Chapter 38
38
“ H eart rate is slightly elevated. Pupil dilation increasing. Temperature is bordering on feverish.” Bret’u says, tapping notes into zir comm. Ze turns and looks up at me, concern etched in zir stone brow. “How are you feeling, Paul?”
“Weird. Hot. But not bad,” I reply, tugging at the collar of my shirt. What felt fine before now feels scratchy against my skin, and far too heavy to be wearing in this stifling med bay. “Is it okay if I take my shirt off?”
Ze cocks zir head at me. “Uh, sure.”
I sigh in relief as the air hits my skin. I’m still hot, but it’s not as uncomfortable now.
“It’s not an allergic reaction…” Bret’u reads my vitals again, and glances down surreptitiously at my crotch, wh ich, much to my embarrassment, is tented with a boner that won’t go away. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you’re going into heat. That’s not something that humans do, correct?”
“Wh-what?” I squeak. “No!”
Bret’u stifles a chuckle behind zir hand and turns to K'thi, who is watching me with concern. “Your vitals are all still standard. Feeling normal?”
The ankite nods dismissively. “Yes, I’m fine. However, your human’s reactions are remarkably similar to the effects of a popular drug they used at the club to make the staff more…amenable to customers,” they say, grimacing in distaste. “You say you have nothing to do with them, yet you’re in possession of that kind of substance.”
I shake my head. “N-no, it’s not like that at all. We thought they were rations. No one else reacted to them except me… Huh. That’s odd. Why would anyone want a horny drug that only works on humans?” I lie down on the exam table, moaning at the feel of the cool sheet against my overheated skin.
Bret’u looks at me in fascination. “No idea. But each species' reactions to substances can be unique. This is unexpected.”
“How long will it last?” I groan, fighting against the urge to stick my hand down my pants and jerk off. “This isn’t the first time an alien substance has made me horny, but that was fairly short-lived.”
“What substance? Is Hadrell giving you drugs?” Bret’u asks, clearly perplexed by my overshare.
“Oh! No, uh, their, um, slick has that effect on me.” Talking about it is making it an even more monumental task to not grind against the bed I’m lying on.
“What’s wrong?! Is Paul okay? You said he was feverish?” Hadrell shouts as they burst into the med bay, startling K'thi and earning a snort from Bret’u.
“Oh good, you’re here,” the medic says drolly. “Paul is fine. The ration bar seems to have an aphrodisiac, inhibition-suppressing effect, but it’s not dangerous to his health.”
“He what? Oh!” Hadrell makes a shocked sound somewhere between a gasp and a growl.
I blink open my eyes from where they’ve squeezed shut, and realize I’ve lost the battle against touching myself as my hand works up and down my shaft. “Sir, I’m sorry,” I whimper.
“Everyone out!” Hadrell barks, stepping in front of me to shield me from view of the rest of the room.
K'thi scurries out of the med bay, but Bret’u doesn’t move.
“I need to observe him to make sure?—”
“ Vash-ka , absolutely not. You can monitor his vitals remotely.” Hadrell’s growly, rough tone makes me even more on edge and I gasp. “Shh, it’s alright, l’thran. Ze is leaving. I’ll take care of you.”
As soon as the med bay door slides shut behind Bret’u, I shove my pants down over my hips, and fist my straining cock as I present my ass to them, burning with the need to be fucked. “I know you’re mad I tried this when you didn’t want me to, but I need you,” I gasp.
“I won’t fuck you like this, l’thran. ” Hadrell frowns down at me. “I’m too upset and you can’t consent.”
“But—”
“Stroke your cock for me and think about how hard I’m going to fuck you when I know you’re okay,” he rasps, running a hand down my heaving chest but not touching me where I need.
It doesn’t take long before I erupt, coming all over my hand in a sticky mess.
“Better?” they ask, bringing a hand to my forehead to check my temperature. “ Esh’et , you’re still feverish. I’ll get Bret’u. ”
I reach up and grab his wrist so he can’t leave. “No, please. I’ll be okay. I’m already feeling better.” My cock twitches in direct opposition of my words. “Okay, maybe not. But please, I don’t want anyone to see me like this. At least not without it being a planned thing.”
Shit, why did I say that last part out loud?
“You like the thought of being watched? Of everyone knowing what a little whore you are?” Hadrell rasps, cupping my jaw. When I don’t respond, they growl. “Tell me, fa'sli . Come for me again while you say all the dirty thoughts in your head.”
“We’d go to a sex club—a real one, not like Sin Horizon, one where everyone wants to be there. You’d take me into a room where people could see me, but I couldn’t see them, and you’d make me drink your slick and—ungh,” I grunt as my dick bucks in my grip.
“And?” they ask cooly, eyes watching me as I stroke my cock frantically.
“Oh fuck, you’d make me beg until I was a trembling mess with cum and slick all over me, so everyone could see how much of a slut I am for you… ah!” I cry out as I come again, the sensation intensified by Hadrell watching me the whole time.
“That’s it, Paul. You’re so good. You’ll be okay,” he murmurs, stroking a hand through my hair.
“I’m still so hot,” I groan. “This isn’t like with you.”
“We’ll get through this together. You’re safe with me.” Hadrell’s soft words are a sharp contrast to what he says next. “Now, tell me again how you want everyone to see what a greedy slut you are for me.”
God only knows how many times I come in that med bay. When the fever finally fades, I’m left a cum-soaked mess. Hadrell soothes me, wrapping a blanket around me and carrying me to the showers and locking the door behind us.
They wash me off tenderly, supporting my exhausted body that’s barely able to stand up after the effects of that ration bar. They even wash my hair, though that isn’t strictly necessary. I don’t mind. Their care is a balm to my overstimulated senses.
Neither one of us says anything until they’re tucking me into bed in our quarters, snuggling up behind me to hold me against their chest.
“Sorry,” I croak.
Hadrell huffs against my hair, a mix of a laugh and a sigh. “Don’t be. You were right.”
“Yes, but I put myself at risk. And then I was so… needy.”
“Never apologize for needing me,” they rumble. “I was only mad because I was worried. Not because you needed me.” They pause and I swear I feel them smile against my shoulder. “Was all that stuff you said true?”
I don’t have the energy to lie or be embarrassed about all the filth I spouted. “Yeah.”
He groans. “ Vash-k a, that’s sexy. Once we get all this sorted out, we’re doing it.”
If I wasn’t entirely spent, I know my cock would be twitching back to life at their words. “O-okay.”
“Speaking of sorting things out, you may have scared me, but we have vital information thanks to you.” Hadrell sounds mildly peeved that my risk paid off.
“Look at me, being useful for once. And all it took was losing all my dignity,” I say with a snort.
Hadrell pinches my side. “Nonsense. You’re always useful. ”
“Any thoughts now that we know there’s something off with the rations? Why would anyone want a drug that only affects humans?”
“Hmm, I have a few guesses. It could be a fluke. Some ration manufacturer stumbling into creating something that has a drug-like effect on humans. It’s possible they didn’t even know it did. But given that they were stuck in a customs warehouse, it’s clear that the Consortium figured it out. And not only the Consortium, given that Frea’set knew what cargo to have us grab.”
I groan. “That’s true. And stealing a substance known to have these effects on humans is a much more severe crime than regular rations. The Coalition has been on edge about food and drug contamination since my friend was poisoned by an anti-human terrorist. If the Consortium realized this ration bar could drug humans, whether intentional or not, it would be confiscated and held until they could reach an agreement with the Coalition on if the product could still be distributed on Spire or not. It’d be a political shitshow if that substance went missing on their watch and the Coalition found out.”
Hadrell lets out a heavy sigh. “Frea’set really did an excellent job screwing us over, didn’t he?”
I nod, not paying more than cursory attention to his words as an idea begins to form. I roll over to face Hadrell. “I think I know what to do.”
He blinks at me. “You do?”
“Val said we should try to bring the cargo back to Frea’set and frame him with it. If you can figure out how to do that, then I can handle the Consortium.”
Hadrell’s eyes narrow. “Not that I doubt you, but how exactly do you plan on doing that?”
“By using my status as a senior member of the Coalition’s ambassadorial team to negotiate. Like I said, it’ll be a nightmare for them if the Coalition were to find out about this breach in their security.”
A startled laugh bursts out of Hadrell. “Stars, that’s… you’re even more delusional than I am to think you can blackmail the Consortium like that.” They grin in delight at me, clearly not thinking that’s a bad thing.
I smile back. “That isn’t a ‘no’.”
“No, it’s not.” He leans in and kisses me, a smile still on his lips. “Have I ever told you how brilliant and cunning you are?”
I flush at their praise. “Stop, it’s not that good of a plan.”
They shake their head. “It’s a plan, which is light years better than begging for forgiveness or staying on the outer edges of Consortium space until we can afford a new ship.” They lean in again and kiss my forehead this time. “Rest up while I go talk to the others. We’ll need that brilliant brain of yours not delirious from orgasm overload if we’re going to pull this off.”
