she held up her hand. “Please.”

Whenever Daddy touched her, she couldn’t think. She couldn’t do anything but comply. She knew it because whenever he did touch her, she got all relaxed. There was no way not to get relaxed when he touched her, it was impossible.

“Baby.”

She shook her head. It was like he knew and wanted to hold her but she didn’t want to be held. That was a lie, Betsy always wanted to be held, but right now wasn’t the time.

“Sometimes a person knows right from the beginning. And when you know, you have to go for it and not let it slip by,” Daddy gently said.

Betsy turned her back to him, not wanting him to see the tears in her eyes or how much his words affected her. Would he make fun of her for that?

“You’re okay.”

“I want to be left alone,” she mumbled.

“What was that?”

She sighed. Betsy wanted to be left alone to her thoughts so she could process everything. But at the same time she didn’t want to be left alone because she that meant she was going to be left alone to her thoughts.

What was better?

“Little one,” Daddy cooed at her. “Look at Daddy.”

She shook her head.

“Come on, Little one. Everything is going to be alright. Daddy is right here. I know it’s going to be an adjustment, but you’re going to look back on it and realize it was the best decision ever.”

“Best decision?” she scoffed as she turned around to look at him. “For who? I didn’t make any decisions.”

“You did when you hacked into Bonnie’s website. It was fate. You were meant to hack into it so I could meet you.”

“No.”

“I think so. I think deep down some part of you knew something was going to happen if you hacked into Bonnie’s website.”

She shook her head. “No. I really didn’t. I had no feeling other than being bored and wanting to do something.”

His eyes narrowed on her. “Which is going to stop. There will be no more bored hacking into places.”

Rolling her eyes, she looked past Daddy and to the door. He was still standing just a couple feet into the room, blocking her way out.

“I care for you and before you say it, I just have this feeling. When I hacked into your computer, I was just trying to find out your address but once I stepped into your apartment, I knew. When I walked into the neighborhood, I knew.”

“Knew what?”

“Knew you were meant for me.”

“You can’t know that so soon.”

“Some people do and I’m one of them. You are mine. Just like I am yours.”

Shaking her head, she hugged Mikey close to her chest. It sounded too good to be true. Daddy was going to harm her when he first came to her apartment. Did it only take one look for him to know he wasn’t going to?

“Talk to Daddy.”

“No.”

“Betsy.” His tone was one of warning.

“I just want to be left alone right now.”

He sighed. “Okay. I’ll leave you alone for a little bit but dinner is almost ready.”

“I’m not hungry.”

That was a lie. She was starving, but she wasn’t going to let him know that.

“Too bad. You are eating if you like it or not. It’s important.”

Betsy glared at him. “Meanie.” She stuck her tongue out.

“Nice try. That’s not going to deter me at all. Eating is important. I am thinking about your health.”

When was he not thinking about her?

“I’ll come back in a few minutes so we can eat together.”
