Chapter Thirty-Eight

I wake up in an empty bed with a single text waiting for me.

Ran into town with Grayson. Be back later.

I shoot off a quick response.

Should have woken me, would have gone with you.

My phone buzzes seconds later.

I knew better than to disrupt your sleep.

Once you are up and ready there is breakfast for you in the kitchen. Also coffee.

AWWWW, YOU DO LOVE ME!

Shut up…

Thank you! Is Wyhtt home?

Should be. Harass him till I get back.

Will do ;)

Rubbing the remnants of sleep from my eyes, I force myself out of bed and through the door to find Wyhtt. After searching the house, I find him lounging on the back deck with his shirt off and swim shorts on. Not a bad sight if he wasn’t well . . . Wyhtt. To an extent, marveling over his form was . . . weird . . . to say the least. I love Wyhtt, but definitely more as a brother than being in love with him.

“Well, well, well . . . did you have fun yesterday?” Wyhtt teases. I roll my eyes as I pull up a chair next to his. Deciding not to be embarrassed at the fact he walked in while I was blowing Jensen, I take a deep breath.

“Yes.”

The side eye he gives me causes a grin to pull at my lips. “S, we have known one another for a long time, but I can honestly say yesterday will forever be the worst memory I will ever have of you. Ass in the air and sucking his dick like you were being paid for it. Goddamn girl, you could have been a hooker in another life with those skills.”

I burst out laughing before shoving his arm, knocking his head from its resting place, his laughter is bright and carries through the air.

“Well, it looks like it’s just gonna be the two of us until later tonight. You wanna head to the beach till they get back?”

“Yeah, let me go change. Where did they go anyway? Jensen just said running to town, he’s not very big on the details lately.”

Wyhtt was oddly quiet before giving a vague, mumbled answer about preparing for the town’s annual fourth of July party. I’m not sure what either Grayson or Jensen had to do with the party. We’ve always just shown up, like every other person who lives in town but maybe that was just another thing that had changed over the last ten years.

“Go change!” Wyhtt yells as he begins gathering everything we’ll need for another day on the beach.

“Alright, alright. You are pushy today.”
