Chapter 26

CASH

The Arizona heat hit me the second we stepped off the bus at the hotel the band was staying at, but it wasn’t as bad as I had expected.

Silas slipped his sunglasses on and looked over at me. “Holy shit, it’s hotter here than in Vegas.”

I chuckled. “Dry heat is easy. Try standing outside in Texas in the middle of August with a hundred percent humidity.”

“No thanks,” he grumbled.

“You’ll be there at the beginning of August, though,” I reminded him. The date was like a neon sign flashing over our heads because, as it turned out, that was the end of our six weeks together.

The plan was to hop on a plane in Austin and head back to Boston, but given everything that had happened with Britt, I had no idea what I would do when I got there. I hadn’t even thought about it because my ex’s brother was distracting me to the point I’d forgotten about her and the mess waiting for me. Or maybe it was a case of “out of sight, out of mind.” I was certain that after my time with Silas was finished, everything would hit me like a ton of bricks. And all of that would be happening sooner rather than later because Surrender only had five more shows left before Silas and I parted ways.

Rina came over and handed us our keys and we headed for our room.

“Yeah, and thank god for air conditioning. So, what’s the plan?” he asked as we stepped onto the elevator.

We had the day off before the band’s show the next night in Phoenix, so it made sense to get out and do something.

“I’m guessing something with AC?” I teased.

He laughed. “One hundred percent. You ever been here before?”

I shook my head as the elevator ascended. “Not really. Been through Arizona on the way to Vegas once but never stopped to see anything.”

Silas pulled out his phone, searching for something. “We could check out Sedona.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t that kinda far?”

“Two hours, but that’s nothing, and we have all night.” He looked over at me. “Unless you have a better idea.”

I didn’t have one that wasn’t staying in the hotel room and not leaving until he had to.

Before I could say anything, his phone buzzed. He glanced at it then looked my way. “Jesse and Olivia are looking for something to do too. Should we invite them?”

The idea of spending the whole day alone with Silas was tempting, but Jesse and Olivia tagging along would help keep that invisible line in place.

“Sure,” I said. “I don’t mind.”

But I kinda did.

The drive to Sedona was beautiful. Jesse had gotten one of the SUVs the tour company had for Jasper and the crew to run errands, and he drove while Olivia scrolled through her phone in the passenger seat, making final preparations and stuff for their upcoming wedding after the tour ended. Silas and I rode in the backseat and, just like on the bus, we were close enough that our outstretched legs pressed together at our thighs and neither of us moved away.

I stared out the window, pretending not to notice, but the warmth of his skin against mine was impossible to ignore.

At some point, Olivia passed a bag of chips back, and Silas took one before nudging the bag toward me. When I went to grab one, he pulled the bag back and smirked. I shot him a look, but he just winked and popped a chip into his mouth like nothing happened. He knew what he was doing and thinking about his smirking lips wrapped around my dick was enough to give me a semi.

I knew I shouldn’t have those thoughts running through my head, but he tempted me in a way that made me feel alive. I’d always been an all-work-and-no-play kind of guy, but with my rock star client, the lines had become so blurred that I couldn’t see straight. I knew I should stop things from happening again, but I wasn’t sure I could resist him.

Or if I wanted to.

I continued to look out the window and try to make sense of it all. Once we made it to Sedona, we found a small hiking spot and got out, leaving the AC behind.

The massive red rock formations jutting out against the blue sky looked almost fake. It was stunning, and we spent the afternoon hiking and checking out the viewpoints.

At one point, we stopped at a lookout spot where a few tourists sat cross-legged, eyes closed, palms up like they were meditating.

Jesse nudged Olivia. “All right, who’s ready to have their chakras realigned by the vortex?”

Olivia glanced at Silas and playfully said, “Pretty sure Silas’ chakras are beyond saving.”

Silas scoffed as though he was really hurt before stepping forward and closing his eyes dramatically. He lifted his hands, palms up. “Shh … I’ve been practicing this stuff since leaving rehab. I can feel the energy being cleansed of all my bad decisions. ”

I snorted. “Gonna need a stronger vortex for that.”

Silas grinned at me. “Damn, Cash. You’ve got a lot of faith in me.”

I smirked. “Just teasing you.”

We laughed and took in the view for another minute before moving on.

At some point, Jesse and Olivia wandered off to check out another rock formation, leaving me and Silas alone near the edge of the cliffside.

Looking out at the valley, he let out a slow breath. “Dang, I get why people come here.”

I peeked over at him. The sunlight hit him just right, making his hair look almost white against the blue sky. He looked peaceful.

“It’s something,” I agreed.

He turned toward me. “Kinda nice getting away for a bit.”

I knew what he meant. Away from the band. Away from everything else. Just a break from reality for a while. Even though it had only been a week, being on tour was a lot, and we were all feeling the long hours. I had to think the guys felt the burden even more so given they had to put on their shows, so getting away to the red rocks was exactly what Silas needed. Even if it was only for a few hours.

“It is.” I gave a small smile.

Silas’s mouth twitched like he wanted to say something else, but Jesse’s voice called out before he could. “Hey, we’re heading back. You two ready?”

“Yeah, we’ll be right behind you,” Silas replied.

I started walking, but he stayed put. When I glanced back, he was watching me. “You coming?”

He took a hesitant step toward me. “I want to kiss you.”

The words hit me square in the chest. My pulse pounded hard enough that I swore he could hear it. I swallowed, glancing toward the trailhead where Jesse and Olivia were waiting. “Not here.”

Silas took another step toward me. “Why not? They won’t see.”

I licked my lips absentmindedly. “They could.”

“Would it matter?”

“It does while you’re my client.”

He tilted his head. “Then you better stop looking at me like that.”

Like I wanted him.

Like I was two seconds away from saying screw it and giving in.

I exhaled sharply. “I could say the same for you.”

“Then just be quick.”

“You know I won’t be able to stop once we start. Let’s go.”

“Fine. I can wait.” He finally started down the path. When he caught up to me, he nudged my arm. “Bet you ten bucks Olivia makes us stop for iced coffee on the way back.”

I huffed a laugh. “Not taking that bet.”

“Coward.”

“All right. Hope you’ve got cash.”

“I’ve got you, don’t I?”

We stared at each other for a moment and before I could reply, we reached the others. Olivia was looking at something on her phone and didn’t look up before saying, “There’s a coffee place a few miles from here. We should stop.”

Silas turned to me with a shit-eating grin. “Told you.”

I sighed, pulling a ten from my wallet and shoving it into his hand. He pocketed it without hesitation.

Jesse unlocked the car, and we all climbed into the same spots as before. We each ordered coffees at the spot Olivia had chosen and then headed back to Phoenix.

It didn’t take long before Silas bumped my knee with his.

He didn’t move away.

Neither did I.

Jesse turned up the music, and Olivia started talking about their wedding again. The landscape blurred past us in streaks of red rock and desert sky.

I kept my gaze out the window, pretending I didn’t feel the press of Silas’s leg against mine. Pretending I wasn’t already thinking about what would happen when we got back to the hotel.

Because I knew exactly what was going to happen.

And I wasn’t going to stop it.

By the time we got back to the hotel, it was late.

“It’s been a long day. I need a shower,” Jesse said, walking into the lobby.

Olivia yawned. “Same.”

We all headed toward the elevator and stepped inside once the doors opened. Jesse leaned against the wall while Olivia pressed the button for their floor. When the doors opened, they said goodbye and stepped out to head toward their room.

Silas exhaled dramatically as the doors slid shut and we were alone. He leaned back against the mirrored wall and let out a small chuckle. “If I have to hear Olivia talk about their upcoming wedding anymore, I might lose it.”

I grinned. “I heard planning a wedding is a lot of work. Can’t imagine doing it while on tour.”

“I guess.” He chuckled. “But does she really need to ask us our opinions on flowers? Like any of the guys care what our boutonnieres are going to look like.”

The elevator doors slid open on our floor, and we walked down the hall to our room. I barely had the door shut behind us before Silas grabbed my T-shirt and pulled me in, his mouth claiming mine.

“I told you I wanted to kiss you,” he murmured against my lips as his fingers slipped under the hem of my shirt.

I gripped his hips. “And now you are.”

He smirked. “And you’re not stopping me.”

A little part of me was saying I should stop us but I didn’t want to. No matter how much I tried to tell myself that he was a client—and my ex’s brother—so we should be strictly business, I couldn’t deny him. Something in the way he looked at me had my heart racing and my dick jumping.

“I’m not, but I think we both need a shower.”

He pulled back slightly. “Should we save water then?”

I chuckled and tore off my T-shirt. “Not sure how much water we’ll save, but yes, let’s try.”

Silas flicked on the bathroom light and turned on the water. As I slid my shorts and boxers down, my cock sprang free. When he turned around, his gaze dropped, and he licked his lips. The way he looked at me, only made my cock harden more.

“Fuck,” he groaned and hurried to get naked too.

With a smile, I stepped inside the shower stall and gave my shaft a few light tugs as I watched his length bob with his movements. My mouth watered and, at that moment, I wanted to taste him—all of him.

When we had fooled around the first time, it had been his mouth on me, and while I’d wanted to reciprocate, I hadn’t been ready to drop to my knees.

Now I was.

But first …

“Let me wash your back.” I grinned, stepping under the spray to get my body wet.

“Wash my back?” Silas cocked a brow as he stepped into the shower. He slid under the water, then we switched places and he faced me.

I squirted some hotel shower gel into my hands. “Yeah. Turn around.”

He did as I asked, and I started to rub circles on his broad back, feeling his sculpted muscles under my touch as the warm water mixed with the soap. I went lower, washing every inch of his backside, and when I got to his ass, I couldn’t wait any longer.

“That’s good for now. Turn back around.”

He didn’t hesitate and took a step closer to me so the spray of the water wasn’t hitting his head. “Now what?”

I swallowed. “Now, I want you to come in my mouth.”

I dropped to my knees and took his big dick into my grasp.

“Shit,” he moaned as I pumped him. “I love how you jerk me.”

With a few more tugs, I leaned forward and took my first swipe of his tip. The saltiness hit my taste buds and once again, my dick jumped. The way I was throbbing between my legs had my free hand sliding down and working myself in time with each bob of my head as I took Silas into my mouth .

He slid his fingers into my wet hair. “That feels so good.”

Fisting the base of his cock, I twisted my hand as I sucked him, taking him as deep as I could. His crown hit the back of my throat and when I peeked up at him, his eyes were closed and his head was thrown back, which only urged me to go harder and faster.

Silas’s groan filled the small, steamy room. When I popped off his shaft and took his balls into my mouth, he hissed and grabbed at the shower wall as though he needed support to keep from falling.

“I’m about to blow. Are you sure you want me to come in your mouth?” he asked.

I pulled back and looked up at him. “Yes.”

Then I took his dick into my mouth again and didn’t stop until he was shooting his load down my throat. I swallowed it all. Once he was done coming, his cock was still hard when it slid from my lips. I wanted to tell him I’d keep going because seeing the pleasure on his face made my stomach drop with a rush of ecstasy, but before I could say anything, he urged me to stand and then took my mouth with his.

With our lips together, he spun me so my back was against the wall. Our tongues lapped together as he slid his hand between us and fisted my pulsing shaft.

“My turn, but I want you to fuck my mouth.” Silas dropped to his knees.

He didn’t hesitate to take my erection into his hot mouth. I groaned and my eyes rolled back into my head as he sucked.

And like he wanted, I grasped the sides of his head and fucked his devilish mouth. He hummed, the vibration sending a little zing up my spine, and I knew I wasn’t going to last long. While I had been blowing him, I had also been working myself, and now his mouth was doing things to my dick that brought me closer and closer to erupting with each slurp.

“I’m … I’m gonna come,” I panted.

Silas didn’t stop. I held his head as he took a few more pulls, and soon I was squirting my cum into his mouth, while my ass cheeks clenched and my eyes closed.

When I was spent, I slid out of his mouth, and he stood. He pressed our hard bodies together and took my lips with his once more. Our tongues twirled together and I could feel how hard he was still, and that only made my dick want to go again.

I pulled back. “If we don’t stop, I don’t think we’ll get any sleep tonight.”

“And that’s a bad thing because…?” He grinned.

“Because we have the NA meeting to go to in the morning before we do anything else.”

He growled deep in his throat. “Fine, but after the concert tomorrow, I wanna do this again.”

It was on the tip of my tongue to tell him once again we shouldn’t, but I couldn’t. Whatever was happening between us felt right. Maybe it was because it was our little secret. Maybe it was because we were behind closed doors and I was able to forget about the outside world.

Whatever it was, it had me nodding. “Deal.”

Except after we showered for real and crawled into our beds, he immediately got out of his and slid under the covers next to me. It didn’t take long before we were using our hands and mouths on each other again until we both passed out.
