FELIX
“ T hanks again for inviting me, guys,” I say to Sam and Nate.
“It was supposed to be a boys’ trip but here we are,” Sam grumbles.
“As if you aren’t secretly happy Kimberly is here,” Nate teases Sam.
“Of course I’m happy she’s here. We’re friends,” Sam says to Nate before turning his attention to me. “I’ve known Kimberly my entire life. She’s like a sister to me.”
“A sister you fuck.” Nate chuckles, sipping his scotch.
“Fuck you.” Sam points to his friend.
“Sam and Kim used to hook up during the summers when they would head down south to stay with Kim’s family. Her mom and his mom are best friends,” Nate explains.
“We were teens. And it was only if she wasn’t dating anyone. There were some summers where she was,” Sam argues.
“Then college happened, and he stopped going down south. I think he brought me down once, and of course, he hooked up with her then because her generous assets had bloomed.” He chuckles.
“Fuck you. That is Camryn’s business partner you’re talking about,” Sam tells Nate, who flips him off.
“I met this dickhead in college. Unfortunately, we hit it off.”
“And then you moved back to Europe,” Sam adds.
“To build my business,” Nate explains. “Anyway, the point is, Kimberly only moved back to New York, what, in the last three or four years?”
“Something like that,” Sam mumbles.
“She moved from LA, and of course, she and Harper started hanging out again. But Kimberly wasn’t interested in this guy because she was building her business in the cutthroat world of luxury events.”
“With his woman, Camryn,” Sam adds.
“With the woman I am hopelessly in love with. Unfortunately, things have torn us apart for the moment, but it is only temporary,” Nate explains.
“They will see each other again at Axel and Olivia’s wedding. He’s secretly freaking out,” Sam teases his friend.
“Unlike this man, I’m open with my feelings. Yes, I’m freaking out about seeing her again, but she’s my endgame, so I’ll wait as long as I must for her,” Nate states. That’s admirable. “Unlike this asshole, who is in love with Kimberly, but is too chicken shit to do anything about it.”
Sam’s face drops. “She isn’t interested.”
“Maybe because you screw everything that walks in New York and her five boroughs,” Nate tells him.
“This is true.” Sam chuckles.
“I keep telling him someone is going to swoop in and put a ring on Kimberly’s finger, and then he’s lost her for good,” Nate warns his pal. Sam rolls his eyes as if he’s heard that comment a million times before. “Unlike what I hear Felix did today, confessing his feelings for one Miss Harper Rose on the plane and now you’re dating?” Nate asks.
What am I supposed to say to Harper’s friends? We haven’t discussed how this is going to work between the two of us. “Who wouldn’t want to date Harper? She’s gorgeous, inside and out.”
“Harper is a great girl, shit taste in men, present company excluded,” Nate says.
“Thanks. My dating life hasn’t been the greatest either.”
“His best friend was fucking his girlfriend for a year,” Sam adds.
Nate appears shocked. “That sucks.”
“Apparently, they were high school sweethearts but never told me. And I guess they decided to give things another go while she continued to date me.” I shrug.
“That’s messed up,” Nate adds.
“Well, their loss because now you’re here with us,” Sam says, placing his arm around my shoulders.
“Ladies,” Nate calls out, which gets our attention. I swing around on my chair and my jaw falls open at how beautiful Harper looks. She is dressed in a shimmery pink mini dress that shows off her long, tanned, toned legs, and the top pushes up her breasts into perfect pillows. She’s a goddess. And before I know what I’m doing, I’m getting up off the chair and stalking over to her, where I grab her face and kiss her. Harper at first stiffens but then remembers we are supposed to be dating, so relaxes and kisses me back.
“What the hell was that for?” she hisses under her breath as she looks up at me.
“You look gorgeous, and wouldn’t your boyfriend come up and tell you with a kiss?”
“You’re right,” she says, relaxing.
“What took you guys so long?” Sam asks.
“Harper wanted photos taken,” Kimberly answers.
“Can you two keep the PDA to a minimum around me? I’m happy you two are dating, but it’s gross to see,” Sam says. Harper flips him off.
“Let’s eat, this man will be starving,” Harper says, placing her hand on my chest.
“Yeah, for you,” I whisper into her ear. I notice the shiver that she tries to hide. Then she pinches my nipple once everyone walks off. “Ouch.” Harper pokes her tongue out at me. “Real, mature. And to think you’re the older one.” Harper flips me off before joining Kimberly in a conversation.
“I don’t know why I am so drunk?” Harper mumbles as she snuggles into me. I had to pick her up and carry her back to our hotel room.
“Probably had something to do with the two bottles of champagne at dinner and then shots at the bar,” I tell her, pushing open the hotel room door for us.
“I was having fun,” she says, waving her hands in the air, nearly making me drop her. I place her down on the bed. “I’m a party girl remember.”
“Foot,” I ask, indicating for her to place her heel on my knee so I can take her shoes off. She does as she is told, and I undo her heels and slide them off, then I give her feet a quick massage because they look red and sore.
“Oh my god.” She groans as my fingers dig into her arches. “This is who you’re dating,” she mumbles before groaning again as I work on her other foot.
“Did you have fun?” I ask, looking up at her from where I’m kneeling.
“Yes.”
“Did you hurt anyone?”
“No.” She frowns down at me.
“Then it seems like you had a good night,” I tell her as my hand moves up her calf and starts massaging there.
“I was dancing on the bar.”
“So was your brother.”
“You seriously weren’t embarrassed by me?” she asks.
“How could I be embarrassed when you brought so much joy to everyone around you tonight? So many happy, smiling faces.” Harper’s eyes mist up. Did I say something wrong? Next thing I know, Harper is grabbing me and pulling me on top of her as she kisses me. What’s going on? She rolls me onto my back and straddles me as she continues to passionately kiss me. “Harper, wait, stop, what are you doing? You’re drunk,” I tell her, grabbing her hands.
“I want you, Felix,” she pleads.
“I want you, too, but not like this. You’ll regret it. The next time my cock slides into your cunt I don’t want you to regret it. I want it to happen because you are begging me to fuck you.”
“I want you to fuck me, Felix,” she says as she starts to undress herself.
“I want nothing more than to fuck you, but not like this.”
“Urgh,” she grunts, rolling off me onto her back. By the time I sit up, she’s passed out. Her dress, as stunning as it is, is going to be uncomfortable for her to sleep in, so I quickly get her undressed, grab one of my shirts, and slip it on her. Then I walk back into the bathroom, grab a washcloth, and slowly, without waking her up, wipe the makeup from her face as best as I can. Then I set a bottle of water and an Advil beside her bed for the morning, I think she’s going to need it.
I take a shower and rub one out to the memories of her.
