Chapter fifty three

Solomon had me pinned against the kitchen counter, the cold granite biting into my skin, heat rolling off him in waves. His body was firm, solid, like a wall I could lean against. The air was thick with the smell of spices—something rich and warm. He was baking for me. The cake was in the oven, and his hands were on me—his touch greedy, sliding up under my shirt, leaving trails of goosebumps in their wake. I couldn't get over the way this man treated me like I was precious.

“You’re incredible,” he murmured, his voice rough, vibrating against my neck. His lips traced a path along my jaw. He kissed where my pulse was jumping and scraped the flesh with his teeth.

“So damn perfect, baby,” he complimented.

I arched into him, chasing the friction he was creating by grinding into me, needing more. My fingers tangled in his hair, tugging, pulling him closer like I could fuse us together if I just held on tight enough. “Solomon...”

“Shh,” he whispered, his breath hot against my ear, and then his hand was between us, slipping lower, touching my clit in the way that made my knees go weak. He knew exactly where to touch, how to touch. “Let me take care of you.”

He hooked my leg around his waist, and I felt his dick, hard and ready, sliding between my pussy lips, teasing. Then he was inside me, filling me. The slow grind of his hips against mine was unbearable. I tried to match his rhythm, but he was in control, setting the pace, dragging it out until I was a trembling mess.

“You feel so good,” he breathed, his voice a low, gravelly whisper that made my heart stutter. “I love the way you move, the way you melt against me.”

His words were gasoline, setting fire to every nerve in my body. I could feel the tension coiling tight inside me, trembling, the pleasure building into something unbearable, something that was going to tear me apart. “Solomon, I’m about to—”

“Let go,” he urged, pressing his lips to mine just as everything inside me broke open. “Thank you for wetting this dick, baby,” he groaned, holding me tight as he nutted inside me.

When he pulled away, I felt like I was still burning, still on fire. I felt so good I wanted to bite his ass. I lay back on my elbows, trying to catch my breath, watching him fix his shorts and wash his hands. Fuck, he was so fine. I slid down off the counter. My panties were uncomfortable as I readjusted them and sat down.

He turned back, pulling the cake out of the oven, the smell of it filling the kitchen, mixing with the scent of sex and sweat. He cut into it, offering me a slice. “I want you to taste it while it’s hot,” he said.

I took a bite, the warmth and sweetness hitting hard. “Damn, this is good. I want another piece, I won’t be able to stay,” I remembered. “I have to go get Ekon. Save us a piece.”

His expression shifted, something unreadable crossing his face. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that,” he said, setting the cake down like it suddenly didn’t matter. “You spend most of your weekends with him anyway. I want Cassius to drop him off here. I’m not comfortable with you spending alone time with him.”

I stared at him, the disbelief cutting through the haze of the bliss I hadn’t yet come down from. I immediately caught an attitude from his tone. “What, you don’t trust me to be alone with him and not fuck?”

“No, I don’t trust him,” he said, his voice steady, unflinching. “He still wants you.”

I shook my head, a knot forming in my stomach. “That still equals you not trusting me. Cassius can want whatever the fuck he wants; it doesn’t mean I’m going to give it to him.” I had already dealt with jealousy from Cassius; the fact that Solomon seemed so secure in trusting me was part of what had drawn me to him.

He tried to smooth it over, reaching for my hand, his thumb brushing over my knuckles in that way that usually made me melt. But this didn’t feel right—it felt like control, or maybe I was being too cautious because of my relationship with Cassius. I didn’t know.

“Okay,” I finally said, the word leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I agreed just to end the conversation, but I didn’t like it. I needed to think.

“You should call him now,” he said, his voice calm, but there was an insistence in his tone.

I reached for my phone, dialing Cassius as Solomon pretended to wash dishes, but I felt his gaze flicking toward me.

The phone rang once before Cassius picked up. “What’s up? You coming?” His voice was casual. He had been doing better. He was getting over me. He didn’t try to keep me on the phone longer or make small talk anymore. I guess therapy was working.

I hesitated, then said, “Cassius, can you drop Ekon off at Solomon’s place from now on instead of having me come get him?”

There was a pause, then Cassius chuckled, the sound low and almost amused. “Ol’ man Jedidiah issuing orders now, huh?” The chuckle deepened into a full-blown laugh. “I get it. Text me his address, and I’ll be there in an hour.”

He hung up before I could respond.
