Chapter 10

Damn .

It was the only thought running through my mind as I tried to savor every bit of her. Her soft moans had me hard as hell, but I couldn’t pull myself from the sweet taste that was all her. The tightening of her thighs let me know she was close, so I slipped two fingers inside of her, continuing to work them in and out to match the strokes of my tongue against her clit.

“Fuck!” she screamed as she released into my mouth.

Her body went slack. I knew I had just about taken everything she had, but I was greedy, and I wouldn’t rest until my dick got the same treatment my tongue had. I pulled back briefly and stroked myself as I admired her curvy frame spread wide for me and waiting.

Skye’s low lidded eyes finally pulled open as she cracked a smile before biting her lower lip. She slipped two of her fingers between her slippery folds and brought them to her mouth. I groaned at the scene before me. She was a masterpiece, and I planned to praise every part of her.

No longer able to be an admirer, I grabbed her ankles and pulled her to the edge of the bed before flipping her over onto her stomach and smacking her ass, causing a ripple effect. I didn’t need to say a word as she got onto her hands and knees, then arched her back perfectly.

I couldn’t help but to lean in and get another taste. Her pussy was so wet from my view, and the prettiest thing I had ever seen. I gripped her ass cheeks, spreading them apart before dragging my tongue from the crack of her ass to her sweet center. I sucked on her clit for a second before pulling back and aligning my dick with her center.

I applied a little pressure but didn’t fully push myself inside just yet. Her impatience caused her to push back, taking more of me in. I smacked her ass, pulling another moan from her before pulling out, and this time going all the way with one stroke.

“Mmm, I knew you would be dangerous.” I groaned.

I lifted one leg on the side of her and stroked her into oblivion. Her moans bounced off the walls as she continued to take everything I gave her. I pulled out and then instructed her to turn around. Immediately, she reached out for my dick, engulfing it whole.

The warmth of her mouth had my eyes rolling to the back of my head. I fucked her mouth. Tears slid down her cheeks, but she didn’t let up. My toes felt like they were throwing up gang signs as I pulled from the haven of her mouth. If I let her continue this shit, we definitely would be done sooner than I intended.

I gripped her chin, leaning forward to slip my tongue into her mouth and kissing her like it was the last time I would feel her lips. Because it was. This had to be it. Her life couldn’t be altered because I was selfish. I could see a life with her, and that was not possible. Hope was the worst thing to give someone like me. So, I was going to savor this moment with the woman who could have been my everything if I had been dealt different cards in life.

“Hey, where did you just go?” she asked.

I leaned in and lifted her, putting both of her legs over my shoulder, then sliding back into her. I didn’t want to think anymore. I just wanted to feel for the first time and that was what she was giving me. Even if it was just for a little while. I continued to pound her center. The tightening of her walls around me and the heaviness of my release was right there. I sped up, bringing us to our orgasm.

“Shit.” I groaned, and I emptied everything within me into her.

I had never done that with any woman. No woman had ever made me feel the things she had. She would forever hold that spot for me until my last breath.

I laid her down on the bed. I could see the exhaustion taking over, so I walked into the bathroom and grabbed a few things to clean her up before I left. I couldn’t tempt myself to sleep beside her. I didn’t think I could ever leave if I did. This situation was bad enough as it was. Once I cleaned her up, I helped her underneath the blankets, and then got dressed.

When I looked back over my shoulder before leaving, she was fast asleep. I noticed a notepad and pen alongside the bed. I hesitated before picking it up and writing a few things. Once I finished, I made sure the door was locked behind me.

Immediately, my phone vibrated. I knew who it was because only one person had this number.

“Yeah,” I answered.

VC chuckled. “What the fuck are you doing, man?” he asked.

I knew exactly what he was talking about, but I decided that playing as if I didn’t was the best course of action.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, and if this is why you’re calling me, you’re wasting both of our time.”

“Bullshit. You know exactly what I am talking about, but if we want to play stupid, I can do that too. You know they found you right? And oh, the woman, they’re running checks on her, too, now.”

“What the fuck are you talking about? She has nothing to do with any of this, so why would they be looking into her?” I asked.

“Oh, now you want to talk? Think about it, you have been in the shadows for years now! Suddenly you pop back up on their radar and with a woman that you’re clearly smitten with. Oh, they’re going to try to figure out more about her. You better hope they think it’s a useless thing.”

My jaw tightened and my fists clenched at my side at the thought of my bullshit coming back on her. She didn’t deserve it and she didn’t know what she was getting herself into with me. Shit, my name wasn’t even Brodrick.

“It would be in their best interest to leave her alone. She doesn’t know a damn thing.”

“Well, you need to get out of there now. I know what you’re doing. Leave.”

I didn’t plan to entertain this conversation a moment longer, so I hung up the phone. I didn’t need him worrying about what I was doing. I got me. I would leave but on my time. I needed to make sure I saw her board her flight back home before I could truly leave everything behind.

The moment I stepped up to the front door of my villa, my instincts kicked in. Something was off. The door was unlocked. I never left it unlocked. I pulled my gun from my holster and slowly pushed the door open.

The sight that greeted me stopped me cold. Ms. Vlad sat at my desk, looking exactly as she had twenty-five years ago, down to that same crooked nose. Behind her stood two guards I recognized from the compound, but it was what was displayed on my laptop that made my blood run cold. Surveillance photos of children in compromising positions, the same ones from that night, that changed everything.

“Knox, darling. Did you really think you could hide forever?” Her voice still had that same grating quality.

I kept my gun trained on her. “How did you find me?”

She laughed, the sound like broken glass. “Oh, we never lost you. We just waited for the right moment. And now you’ve given us something to work with.” She tapped a key on my laptop, and a photo of Skye appeared on the screen.

“She has nothing to do with this.” My voice was deadly calm, but inside I was raging.

“On the contrary. Her parents’ program created you. Isn’t it poetic that their daughter will be your undoing?” She stood slowly. “You have a choice. Come back to us willingly, or we’ll show her exactly what kind of monster she spent the night with.”

I almost pulled the trigger then, but I knew one shot would bring the entire resort security down on us. And Skye was still here, still vulnerable.

“You’re still thinking like a soldier,” Ms. Vlad said, reading my hesitation. “Good. You have twenty-four hours to decide. After that...” She gestured to the photo of Skye.

They left as silently as they’d come, leaving me alone with the choice that wasn’t really a choice at all. I had to leave—not to protect myself, but to protect her. At least until I could figure out how to end this once and for all.

I packed quickly, muscle memory from years on the run taking over. I touched my wrist out of habit to check my watch, only to notice that I no longer wore it. VC had gifted me the watch when we escaped. I remembered Skye’s gentle touches when she’d noticed it earlier. I realized in that moment that I left it behind in Skye’s room, but I was cool with it. At least now she would have a piece of the real me, a breadcrumb if she was as smart as I thought she was.

Before I left, I took one last walk by her cabana and made my way around to get one final look at her peaceful silhouette through the curtains. Then I disappeared into the night, already planning my next move. They wanted to use her against me? They would learn what happened when they threatened the one thing a monster had learned to love.

This time, I wasn’t running away. I was running toward something—the end of the Void program, once and for all.
