Chapter 7

A crowded elevatorat the FBI headquarters in New York wasn”t the smartest place to get a hard-on. But tell that to my cock. The ding signified another floor, two before mine. It normally wouldn”t be a problem for me. I was a dignified whore, my control over my body was top-tier, or at least it was before I dabbled in the one man on the Earth I should have probably stayed clear from. York fucking Washington. His cologne was still heavily wrapped around me from the night before, teasing me into a sexual frenzy.

I tilted my head to the side, relaxing the best I could, trying to get York out of my head. I had a taste. Now I need to be done. Speaking of sweet cheeks, he moved toward the elevator and the crowd split apart like there was actual room to fit his large size. He smiled, and nodded at everyone until our eyes met. An electric shock zipped down my spine, and I involuntarily jerked toward him.

York turned around, his broad shoulders straining the suit jacket. I knew exactly how he looked under those clothes. The hard-on was difficult to keep at bay with the memories, but having York so close in person was a temptation too strong even for me to ignore.

Another floor and people poured out, leaving the two of us and two other people. They both seemed to be in their own little worlds. I pushed off the wall and moved closer to York. Our arms brushed along one another adding to the delicious sparks dancing over my flesh.

”Missed me?”

”What?” York”s eyes widened. Why was it cute?

”I know how much everyone loves my presence at the office, and figured my boss missed me.” I smirked.

York”s gaze dropped to my lips, and I couldn”t help myself. I drew my tongue over them, wishing I could be kissing York again. His face showed nothing, but there was no hiding the lust in his dark brown eyes. I wanted to tease him, giving him a taste of the hell I was currently going through. I wanted nothing more than to strip him down right then and there. Either the other two people in the elevator needed to die or disappear somehow. I was a selfish man, and I might not own York, but it didn”t mean I was going to share with anyone.

”Paul.” There was a warning in his tone.

The elevator doors dinged as they opened. I stepped ahead of them and grinned. ”I do like the way you say my name.” I said it low enough that only York would catch it, but I kept walking, not checking to see if he did.

”Hey,” a few of the team members said the moment they saw me. They were more formal the second they laid eyes on our boss. ”Morning, sir.”

York nodded and walked past me as I slowed down. I loved to see him naked, but watching him walk away was a treat in itself.

”Are you seriously that stupid?” Hunter asked.

”What?”

York closed the door behind him the moment he walked into his office. I could go in there. He had an open door policy with the team, but I wanted to lock it, get on my knees and make him break the stone-cold blank face he was sporting this morning. I couldn”t be the only one reeling from the sex last night. I had a lot of sex, like a whole lot, but still I was feigning for more like an addict. I didn”t even get to fuck him, or better yet ride his thick cock.

Hunter laughed as he stared at me and then at York”s closed door. ”You”ve already been reported to HR.”

”Hey, each of those incidents weren”t my fault and I was found not guilty,” I pointed out.

Summer shook her head, her long curls moving with the motion. ”You have no shot.” She leaned against Hunter”s cubicle. ”The chance is lower than five percent.”

”That”s a chance.”

”A shot at what?” Jamie asked. He dropped his bag off at the cubicle next to Hunters before joining us. He glanced over at York”s office. ”Fill me in.”

”Paul is trying to conquer someone way out of his league,” Hunter said.

”I wouldn”t say way out?—”

”He is.” Summer turned to face me. Her gaze moved from the top of my head to my shoes. ”You aren’t ugly, but you have a lot stacked against you. Not to mention, he wouldn”t go for someone who isn”t serious about dating.”

”Not to mention, it”s York Washington. The moment he became our boss, you lost any chance,” Hunter said.

”Wait, what?” Jamie stared at me, bug-eyed. ”You and the boss?”

”More like him and his hand,” Summer joked.

The other two instantly started laughing. I rolled my eyes, knowing I”d already had York. The issue was, I wanted to have more.

”You”ve all seen I”m addictive.”

All three of them stared at me like I had five heads.

”You really going to try?” Hunter asked.

Try? I did.

”No, but we all can have our thing. Just like how Summer wants the new receptionist on the third floor. Ask for her number yet?”

Summer flipped me off before moving away.

”I don”t want your sloppy seconds.”

”If it makes you feel better, never had her. We had drinks but she was too chatty.”

Summer stared as if analyzing me and every word that came out of my mouth. She did that often, but I could do the same to her if I wanted too. Even if I did lie, she never caught me. Lying came to me second nature. I never struggled. It was probably in my blood.

”Get to work,” York said.

His rich voice called to me and I instinctively took a step toward his office. He shut the door before I could fathom making it any closer. I smoothed my blue tie. It was suffocating but it was one of the many things I was forced to wear as Paul the FBI agent. I took a seat behind my desk and rolled my shoulders. I always had work but my mind continued to drift to York.

I wonder what he”s doing, and if he”s as into office sex as I am?

The thought to go ask him was alluring but I ignored it as I pulled up the FBI database. While I had full access, I went ahead and looked up the Triads and what info we had on them. There were copious amounts of digital files, some I didn”t have clearance for, but I was certain I could find someone who did. Again, York came to mind but that was a bad idea. Sleeping with my boss for a good time was okay, but there was no way I could convince him to give me access to restricted files. My dick was godly but York Washington was a true atheist when it came to work.

I secretly jotted down what I could about the triads and noted a familiar name. Tasso. He was an Aceto, right? I made sure I circled it. I would have to check him out. Anything to help my family in the war they were in.

Four hours had passedbefore I knew it. None of my work was done but it was easy enough, I could complete it later tonight. I stretched, popping my back as I did so. York”s door opened just as I stood up from my desk. I shouldn”t follow him, but I was a sucker for his firm ass dressed in slacks.

”Long day?”

York”s shoulders were a lot more tense than earlier that morning. He almost looked like he”d been on cloud nine for a bit there.

”Maybe,” York said, reaching for the coffee pot after I followed him into the kitchen.

”Want to talk about it?”

York raised a brow.

I took a quick glance around. No one else was in the kitchen area. ”Or I could do other relaxing things.”

York”s deep brown skin didn”t hide the blush creeping up his neck and filling his cheeks. He instantly looked to my lips and then down my body.

Warmth followed wherever he gazed as if he”d physically caressed me. York took a step toward me before he shook his head. The sexual need between us was only growing thicker by the day. At least I wasn”t insane. One taste, was in fact, not enough.

York”s hand landed on my shoulder and I swore it felt like I wasn”t wearing anything. An involuntary shiver raced down my spine.

”Gallo, enough.”

”What?” Why was he using my last name?

”We”re at work. Anything that happened, didn”t.”

I had told plenty of hookups the same thing. Had explicitly explained it to them prior to getting into bed with them. I hadn”t expected it from York. A pang in the middle of my chest was the only indication that it affected me.

York blew out a breath, his face blank, void of any emotion. I”d been smiling and enjoying my day but now it felt like crap. I wasn”t angry, or at least I was more than willing to tell myself that. We had fun, that”s all it was. How many times had York said it? He wanted fun and that”s what he got when he slipped into my bed.

He”s my boss and enemy, anyway.

Like flipping a switch, I shut it all down. If Benito called right now and told me to kill York, I would. There was a white noise in my head that settled any unwanted emotion. I wasn”t here to make any real attachments. I wasn”t even Paul.

”Right, it won”t happen again, sir.” I plastered on the fake, good boy smile that had gotten me into the academy.

Everyone knew the best fake identity was one that had inklings of the real one. But as I shut it off, I gave him the plastic mold that was Paul Gallo.

”Good. Go round everyone up, Agent Gallo. Meeting in the conference room in five.”

I acknowledged the order and headed out to get the team. Nothing happened. Not York splayed out on my bed, gripping my sheets for dear life as I pumped my fingers into his tight hole. Not even him slamming his cock down my throat and using me like some toy. None of it.

Getting the entire team to the conference room was easy. A few of them stared at me strangely but I wasn”t in the headspace to put them fully at ease.

”Everyone in?” York asked.

I took my seat next to Hunter and Jamie, fully focused on work.

”Good.” The lights dimmed on York”s demand. ”We have a raid to get ready for. We”ve received the location of the Vitales’ auction house. This is where they stash merchandise.”

”You mean people?” Jamie asked.

York”s lips turned down in a frown. ”Yes, amongst other things.”

”When?” Summer asked.

That was my exact question. Fuck, a raid on the auction house wasn”t good. It was one of the few businesses that stayed in secret. Even the poorest man wouldn”t spill information on it. It wasn”t a hidden fact that if you snitched on the auction house that you would end up on the stage next.

”Tonight, in the next hour.” York grinned. ”Got word that Benito and Giancarlo Vitale will be there. We may be able to catch a few others, but they are our main priority.”

Fuck.

”Your informant deserves a pay raise,” Hunter said. The excitement in his voice at the thought of hurting my family was clear.

I”d kill him right now if it didn”t blow my cover.

”They are good, but we”re going in blind. They couldn”t give me anything but time and an address,” York said.

He made sure to keep any information about the snitch anonymous. Shit.

”Can we trust him?” I asked.

York didn”t look my way, instead he turned on the TV. A brownstone I knew all too well came into view. It was one of the few places that Benito had gutted out for the auctions to be held. It wasn”t the only location, but it was by far the best out of all of them.

Double shit.

”I trust them explicitly,” York said as he finally met my gaze head-on.

The team started asking questions as York went over the plan. I was too busy trying to figure out how to get word to my brothers. This was short notice and there was a chance they wouldn”t get it in time but I had to try something. If I lost them, then the past few years of living a lie was all for nothing.

”Everyone got it?” York said, dragging me out of my head.

”Yes,” everyone said in unison.

He looked at me and I remembered I was still Paul, not Gianpaolo Vitale. I nodded at him. ”Yes.”

”Thirty minutes and we head out.”

I didn”t dare move too fast. Paul was good at his job, but he wasn”t insane on missions. He took things slowly, making sure the job got done right the first time. Everything in me screamed for me to leave and get ahold of my brothers. But panic never did anyone any good.

”Agent Gallo, are you okay?” York asked.

I stopped short of leaving. Why in the fuck did he care?

”Perfect, sir.”

York stared at me, his shoulders dropped as he sighed. Whatever he wanted to say he seemed to swallow back. ”Go finish getting ready.”

I nodded and headed toward my desk, picking up my phone. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, I made a small detour. I bypassed the third floor where our gear was located and made my way down a hallway until I hit the dead zone. I found it my first week of working here. I looked around just in case, but there were no cameras and no one near. I had about five minutes before it looked strange that I didn”t appear on any surveillance.

I hid a sim card behind one of the paintings on the wall. Making quick work of changing them out, I dialed Benito”s number. Two rings went by before a soft click was my only indication that he picked up. I didn”t wait for him to say anything.

”Stay in. Tonight is no good. Thirty minutes to put out a fire.”

Benito instantly started swearing in Italian as I hung up. I couldn”t tell him who had tipped us off, I had no clue. If we didn”t raid the auction, someone on the team would be suspected. But if Benito and Gin never showed up then what a shit coincidence.

My stomach tightened as I broke the sim card and slipped it into my pocket. I was back out and headed to meet everyone with time to spare. Now that my brothers were taken care of, I could fully become Paul. We”d bust some bad guys so that everyone could sleep better at night.
