Chapter Fifty-Four

Dear Jensen,

It’s December. When I walked outside this morning the stars were still bright in the early dawn, demanding my attention. The moon was so beautiful, it stopped me in my tracks. I wondered if you had also been admiring its beauty. I wondered if your nightmares found you once more and drove you from bed to look outside. I miss you so much. I didn’t know I could miss someone this much. I thought losing you a second time would make this feeling…easier. Somehow it feels so much worse…

All I can think about is Wyhtt caroling through the neighborhood while you and Grayson watch in horrified amusement. Please tell him regardless of his new girlfriend, his sister needs a phone call soon…or at least a text message unless he wants to be punched again. Remind him that he promised to stay in contact with me.

The only thing I want this holiday season is to be with you, and to be with my family. The holidays are about spending time with those you love. Don’t you want that? Decorating the tree like we used to as kids! Hot chocolate for evening beach walks, maybe we could even visit our pier again, and I’ll find warmth in your arms once more. My heart grows weary this holiday season. I miss you all dearly.
