Chapter Eleven

“I should have told you we were coming here,” Amber said as the couple walked into the cute cottage that was going to be their home for the next few days.

She put her purse on the small kitchen table, sighed, and said, “I’m sorry, Aaron. I didn’t mean to overwhelm you.”

The silence that greeted her had the worry inside the pit of her stomach expanding. She let a few beats pass before adding, “We can go if you’d like.”

“Go?” Aaron said. “This is…awesome!”

Turning toward him, she saw a giant grin etched across his handsome, chiseled face, his dimples on full-display and his dark eyes twinkling.

“You’re really not upset?” she asked, though the answer was obvious.

“Honey, this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!” He hugged her quickly and then began to pace excitedly around the small, open-floorplan cottage. “Did you see those Littles having a water war?”

They’d passed a lot on the short drive from the main building to the cottage, including a group of cuties throwing water balloons at each other. “Yep. Looked like they were having a good time.”

“And what about the ones riding those Big Wheel things?”

Amber laughed. The image of the Littles on adult-sized Big Wheels pedaling quickly down a wide sidewalk wasn’t something she’d soon forget. “That looked fun, too.”

Aaron ran his fingers through his hair. The faraway look in his eyes told Amber he was dreaming of all the next few days might hold.

“Remember what Misty said,” she told him. “There are even some amusement rides in the back. And a theater, pizza place, and all kinds of fun things to do.”

“Ooh, what should we do first?” he asked.

Amber chuckled. “We’ll get to it all. But first, why don’t we go to the store. We don’t have much Little gear, so we need to get you properly outfitted.”

If Aaron’s reaction was any indication, he loved that idea, because he was already going out the door by the time Amber snatched up her purse again and slung it over her shoulder.

A smile turned her lips upward. This trip had been a good idea, after all.

Aaron was already regressing. It’s exactly what he—and his blood pressure—needed.

The store was a small red-brick building that had been built to obviously resemble the main structure, but it was clearly much newer.

“This campus used to be an old Benedictine college,” Amber told Aaron as they walked inside.

“Ah. That makes sense,” he said quietly. “Kind of gives off those university vibes. I wonder if there are ghost monks around?”

She laughed.

It was cut short, however, when a woman wearing only a pink t-shirt and a disposable diaper barreled toward her. Her brown pigtails swayed as she ran.

Behind her, a handsome, strong man called out, “Millie! Stop running inside!”

The Little skidded to a stop just before colliding with Amber. Turning around, she yelled back, “But Daddy! I’m missing the water gun fight!”

“You nearly ran into that lady.”

Millie turned back toward Amber. “I’m sorry, ma’am. I didn’t mean to almost crash into you.”

Amber chuckled. It would take some getting used to, being around Littles. Here she was, with a woman who looked to be about thirty-five, but their interaction sure wasn’t matching that.

None of it bothered her. It would just take some adjusting on her part.

“It’s okay,” she told her. “You know, honey, I think you forgot your water gun, anyway.”

Millie turned back to look at the man she’d called Daddy. “Hey! I did forget my water gun!”

She ran back and took it from his hands.

“Stop running, cute stuff. Or I’ll take you back to our cottage, pull your diaper down, and spank that bottom until it’ll hurt to sit down. Do you understand me, little girl?”

Millie hung her head. “Yes, sir.”

The man approached Amber and Aaron and said, “Hey. Sorry about all that.”

“Quite all right,” Amber told him. “She’s a cutie!”

Her eyes darted to Aaron, and she could tell just from that quick peek that he was shocked at how easily she seemed to be taking to this Mommy business. Sure, she’d Mommied him before, but that was always in the privacy of their own home.

This was different!

Her focus returned to the other man, though.

“I’m Amber.”

“I’m Grant.”

Their eyes remained locked a second or two longer than necessary, and a jolt of excitement surged through her.

Gosh, that man was hot!

Guilt momentarily mixed with the excitement, but it didn’t last long. Aaron would love knowing her instant attraction to this guy. There was absolutely no reason to feel bad about it.

Later, she’d tell him all about it and have a little fun with his reaction.

“And this is my husband, Aaron,” she said, hoping the word husband didn’t deter Grant from flirting with her.

If he even wanted to. Their connection might have only been in her imagination, she realized.

But there was no denying he was holding her gaze. Something was up.

Of course, it stood to reason that he was with Millie. She’d called him Daddy. But Amber had learned enough about the Age Play lifestyle to know that didn’t always mean they were together in a romantic sense. Or they could have the same sort of relationship similar to what she had with Aaron.

Maybe Grant was free to wander within certain boundaries just like she herself was free.

It didn’t matter, she reminded herself. Nothing would come of any of this.

Grant and Aaron shook hands.

“And this is my girlfriend and Little, Millie. But you’ve already met her. Sort of.”

Millie gave a cute curtsey.

“Are y’all just getting to the Evergreens?” Grant asked.

Amber smiled. “What gave us away?”

“Well, your guy isn’t in Little clothes yet.”

“How did you know I’m the Little here?” Aaron asked, not sounding offended but very curious.

Grant smiled at him. “You give off Little energy. Nothing wrong with that!”

Aaron blushed a little, and then just looked away bashfully.

“You know,” Grant continued, “we should get together. I could show you around and these two would have a lot of fun playing.”

Again, Amber’s eyes flicked quickly to her husband, gauging his reaction to the prospect.

It was obvious he had recovered from his blushing just moments before only to fight an embarrassed smile now.

“I would love that,” she answered Grant.

“Sounds great. How about tonight for dinner? Then we can stroll around the grounds, and I’ll show you all the good spots. And these two could burn some energy off on the playground before bed.”

Was Grant trying to get some time alone with her? Or did he want Aaron and Millie to tag along on the tour, too?

Either way, she was in.

Though she kind of hoped it was the former and not the latter.

“I’d love that,” she responded.

They finalized their plans before Grant and Millie left. Once they were alone, Aaron giggled cutely and whispered, “Someone has a crush already!”

Amber was about to tell him it was just a friendly invitation, but she couldn’t resist smiling. “He’s hot. But I wouldn’t call it a crush. I don’t even know him.”

Aaron just grinned wider.

“Oh, you,” Amber said. “Well, I bet your little diaper is tight.” Looking around to make sure no one could see, she grabbed the front of his pants, feeling his diaper beneath them along with something hard pressing back.

He blushed.

“Uh-huh,” she told him. “Just as I suspected. Your diaper is probably going to be all sticky when I change it.”

Aaron didn’t dispute that fact.

The two walked into the store, eager to shop.

But the entire time, part of Amber’s brain was thinking of Grant. And wondering how the night would turn out…
