Chapter 73- Tangled Lies
"What?!" I asked in shock as I stood up from my chair and started pacing around as I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.
" What the fuck is wrong with that woman?! She just left my office and I told her that there wouldn't be any fucking thing between us and now she went to her social media and tell everyone she's my fiancee, the fuck?" I asked in anger,
" I can't let Anna see that, I'm going to be screwed," I said,
" And she's live, I'm on my way to meet her, I'm going to bump into her live and announce myself as the fiance, I've got you bro," he said and I couldn't help but sigh,
" Thank you bro, you don't know what you've done for me, I just don't want Anna to see..."
" To see what?" I heard Anna asked from behind me and I turned,
" Lemme call you back Nathan, keep me posted," I said before I ended the call,
" Hey love," I said as I walked to her. Her eyes were scanning me like there was something she was looking for.
" What were you talking about? What didn't you want me to see?" she asked,
" It's nothing baby, absolutely nothing," I said but the look in her eyes told me she didn't believe me.
" What are you hiding?" she asked as she walked to the table and dropped the documents she was holding.
" I'm just planning a surprise for you, if I tell you, I'll ruin it," I said quickly coming up with a lie to cover it,
" Hmm, a surprise? What surprise?" she asked but I shook my head and took her hands.
" It wouldn't be a surprise anymore if I tell you, so no, I'm telling you nothing," I said and she rolled her eyes, I could give her an even better reason to roll her eyes.
" Whatever, look over those documents, I'll be back for them later," she said as she blew me a kiss before walking out of the office and I released a breath I didn't know I was holding.
I'm going to go crazy if things get out of hand, I couldn't lose her, I just couldn't.
I got back to work trying to bury myself in my work so that I wouldn't think about all the problems going through my head.
I was still buried in my work when my phone started ringing and I quickly picked it to see if it was Nathan.
" What's up? How did it go?" I asked,
" It's been taken care of although she was pissed as fuck when I suddenly bumped in on her but I was able to handle the situation, they now think I'm the fiance so you're safe," he said and I sighed,
" Thank you so much, I owe you one," he said,
" Anytime," he said before the call ended.
I was this close to being busted.
My dad needed to understand that there was nothing he was going to do to make me marry that woman.
Absolutely nothing.

He was hiding something and I knew it. That surprise he was talking about was just a cover up, I could feel it in my heart.
Since that woman walked into his office it was like there was something hanging up in the air. I just couldn't tell what it was but it was there.
My boyfriend was hiding something from me and I didn't know if I wanted to find out what it was or not. I didn't want to push him to tell me, maybe he'll tell me when he wants to.
That was how things like this work right? We're not supposed to hide things from each other.
The office phone suddenly started ringing, bringing me out of my thoughts and I picked it up.
" Hello, this is the office reception, I'm going to warn you that Mr Leonard's father is on his way up," the receptionist said and I felt my heart skip a beat,
" Alright thank you so much for the heads up," I said before the call ended and I quickly looked around my office for anything out of order and there was nothing.
I felt fucking nervous.
I quickly called Cole.
" Missing me already," he said,
" Not now, your father's on his way up," I said,
" What?!" he asked in shock before he sighed,..." Alright my love, thank you for the warning," he said,
" Okay," I said before I ended the call.
I didn't feel good about him coming here for any reason, he was a very scary looking man, I saw how he was at the event and he sends chills down my spine.
The elevator door opened and I knew he was here so I stood up and quickly walked out to greet him.
" Hello sir, welcome," I said and he stopped as he turned to look at me.
There was just something about the way he was looking at me that didn't sit well with me. It was like he was judging me and that made me intimidated.
" You..." he said as he took a step towards me and for some reason I took a step back as my pulse quickened and coldness engulfed me, the man was intimidating.
" Why do I have a feeling that it is you?" he said as he took another step towards me and I moved back again.
The door to Cole's office suddenly swung open and he rushed out, shock written on his face.
" Dad!"
