Chapter 67

Lucy

I’d never been this content in my life, which was strange since I was outside, completely naked, and covered in dirt and twigs.

But none of that mattered because I was snuggled against my alpha’s chest with his vibrating purr against my cheek, his soul entwined with mine, and his marks on my body.

I’d never heard of an alpha leaving multiple bond marks on their omega, but after years of being unsure if I was wanted, this was exactly the reassurance I needed.

I inhaled, drawing in his scent—smoky leather and pine, as wild as the alpha holding me. We clung to each other, breathing through the tempest of sensations, a storm of love soothing away our fears and anxiety.

“I never knew it could feel like this.” Wilder’s voice hitched, and a tear rolled down his cheek.

I kissed it away, hoping I was stealing all of his pain with it.

“Me, either,” I murmured.

He eventually sat up, keeping me in the protective circle of his embrace.

His knot was still lodged inside me, giving no indication that it was going down anytime soon.

I looked down at where we were connected, fascinated by how stretched I was around him.

There was a slight sting and a feeling of fullness, but mostly there was pleasure and a deep sense of security.

I whimpered when he trailed his finger over my multiple bond marks.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I lost control.”

His expression was contrite, but I burst out laughing because the main emotion I felt through the bond was pride.

I rolled my hips against him and he swore, his huge palms cupping my ass.

“You don’t seem very sorry to me.”

He shrugged with a grin. “Yeah, you’re right.” His expression sobered and he ran his hands slowly up and down my body in careful inspection. “But you’re okay? I didn’t hurt you?”

“You didn’t hurt me.” My fingers ran through his hair. It looked as wild as I was sure mine did. I definitely needed a bath, and I had some scrapes and bruises from being fucked on the forest floor, but even in the midst of his rut, he’d been achingly careful with me.

He let out a shuddering breath, relief rushing down the bond like gentle waves cresting against the beach. When I shivered, he took his shirt off and pulled it over my head, revealing the scars on his chest. I traced them with my finger.

“My second year as a firefighter,” he said, answering my unspoken question.

“It was a house fire and there was a kid trapped upstairs. I tossed him out the window to my crew on the ground, but a beam fell on me before I could get out. Spent a month in the hospital, which fucking sucked. The kid was okay, though, and he visited me several times with his parents.”

As much as I hated the idea of him risking his life, my heart swelled. I skimmed my lips along his scars. “How could you ever see yourself as harmful or dangerous?”

His cheeks flushed, and I grinned. My grumpy mountain-man alpha was blushing.

“Let’s get you inside.” He stood, his hand palming my ass to keep his knot from pulling at me.

Sparks of intense pleasure ran through me as I wrapped my arms and legs around him.

Every step he took brought me closer to an orgasm until I came with a loud cry.

Wilder cursed, bracing himself against a tree for balance as he thrust as much as he could when he was locked in me.

“Greedy girl,” he murmured, voice full of affection.

I traced his bond mark on my hand, making him groan. “Yeah, I’m the greedy one.”

He grumbled something, but we were both pure joy flowing in the bond.

He kept walking, but his unbuttoned jeans kept sliding down his legs as he headed back to the cabin. He was a swearing mess as he held me with one hand and his jeans with the other, as I laughed hysterically.

“Who knew outdoor sex was so undignified?” I snorted as he gave up on his jeans, kicking them off and leaving them on the forest floor.

He just grunted. “I’ll come back for the clothes after I take care of you.”

By the time his cozy cabin came into view, I was half asleep, but I pried my eyelids open at Wilder’s growl.

King and Leo were sitting on the cabin’s porch, waiting for us.

“You’re going to be nice and share, right?” My words were slurred as my eyes drifted shut. “I’m yours, but I’m theirs, too.”

Wilder’s chest heaved as he fought through his alpha’s waves of possessiveness, but his growl subsided and his shoulders softened.

“Yeah, sweetheart. I’ll be nice.”

King and Leo met us in the driveway, and my omega wiggled happily at having all of my guys together.

“You doing okay, baby girl?” King pressed against my back, his heat welcome against my cooling skin.

“Yes, Daddy.”

A burst of amusement shot through the bond, and I pinched Wilder’s side.

Leo kissed my cheek. “Seems like you have a new mark.” His fingers trailed over Wilder’s bite on my hand.

King let out a strangled noise as he brushed my hair aside, finding another bond mark on my neck. “What the fuck? She’s not a chew toy.”

“Don’t worry. I still have plenty of open spots for yours, Daddy.”

He gripped my chin. “Good. Because I won’t last long without my mark on my girl.”

I could no longer keep my eyes open, but I flailed my arm out toward him. “Want to do it now?”

King’s laugh ghosted against my skin. “I think I’ll wait until my baby girl is conscious.”

“Good plan,” I mumbled.

The moments that followed were all a haze—being lowered into a deep tub of hot water, my frustrated whines when my alpha’s cock slipped out of me, followed by firm hands pulling me out of the bath, drying me off, and settling me on a soft bed.

Wilder’s low voice floated through my dream. “I don’t know how much you know, but I’m sorry for the past week.”

“Lucy told us everything,” King said. “If we’re going to be a pack, you can’t just leave when things get hard.”

“I never will again,” Wilder vowed, and I felt the truth of his words through the bond.

Leo gently rolled me onto my stomach and started brushing out my wet hair. “We’re family, which means we lean on each other.”

“You’re not worried about me being a threat to her?”

My brow furrowed at the vulnerability in Wilder’s voice, but it settled back down at his gentle purr.

“Lucy is sure,” King said.

Wilder’s shock jolted through the bond, and my lips curved up in my half-asleep state.

“We’ll figure everything else out as we go.” Leo ran his fingers through my damp hair. “As long as we keep her at the center, we’ll be okay.”

“I see that now. Our perfect girl.”

Their heat surrounded me as they laid down around me in a tangle of limbs, and the last broken pieces of my heart knitted together.
