Chapter 91- Showing off Her Man
We spent the entire Sunday indoors and Cole couldn't get enough of me, any little thing I did was a turn on for him. He was just that attached.
Monday came and as much as he tried to convince me that we should skip work, I refused to listen.
“ For the hundredth time Cole, stop," I groaned as I removed his hand from around my waist. I've been trying to get dressed for work but each time he'd come from behind and start kissing my neck making me confused if I wanted to get dressed or take off the clothes.
“ Fine, don't be a party spoiler," he said and I turned to him with a glare and he raised his hand in surrender before making a zipping motion on his lips.
I finally got dressed in a navy blue dress suit with a touch of white as I applied lipstick. My hair was already tied up in a messy bun, courtesy of my handsome fiance. Didn't even know he could do that.
“ You look fabulous," he said and I did a little curtsy as he laughed.
" Let's get going,” he said.
He held my hand and we both walked out of the penthouse as he closed the door and then we walked to the elevator.
“ So are we still going to hide our relationship in the office?" I asked as I looked at the ring not knowing if I'll still be just his secretary to the outside world.
“ Not happening," he said and I couldn't even hide my smile.
When we walked out of the building our car was already waiting for us as Cole took the key and then he opened the passenger's door for me and I kissed him before entering the car. I didn't care anymore, he was worth it.
His smile broadened as he turned over to the passenger's seat and got in.
“ Are you ready, my beautiful fiancee?” He asked and I nodded before he started the car and drove off.
I didn't feel nervous or scared anymore, rather I felt like I couldn't wait to tell other women off and show them he's mine, especially Mirabel.
When we reached the office I knew what Cole wanted so I didn't bother opening the car as I watched him turn around to my door and opened it as he held my hand and I came out of the car.
I could tell that the people outside were staring at me but I didn't mind, they could stare all they wanted.
Cole held my hand as we made our way inside the building.
“ Oh, you got me so busy I forgot to tell you this but you're having dinner with your friends, don't try to cancel," I said as we made our way to the elevator, I could feel my colleagues eyes on me wondering why the boss was holding my hand.
“ Gosh, do I have to go? I want to have dinner with you instead," he complained as he opened the elevator and we walked in.
“ We have many more nights to have dinner,” I said,
" Oww, I like the sound of that," he said and I chuckled.
" You're acting like a cheerful baby,”
" I don't care, I'm just happy and that's all that matters,” he said.
The elevator became quiet but it wasn't a tense type of silence, it was the type where we were both happy and didn't know how to say the words out instead we chose touch. Cole had his hand holding mine as he rubbed circles on it and frequently brought my hand to his lips to kiss.
The elevator door finally opened and we both walked out.
“ I'll get settled in my office and bring your schedule," I said and he kissed my cheek before walking to his office while I walked to mine.
I dropped my bag on my table as I got settled on my chair. The smile on my face wouldn't wipe off especially when my eyes kept going to my ring.
I arranged the documents on my table before I stood up with them and walked out of my office heading to my boss's office.
I knocked on the door just for fun and I heard him laugh from inside before telling me to come in.
I opened the door and stepped in with a smile, I felt like a girl who finally got noticed by her crush.
“ Your schedule for the day sir," I said and he hummed as he raised a brow at me.
“ What happened to my love, honey, baby?" He asked and I just rolled my eyes,
“ We're in the office, so right now you're not getting any of that, focus on your work," I said and he pouted.
“ You're just so bossy woman,"
“ You love me like that," I said as I scrolled through my tab.
“ Oh yes I do," I heard him whisper.
" So your schedule for today, you've got a meeting with the board of directors,” shit if there was a meeting with the board of directors it means his father might likely be there.
" Cancel the meeting,” he said,
" We can't do that Cole, I already sent a reminder mail on Friday and you know they're all busy men, and I don't want people to think you're not being serious, especially your dad, he's going to know for sure that you canceled the meeting because of him,” I said,
“ You don't know how mad I get when I see him, he's trying to ruin my happiness and I can't take that,” he said clenching his fists in anger.
" Hey, listen, don't let him get to you okay, it's too early to be in a bad mood,” I said and he nodded as he tried to smile.
“ Fine," he said with a sigh.
I told him about other engagement we had for the day before I walked out of his office after convincing him everything would be fine.
I sat down on my chair as memories of the dinner we had came rushing back, the way his dad talked to me, looked down at me. I didn't want to see him just yet. I wasn't ready but for Cole I had to be strong.
But I couldn't deny the fact that I was already dreading the meeting even before it began.
