Idel snorted, “That tracks. I feel like we are back to the normal way people describe Haley’s wolf.” Sharon agreed, “It is more in line with his image.” I laughed, “Yeah, mom came and got me and ushered me out of the house.”
Beta James groaned, “Damn.” I laughed, “I still heard Eric tell Davis that he was an asshole who couldn’t be bothered to understand his own pup.
I know he said something about me though because daddy was mad at Davis for weeks.
I also know Eric hit Davis because I saw his black eye several hours later when the man apologized to me while Eric watched from a distance. ”
Idel whispered, “Azoney above, this tea is piping.” Beta James admitted, “I didn’t know about that time. I do remember that black eye based on the timeline though. I’m pretty sure we thought it was a training accident.”
I laughed, “Nope. It was Eric.” Hexxi demanded, “I need more. Tell me so much.” Beta James chuckled, “Have fun ladies. Idel, am I out of trouble?” Idel agreed, “For sexy fun times later, yes. In general? No. You need to hunt down those early Dylan memos for me to view if you want out of trouble.”
Beta James laughed, “They’re in my files, love.
I’ll easily do that.” Idel sighed, “You’re so lucky I love your dick, or I’d make things harder for you.
” I groaned, “Why would you say that to a man who is like family to me in my presence?” Emmaline snickered.
Beta James laughed, “I am well aware how lucky I am, love. Have fun.” He hung up.
Sharon said, “Ok, tell us more.” I asked, “Is this relaxing?” They all answered simultaneously, “Yes.” Jackie chuckled, “There was once time I know about that happened at a picnic Garrett told me about. Dylan was being himself and Davis sniped at him, so Eric deadpanned at Davis about being bad at his job.”
Emmaline said, “That was so sparse on details I might call you an Alpha blood.” Jackie threw her head back and laughed, “I agree with you, but Garrett didn’t tell me much because I was a pup. I begged him for those details and that’s all I got.”
I gasped, “Wait, I know that one.” Idel shouted, “YES! Thank god. I was going to call James back and tell him that he’d better know if he knew what was good for him.” Idel hugged Emmaline saying, “Your sister in law is awesome.”
Sharon urged, “Tell us the story.” I began, “So, Dylan had done the whip cream water bottle trick to Alpha Nick Kyle. Everyone was laughing about it.” Hexxi yelled, “WAIT!” I stopped and looked at her. Hexxi demanded to know, “What is the whip cream water bottle trick?”
Jackie answered, “You take two water bottles and tie them around a string. You have one on each side then convince someone to see if they can hold the plate of whipped cream with the water bottles.” Emmaline snickered.
Hexxi frowned, “That doesn’t sound like a trick.” Idel huffed, “Nor does it sound hard.” Sharon laughed, “Once you get someone to do it, you cut the string holding the water, and they smack themselves in the face with the whipped cream.” Idel snorted, “Ok, that’s amusing.”
Hexxi hummed, “I feel like Faerie could have a better version of that.” I replied, “Naturally, because you don’t need scissors.” Idel grinned, “Sure, that’s why we could do it better.” Sarcasm. I rolled my eyes saying, “Yeah, we all know you guys are crazy about your pranks and tricks.”
I waved, “Anyway, Dylan got Alpha Nick Kyle.” Jackie interjected, “Who thought it was really funny.” Emmaline cooed, “Aww, Nick is the best.” I agreed, “He is fun. Dad thought it was funny too. Heck, everyone did. Well, except Davis.”
Jackie said, “Yeah, Nick let the pups play that trick on him for months afterward. They thought it was so funny, and he loved how happy they were.” Kiara said, “Of course he did. He’s their Alpha.
” Idel asked, “Did the children not realize Alpha Nick knew what they were doing?” Jackie shrugged, “They were young pups thinking they pranked the Alpha.”
I continued, “Anyway, Davis got on Dylan about how it was inappropriate and asked how he could do such a thing. I can’t remember the exact phrasing of it all.
Eventually Eric made a comment about whoever raised Dylan being a stick in the mud probably had him constantly trying to get him to crack a smile. ”
Emmaline snorted, “I can just hear the tone he said that with.” I admitted, “Davis was pretty pissed about it, but that comment lived rent free in his mind for years. Maybe it still does, I don’t really know.
For years after it though when Dylan would do something Davis would ask if he was trying to make him smile. ”
Jackie laughed, “I heard him ask him that once behind a house and Alpha Eric walked by saying Dylan had his goals set on the Conners family. All because they were more likely to smile and have fun than Davis.”
Idel scoffed, “Literally no one thinks that.” Emmaline whispered, “I think that’s the point.
” I agreed, “It was.” Hexxi asked, “How?” Jackie explained, “Everyone knew how serious the Conners boys were, but Eric most of all. So, the dig is that it was more likely Dylan could make the Conners boys smile than Davis.”
I laughed, “There was one time when Eric made Davis fly commercial.” Hexxi groaned, “I understood none of those words.” Idel said, “She means the airplanes humans fly on.” Jackie snorted, “Not just humans. Those of us Supernatural’s who do not fly or teleport use those planes.”
I waved, “Well, we have private jets. Eric was the first to get one and he never let Davis on his. This time though, Black Mountain was in charge of everyone’s travel.
So, everyone was on the private jet except Davis.
Caleb gave him a ticket that Eric specifically made a point to let Davis know he purchased personally. ”
Idel asked, “Where was the seat?” I laughed, “Next to the bathroom at the back of the plane. Eric also paid extra so that Davis boarded last, couldn’t change the ticket, and had to check his bags. Which happened to get lost going out and back.”
Idel asked, “How does a bag get lost more than once?” I admitted, “Well, he replaced his things and had to check it on the way back because Eric refused to let him put his bags on his plane. Then that bag got lost as well. I always thought Eric paid for that to happen too.”
Kiara snorted, “Thor definitely did. He hates Davis.” I added, “If they weren’t our allies, Eric would’ve killed Davis by now, I’m pretty sure anyway.” Jackie snorted, “You’re sure? I heard stories second and third hand and I know that. Davis skirted the line.”
I agreed, “He definitely did. Dylan ended up taking over more things with Black Mountain, per my dad’s instructions, once he began training. Eric didn’t even care when Dylan made the mistakes Beta’s do when they start training. That’s how much he hated dealing with, or being near, Davis.”
Hexxi asked, “But why does Eric hate Davis?” I admitted, “I doubt I know the full reason.” Emmaline snorted, “Eric’s a good judge of character. Plus, who respects a man who treats his own son like Davis treats Dylan?”
Kiara growled in my head. Idel said, “Damn. Consort Eric is hot.” Emmaline gasped, “IDEL!” Idel asked, “What? I’m mated, not dead and I have eyes. Consort Eric IS hot, but I would’ve never gone near that man with a ten foot pole. Even before he became Haley’s. She’s crazy.”
Emmaline gasped, “No, she’s not.” Idel replied, “To not have a healthy dose of fear for that specific Werewolf, she is.” Hexxi reasoned, “Our cousin never knew his reputation.” Emmaline snorted, “Of course Haley knew.”
Idel winced, “No, she’ wasn’t told about such things.
” Emmaline argued, “Her Hackura family had a folder on Eric for Haley. They put her in Eric’s territory intentionally.
” I replied, “That is all true. Plus, he’s her mate.
So, Eric never hurt her. Even if Haley had heard his reputation before they met… ”
Emmaline interrupted, “We just ascertained that she did. Her Hackura family gave her information on him.” I acknowledged, “I know that, but my point is Haley has Hackura blood. Eric’s reputation would never scare her because of who her brothers are and the whispers about them.
” Idel snorted, “I’ll stick to my wolf.”
Jackie laughed, “Because Beta James is known for being a cute little kitten. Oh wait, no he’s not.
” Idel explained, “My wolf is feared for certain, but not like Consort Eric.” Emmaline chuckled, “Well, we need to get back to drive our mates insane. Hexxi, I’m sure you’ll have an outfit for Phiefan. ” Hexxi clapped admitting, “Do I ever.”
Emmaline grabbed me and I held onto Jackie. My sister in law popped us out. Lucas called, “Baby Girl, you’re back and Kris has the pups. I have plans.” Little did my brother know Dylan had other plans, but those two plans would line up. Just not how Lucas thought this was all going to go.
Kiara linked, “Either Kris knows his surprise is coming later, or mate is surprising him.” I chuckled, “I’m pretty sure I heard Danver say his mom was going to a different supplier trying to get more inventory to keep up with their demand.
Dylan is always planning things out, so he knows that if I do. ” Kiara purred in my head.
My brother wrapped my sister in law up. Travis purred, “Jackie.” Kiara chuckled and suddenly we were in a new outfit. I grabbed Emmaline and Jackie, pulling them away from their mates. I demanded, “Pop us out, Emmaline.”
Lucas asked, “Lacy, what…?” My brother trailed off and growled, “Emmaline, what are you wearing?” Jackie cackled while Travis growled, and Emmaline popped us out with timed precision.
I complimented, “Good job! That was impressive since they nearly got you two.” Emmaline winked, “They definitely weren’t going to.
I have that timed down to an exact science. ”
