9. Lev

After the movie had finished on the night Lev had dubbed “The Night to Remember,” Bryan and Lev had gone home—mainly because Gary and Rowan’s bed wasn’t big enough for the four of them. Not comfortably, anyway. And also because they had to get ready for work the following morning.

When his alarm woke them both the next morning, Lev groaned and pulled the pillow over his head. He’d slept hard and deep, and he didn’t want to move any more than he had to. Unfortunately, going to work was what he had to do.

His phone beeped, and he groaned again, blindly reaching for it and pulling it under the pillow with him. Bryan’s chuckle reached his ears, and he pushed the pillow off his head, blinking blearily at the screen.

ROWAN

I thought you might like a pick-me-up.

Lev rubbed his eyes and focused on the photo he’d also sent. It was a photo of him and Gary ready for work, and they looked good enough to eat. Gary wore a black suit, white shirt and black tie, ready for his job as Headteacher at the local primary school, and Rowan wore black trousers and a burgundy polo shirt for his job as a dentist. They both wore identical smiles, their heads pressed together and their arms around each other as they stared at the camera.

Lev’s heart pounded at the joy the picture sent through him. He rolled onto his back and held up the phone to Bryan. “Look.”

Bryan read the message and grinned. “Guess we should do the same. Take a photo.”

“We’re not dressed yet.”

“And?”

Lev covered his mouth but then nodded. Bryan slipped his arm around him, snuggling him close, and Lev took the photo. They looked sleep-mussed, but it was perfect. He sent it to Rowan. Knowing he wouldn’t get an answer straight away because he’d be travelling to work at that point, Lev put his phone down and kissed Bryan before climbing from the bed. He didn’t have to wear a uniform to work as such, so he took a quick shower and pulled on some jeans and a T-shirt while Bryan showered.

As happened every day they had time, Lev settled onto the bed to watch his husband dress. There was something sexy about seeing Bryan’s body being covered and only him—and now Gary and Rowan—knowing what was beneath. His gaze travelled the length of him as Bryan slipped the light blue shirt up his arms and fastened the buttons. He licked his lips while Bryan pulled on his dark blue trousers, the zip loud in the quiet room. He scraped his teeth over his lower lip as Bryan shrugged on his dark blue jacket. And as was routine, Lev scrambled off the bed and went to the dresser, opening the top drawer. His fingers drifted across the different ties before choosing a pale grey one. He stopped in front of his husband and looped it around his neck, tying it proficiently after many years of doing it.

Bryan’s hands rested on Lev’s hips, and their gazes met several times before Lev finished. Lev smoothed down the material.

“There. All done.”

“Thank you, sweetheart.” Bryan kissed him. “Remember, I’m going to be late tonight because I have a meeting with my boss.”

Lev nodded and smiled. “You’ll be great. And even if you don’t get the position, you’ll be okay.”

“I know.” Bryan kissed him again, lingering longer than he usually would, which showed how nervous he was. “I love you.”

“I love you, too.”

They descended the stairs, and Bryan carried on to the door, grabbing his bag and slipping his keys, phone and wallet into his pockets before waving and leaving. Lev exhaled, sending all the good vibes with him. Bryan worked as an Education Welfare Officer, which was how he met Gary in the first place, but a position had come up for a managerial position, and Bryan had debated for days about whether he should apply, but he’d finally decided to. Lev hoped he got the job because, personally, his current role wore on him something fierce, and though it would still be within the same area, he would be slightly less hands-on. They both had to wait until that evening to find out if Bryan had been successful.

Lev headed for the kitchen and threw some bread in the toaster, grabbing the butter and jam from the fridge. Bryan would grab some breakfast on the way to the office—and more than likely, a large coffee to keep him going—but Lev didn’t pass any cafes or bakeries when he only had to walk to the end of the road for his job. He pulled out his phone when it beeped and smiled at Rowan’s reply.

ROWAN

Fucker! That’s not nice.

LEV

Yeah, well, neither is the two of you looking so edible at far too early on a Monday morning.

ROWAN

Edible, huh?

LEV

I’ll send you a photo of Bryan tomorrow. Watching him dress is worth me getting up extra early.

ROWAN

Watching him dress?

LEV

Mmhmm. So sexy seeing him covering what we know he has.

He purposefully added the “we” to the message to include Rowan in it, and he wasn’t disappointed by his response.

ROWAN

Hmm, yeah. I’ll have to try that with Gary.

LEV

You won’t be disappointed.

ROWAN

I still might. I enjoy undressing him.

LEV

You can imagine doing that—and then do it when he gets home.

ROWAN

Fucker! My dick is so hard right now.

LEV

Good luck.

He received another photo, this time of Rowan’s covered cock pressing at his fly and his right hand with only his middle finger up. Lev chuckled. He couldn’t wait to see them again. He took his plates to the sink, washing them up while wondering if they were going to meet up before the weekend. He wanted to, but he didn’t want to push. Now that he’d got a taste of them, he wanted more. And yes, as Gary had figured out, he was impatient.

Grinning, he slipped on his coat and locked the house before striding down the street to the garage. He waved at several people he knew and banged on the office door as he entered, making Joanne jump. She was the office assistant at the garage and made sure the place ran smoothly.

“Morning,” she groused, head in her hands.

“What’s up, Jo?”

“I really need to stop drinking on a Sunday night.” She dropped her head to the table as Lev laughed.

“Yeah, you really do.”

He grabbed his overalls from his locker and slipped them over his clothes, hanging his jacket on the hook. Ready for another day of getting his hands dirty, he headed for the first car, sitting prettily in its place on the garage floor.

As he lost himself in the work that was, by that point, second nature and muscle memory, his mind went back to the previous evening. Everything went perfectly, and though he was still a little concerned about what would happen if they didn’t work out, he decided to try not to worry too much about it. Because at that moment, it was going fine.

His phone beeped again, and he grinned, expecting to see Rowan’s name, but it was Bryan’s instead.

brYAN

He didn’t make me wait until tonight. I got it!

Lev stopped what he was doing and punched the air. “Yes!” Then he replied.

LEV

That’s great! Shall we celebrate tonight?

brYAN

Definitely. How about a double date?

LEV

Great minds think alike. I know you’ll want to tell them your news, so you ask them. I’m free whenever, as you already know.

brYAN

Okay. See you later. Love you.

LEV

Love you.

Lev exhaled, any nerves he’d had about Bryan getting the job gone. And now, they were going on a date, too. Where would they go? How would it work with the four of them? He paused and closed his eyes, wiping his worries away as much as he could. They had to be careful, yes, but they were friends and had been out together before. It wasn’t anything different just because their dynamic behind closed doors had changed. No one else would see it unless they let them. Getting back to work, he distracted himself, wishing for the time to fly by so he could see his husband and his…lovers?

And when he finished work all those long hours later, he divested himself of his coveralls and waved goodbye to everyone as he exited before coming to a stop when a familiar face waited for him.

“What are you doing here?”

Gary grinned. “I finished early today with Bryan’s good news, so I thought I’d come and walk you home.”

Lev’s stomach filled with butterflies, and he smiled and ducked his head. “Thanks.”

As they headed back, their conversation was so easy, and it was all he could do to keep his hands to himself. Maybe that evening was going to be more difficult than he thought.
