We were all in place as they made a line for me to ride through. Every time I passed a Goddess; she turned out the line and followed behind me. I passed Kiki, she turned off and was on my side. When I passed Marley and Capri, they did the same.

Capri took the head with Aimee on her bike, Kiki on my left and Fawn, Yasin and Havoc’s mom, on my right with Marley at the back. The king rode in the middle as the goddesses surrounded me.

They all had matching skull helmets on, and one blue glove on their right hand, while the Gods had one red on their left – two colors that made up a flame.

The symbolism of the blue in a flame was purity and precision, which is what our Goddesses were. Then the red came in and symbolized intensity, passion, and destruction for the Gods.

Capri saluted her husband as she passed him, riding me out front. In front of us, the rest of the Gods were surrounding the truck with my Queen inside of it. She was hell bent on going and wasn’t trying to hear shit.

Hassan told me he got her, and I trusted him. Desmond pulled out next to my father because this was personal when it came to Red.

As much as Capone wanted to ride, we respected his wife. She wanted him with her on the flight to Barbados, so they were heading to the airport to fly out with the kids, Jean, Gams, and Mommy. Blaze took the lead with Cappadonna to his right, Havoc riding on his left.

Capella drove his truck with Alaia in the passenger seat next to him. Cappadonna was trying to send her with Erin and Capone, and she wasn’t going for any of it. It was personal for everybody because they had come for us.

Shooting the bed of my niece was a big fucking no, and I already showed him I wasn’t to be fucked with. I’ve never been the type of nigga that was satisfied, so I had to double it.

Alaia knew how to handle herself and with Capella with her, I knew he would protect her. His father knew it, too, which is why he put her with him. Capri and Aimee were put on his truck to make sure that she was always good for Capp’s peace of mind.

Hassan turned the truck off the block, and I saw her face, she was confused. No sooner than that truck made the turn, her name came across my screen.

“Simmy, you promised me!” She yelled into the phone.

I closed my eyes. “The only promise I intend to break when it comes to you. Baby, I can’t do me knowing that you out here with me.”

“Capri is out there… I’ve been practicing… I can do it, too. She taught me.” She pleaded with me, and my heart broke; she wanted to ride for her family.

“Capri had to sit up when she was pregnant, too, baby. Remember the second chance we got, Anjo? I can’t fuck this up… I can’t. You are carrying my baby. Hassan is taking you to the airport to fly out with Gams and everybody else. I’m coming straight to you once I finish this.”

I could hear her sniffling on the phone. “How do you know that you won’t break that promise?”

“Cause Menace has his jet waiting for us soon as we done. I’m running lights to get right to you so we can get married, alright? You still wanna be my wife, right?”

“Yes.”

“I love you, Angel.”

“Love you too, Simmy.” She sniffled. “Please be careful… all of you.”

“Send a prayer up for us?”

“Soon as I get off the phone with you… I love you, Quasim.”

I smiled. “I love you so much more, baby. See you soon.”

Capella and Alaia knew how to handle shit, and Capri and Yasin were put on that truck. I knew she would be pissed with me, but I wasn’t going to lose my family again. I’d rather her be upset with me than something happening. I couldn’t be heartless, knowing my heart was out here with me.

“She’ll be alright… it’s what is best for her,” Capri assured me.

I knew she was going to be pissed with us both, but that was fine – as long as she was alive to be pissed. “Anytime you don’t have it… make sure you tap me in.” I told her.

“Always.” She sped forward, falling in line behind her husband, as I remained in the middle while we made our way.

We heard engines revving and watched as two black Corvettes pulled up on both sides of us. “We on your word.” Mo said and reached his hand out to dap me. Skye was in the passenger seat fixing her hair in the mirror, as if we weren’t about to slide on some niggas.

Karter and Star were on the opposite side, she was the one driving. “Mo, think I can beat you there?”

“Fuck outta here… I’ll hit you when we speed past ‘em.”

Star saluted, and she whipped away, leaving smoke behind her as Mo drove behind her and they whipped around the block.

I rode down the line everyone made and took the lead, and I watched Salah sitting at the end of the block with a few Bullies. The rest of them were making sure Anjo and Hassan made it to the airport.

I saluted.

Bia and her sisters pulled up behind them. “I heard we gotta get you out of here to get married. We gon do what we have to do, then we getting you to that plane.” She smiled. I nodded and put my visor down as I pulled away from the curb and turned the corner.

The funeral procession for his mother and sister was on the highway from the funeral. They were going to drive through their old neighborhood in Delaware before going to the final burial place. All of their blinkers were on as they followed the hearses.

Mo hit me twice, and my phone vibrated, letting me know it was a go. I took the lead with my father beside me. Blaze was behind me with Capri beside him, and Aimee riding on the back of her bike, then Cappadonna and Des fell in behind them with the rest of the IG’s, Bullies’ and Reapers following behind. We moved like one, as we maneuvered around the different cars. I felt numb, nothing.

The main reason I needed Anjo heading out the country. When she was around me, she made me feel, and I spent so much time being numb. My mind had to be focused, and I couldn’t be that knowing she and my baby were right there.

I don’t care if I was the reason for Polo’s mother being in that hearse. There was never going to be any peace for that bitch as long as I had breath in my body. My niece could have been murdered, and that nigga thought mutual grounds was going to stop me from coming for him.

Ryder and Rayce were too young to understand the gravity of who their uncle was right now. I was Uncle Simmy to them, but out here, I was King Inferno, and I would forever protect them.

He thought me sliding on his mama was one thing, nah, I wanted her body on this fucking highway. I wasn’t letting shit go, everything was personal, and when shit got personal for me… it became dangerous.

He let Red get in his ear, even knowing how the fuck I was coming. Warned that nigga, and he went ahead and thought that shit was sweet.

I heard the roar from an engine and saw Corleon in a Rezvani Hercules 6x6. The shit was bulletproof and had underside explosive protection. He had a ski mask on as another one pulled up behind him.

I nodded as we got closer, all the CVs and Del Devils lined up on the side of both of the hearses. They heard us before they saw us, and I grinned, letting out a laugh as I pushed forward. Pulling my gun out, I rode beside one and let his chest hang as soon as I got close to him. The driver of the hearse saw and increased speed.

The sound of an engine roaring gave me the signal to move, because Corleon rammed into the back of that one, pushing it to the side, knocking out a few CVs, who were all sprawled out. Capri maneuvered through them on her brother’s right, and pulled hers, letting that shit go.

Aimee had her left, as she took the right.

The second truck that pulled up with Core, drove right past to catch up to that second hearse, as it was trying to exit the highway. He caught that shit and flipped that bitch over across two lanes, sending that casket flying out the back.

We all switched lanes, getting into a single file as I was gunning for that head nigga. I knew it wasn’t Polo or Red, but I wanted him as bad as I wanted to protect my family. Three of them saw what I was gunning for, and they followed behind, trying to trip me up.

Capri sped by, and Aimee handled one of them as I dipped back, and the other tried to take her out. Blaze came around and made sure he got one in his back, while Core ran over him in that big ass truck.

I sped up, gaining on him and could feel the pings of bullets on my bike. These unmarked bikes weren’t my favorite, but nothing could come back to us. I spotted a bike with pink on my left, and she was on my ass.

Couldn’t front, she was pretty decent on the bike. “Hey mama, watch out.” Star yelled out the window, and shot at her bike, making her bike come from under her.

While she took her out, Karter was handling business on the other side. Salah moved forward, and Bia took the other side. He signaled for me that I had the straight away, as they held it down.

Havoc and Yasin both rode near their mother, as I watched her take out one of the bikes. They followed her lead, ending the other two who tried to bust back at them. Yasin saw Kiki fly by, and Fawn nodded for him to make sure she was covered. Kiki pulled up close enough to homie, and she pulled that trigger, sending him flying off his bike with the three bullets she sent to his back.

Blaze whipped across three lanes until he was right by his wife’s side. She nodded to him and took on the one that was coming in from the opposite way. They wouldn’t give up and kept fucking coming.

Homie pulled and lifted his gun and was aiming. Blaze popped his bike up and dodged the bullets with the bottom of his bike and had his gun ready soon as his front wheel touched the street.

Before he could pull his trigger, Capri whipped by and Aimee delivered that final shot. I was on this nigga’s ass so bad that he fled right by the exit he was trying to take. He was zipping in and out of traffic, and I had tunnel vision.

All I saw was him.

All I wanted was him.

My finger was itching as I was on his ass, making sure that I lined up perfectly with him. All I had was one shot and if I missed, I wouldn’t get my chance this time. He waited until the last minute to dip off the exit that he approached, thinking he would trip me up and I would miss the turn.

I had a feeling that he was going to do that. As he turned off, he dipped down different blocks, and I was right there. Soon as we turned down one block, there were more Del Devils waiting, like he called to tell them he was leading me to them.

If this was where it ended for me, I knew my family would take care of Anjo and Elijah. I pulled my gun, ready to go out in the blaze of glory. “Fuck you meannnnn!”

I quickly turned to look and heard and saw Goon with Capri and Cappadonna riding behind him. Behind Cappadonna and Capri, my father and Des were right there.

Star sped down the block on the side of them with Core on the other side. I rode over on the sidewalk as I watched Star fall back so Core could clear them all out the way. They were so busy watching that they all scrambled at the last minute to get away. “On your right, King!” Goon told me and I handled it.

Capri rode down the sidewalk, as she let her shit go like it was nothing. Des pulled up beside her while he took one out, and then Aimee finalized it. He signaled to her, and she nodded and followed behind him while Cappadonna was handling those on the other side.

I knew he was used to having his twin right beside him when he was handling business. It was different not to have Capone with us, but his health was priority.

Blaze came blowing down the block with Kincaid, as they hit the IG dap, and then popped their wheels up, and let it go at the same time. He was having way too much fun with this shit. Salah came by with three on him, and Goon tripped one up with his wheel, and the other two fell right into the trap, and Kincaid and Blaze both popped them before they could lift their guns.

Des, Fawn and Pops saluted at each other as they blew it down the block and let it off at the car that was coming toward us. Star spun, doing a burn out, as she whipped around the block and blocked that second car, while I sped toward it and emptied my gun in the window.

Capella’s whip sped past us with Alaia letting out shots at the car and bikes behind them. I didn’t need to see Cappadonna’s face to know he had fire in his eyes. We all spun the fuck around and was right behind him.

He was in and out of the cars, making it to his son and wife, pulling that trigger effortlessly. From behind, we witnessed Capella and Alaia pull their guns and let they shit bang at the same time. Capri was right behind her brother, as she was going for the one on Alaia’s side, and Cappadonna was on the side with Capella.

Cappadonna looked at his sister and nodded his head, as she sped forward and Aimee steadied herself on the back. Alaia was holding it down as we approached the side of the car. Homie was so busy trying to get at her, he didn’t notice us on his ass, and most of his niggas were now laying out in the street.

I sped around the front of Capella’s whip and signaled for them to lock this whip down. Soon as I hit that signal, every Bully, God, and Reaper locked this bitch down as we led it down the block. The sirens in the background let us know that Skyler couldn’t hold them back anymore. We needed to get ghost.

Cappadonna made his way over toward his wife’s side and dapped her up, and she nodded at him while Capella saluted, and we led them away from the destruction we had caused. We were too deep and had to break up.

I hit the IG shake with Goon, ready to fuck his ass up cause he ain’t told me shit. “Aye, we out… let’s get this nigga married… you handled business, King!” He saluted and then took the rest of the Gods down one block while the Bullies went one way, and I escorted Capella and Alaia with Blaze, Cappadonna, and Capri following us.

I told Gams to let the phone ring six times. My phone vibrated six times, so I knew they had taken off and were on their way.

I promised Blair and Elijah that I was coming behind them and that wasn’t a promise I was breaking to either of them.

All you had to do was call and Menace Caselli was going to come through every time. We all dropped our bikes and shit off at a few scattered warehouses he had close to us. Blaze, Goon, and Cappadonna went one way. While me, Aimee, Capri, Capella, and Alaia went another way with Core.

He pulled that big ass truck into the warehouse, and we dropped those burner bikes off, and were whisked away in a black SUV version of the same truck that Core was just driving. The driver got us to the airport, and we waited in the lounge for the rest of them.

Soon as we were at the lounge, I sat down and said a quick prayer. I hadn’t heard from my brother or pops yet, and I needed to know they were good. Capella grabbed his wife and kissed her lips as he hugged her.

“You a badass, Aim.”

Capri and Alaia were nervous as they both paced in front of the window waiting. “You think they are alright?” Alaia questioned.

“They’re fine,” she tried to convince her sister-in-law, but she was trying to convince herself, too.

I sat back and waited because I knew they were good. Blaze was always going to be good. That nigga had been wiggling himself out of shit for as long as I could remember. No shit like this was going to get him caught up.

Two SUVs pulled up, and Blaze hopped out the front while Goon and Cappadonna got out the back. My father and Des both got out the second one, and they headed inside.

Capri and Alaia both ran to their husbands and kissed them, as they hugged and kissed them back. Cappadonna kissed his wife, which was rare for him to do in front of us. That’s how I knew his ass was worried about her.

“I’m good and you good… now we go and sit on the beach with the kids, ight?”

She nodded her head as she hugged him. “Okay.”

He held her chin up. “I let you get this out your system, Joy. I don’t like it… no more, okay?”

She kissed his lips and hugged him. “No more.”

The women knew how to protect themselves because of the life that we lived. Did we willingly want to put them in harm’s way with shit like this?

Nah.

However, I knew that Alaia had wanted to do this, and since Cappadonna could never tell her no, he allowed her this time. I understood what he was going through because it was the same shit I would have been feeling if I had allowed Blair to stay.

I felt guilty for lying to her, but I never regretted the decision to send her away.

Capri kissed Blaze as he hugged her tightly. “Sug, that fucking aim is impeccable.”

She smiled. “Really?”

“Baby Doll, that shit is fucking chilling… the way you lined that one nigga up and hit him perfectly.”

“Suga cane, you were phenomenal…never been prouder to see you out there holding your own. You, too, Drooly.”

Aimee laughed as Capella kissed her head. “You drool one time and now you have that nickname.”

“Aim, you wet the whole arm of the couch.” Capella called her out.

She shoved him away and went over to Cappadonna. They did a handshake and he pulled her into a hug. “Pops, what you think?”

“Think you killed shit per usual… you been around Baby Doll too much cause that aim is something serious.”

I cleared my throat. “I went and saw you… you ain’t think to tell me that you were coming home?”

Goon smirked as he walked over toward me, and we embraced. “You ain’t think I would miss seeing my guy get married?”

“How the fuck?”

“Shit with my old parole officer is about to get wicked, and Ms. Lawyer had a friend of hers pull some strings… some shit about a power dynamic, and I shouldn’t have served time since I got the permission to travel from my parole officer. She spun that shit so crazy that I started feeling like the fucking victim for real.”

“With his parole officer suing the city, they don't want any more cases, and Goon could sue the city if he wanted. It was cheaper to free him since he only had a little bit left on his sentence, rather than having to pay him in a lawsuit.”

“You know she flew in this morning for the wedding, right?” Capri said, as she leaned her head on Blaze.

Goon smirked. “Been a minute since I saw Ms. Lawyer… she still thick as shit?”

“Gerald, please,” Aimee said.

I shook my head, as we got ready to board the jet. Corleon couldn’t make it, but he made sure we got to the airport. He had other prior shit going on and I respected that. Despite having shit going on, he still popped out and came through.

I looked at the screensaver of me and Anjo in Miami and closed my eyes, waiting until she was in my arms again.
