Chapter Twelve

Marco

Marco chuckled quietly as he walked to the trunk of his car.

Kai's face after Marco declared they'd be discussing rules was priceless.

As much as Littles thrived on rules they sure did hate discussing them.

They liked to get down to the fun stuff.

Marco planned to keep Kai in Little space as much as possible over the next six weeks. He'd be strict but fair.

“Excuse me, little boy, what are you doing?” Marco stared in shock as Kai was struggling to pull his luggage full of toys out of the back seat.

It was hard because he couldn’t use his other hand.

From Kai's pinched look and the way he was holding his broken arm Marco guessed he was in pain.

It had been a couple of hours since Kai got the pain medication from the hospital.

“I'm helping,” Kai explained.

“Little boys don't help. Especially little boys who have a broken appendage.

Go sit on the porch swing while Daddy unloads the car.

It's not that chilly today,” Marco ordered.

Kai looked like he was about to argue but then he just nodded and ran up the few stairs and started gently swinging.

His soft smile sent little sparks right through Marco's heart.

Kai was so innocent, it was adorable. Marco unloaded the car and laid the bags next to the swing while Kai quietly watched him.

His casted arm was being cradled in his lap.

“Are you alright, bambino?”

“I'm alright. What does bambino mean?”

“It's Italian for, baby boy.” Marco knelt down in front of Kai and took his good hand and stared into his honey colored eyes.

“One of your rules that I'll explain right now is this: do not lie to me. I'll never lie to you so I expect the same from you. So, I'm going to ask again, are you alright?” Kai sighed and shook his head.

“My arm hurts, Daddy,” Kai frowned at his arm. “I'm sorry.”

“Don't be sorry, baby, it's not something you can help. You need to be honest with me so I can help you. Now, I'm going to sit you down in the living room and I'm going to make you a quick sandwich to eat then give you your pain medicine and finish bringing in the bags. Okay?”

“Okay, Daddy.” Marco nodded and gently sat Kai down on his couch and made a quick ham and cheese sandwich for Kai to eat and finished grabbing the bags.

“I'm done, Daddy, should I put the plate in the sink?” Marco looked up from the kitchen island and smiled at his sweet boy. The living, dining room, and kitchen were all completely open concept so Marco could see Kai waiting patiently.

“Thanks, bambino, I'm just reading the instructions on your pills.” Kai sidled up next to Marco and looked over his arm at the pill bottle.

“‘Take one capsule by mouth every 12 hours or as needed. No more than 4 in one day. Take on a full stomach’” Kai read. “There's only enough for 4 days, it looks like.”

“Yeah, Victor said that after 4 days the pain should fade into being uncomfortable. He did say I could give you some Tylenol if it's too much.”

“When did he say that?” Marco shook a pill into his hand and filled a cup with water.

“Are you okay with taking pills?”

“Yeah, it's easy peasy for me.” Kai popped the pill into his mouth and drank some water after.

“Victor told me while you were filling out the discharge paperwork. I needed to know how best to take care of my baby.”

“I'm not sure if I should think that's sweet or creepy.”

“It's sweet, take it from me. Come on time for the tour then the rules.” Marco laughed at Kai's face and dragged him away.

Kai

The rest of Daddy’s house was very charming, it had three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bathroom was in between bedroom two and three and there was an ensuite attached to the master bedroom.

Daddy showed Kai almost all the bedrooms except for one.

He explained it would be Kai’s room while he’s here but it would be a surprise after the rules talk.

All too soon they were sitting on the giant sectional with Kai on one end and Marco facing him with a serious face.

“First off, I want you to know that almost all of these rules are open for negotiation.”

“Really?” That was a surprise. Kai only had two partners that had acted as his Daddy and all of their rules had been iron clad and he couldn’t convince them to tweak the rules to fit him better.

How long did those relationships last?

“Of course, some of them might not fit you exactly and we can change them as needed or you don’t need a specific rule entirely. Though I believe all the ones I have in mind are needed.”

“Ok, what are the rules?” Kai asked, sitting up. He did need and want rules and didn’t want Daddy to think he wasn’t listening.

“Rule one we went over in the car a little bit. Safety. That means to look both ways when you cross the street. Always hold Daddy's hand if he’s with you. Always wear a seatbelt in the car and never turn around in your seat to speak to someone in the back seat. When you’re out with friends, be sure to text me and let me know where you are, where you’re going and possible time when you’ll be home. ”

“Wow, that’s a big one,” Kai chuckled nervously. This first rule was a big one and he had a feeling if he broke it he wouldn’t like the consequences.

“Safety is a big issue for me. Even more since you were involved in a hit and run. We might add more to it if the need arises. Any issues with rule one?”

“No, Daddy, I’ll try to follow it to the letter.”

“Thank you, baby. Rule two: drink water. At least two full water bottles a day. I saw you put one in your luggage so I’ll fill that up soon.”

“Oh, that’s easy, unlike Penny I really like drinking water.” Kai perked up, he’d knock that rule out of the park.

“Good boy. Rule three: Always listen when Daddy gives you an order. I say duck you duck, I say run you run. It's an offshoot of the safety rule.”

“Does that include not bratting or being sassy to Daddy?” Kai shifted until he was fully facing Daddy with his arm around his legs and head resting on his knees.

“It depends on the situation. If it's a life or death situation, no. If I order you to set the table then its allowed though expect a bit of funishment.” Kai’s body zinged at the thought.

“Funishment?” he asked, breathlessly. Marco smirked and leaned closer.

“Yep, I might order you to your knees to play with Daddy’s cock or watch as Daddy takes care of himself without you.”

“That would be a damn shame, Daddy.”

“Rule four: no cursing in Littlespace. That will earn you a mouth full of soap.” Kai wrinkled his nose and stuck his tongue out.

“Blech!”

“Is that a hard limit?”

“No, Daddy, just gross.” Daddy laughed and Kai admired him while he did. Marco tended to fully lean into everything he did. He always talked with his hands and anytime he laughed, his head was thrown back and he usually slapped his knee.

“Noted.”

“Is that all the rules, Daddy?”

“For now. There might be more we add on as our relationship and dynamic develop.”

“Are we going to have a relationship?” Kai swallowed as he blushed. He didn’t mean to sound so needy as he said it. Marco reached over and pulled Kai onto his lap making him squeak in surprise.

“Of course we are. My goal is to make sure you never want to leave, ragazzino. I know you only agreed to six weeks but I’ve decided that I want you in my life for all of it.

Not just six weeks.” Kai swallowed and looked everywhere else except Marco’s face.

He had to admire the man for his surety.

Kai just wished that he could believe that he won’t be alone again.

“Hey,” Marco grabbed Kai’s chin and turned his face so he was looking at Marco, “I’ll work to make you believe me. Now that I”ve got you, I won’t let you go, bambino.”
