Chapter 11
i might get blocked, but i said what needed to be said.
Nova
Savannah and Amir are an experience. They have this once in a lifetime love and allowed me to simply be in their orbit. Our nightcap was the perfect way to seal the night. The ride home is quiet, my lips are still buzzing from the goodbye kisses we shared when they walked me to the car.
I’m dropped off in front of my apartment building and proceed to my floor, silently praying I don’t run into my neighbors on the way up. I sigh in relief when I shut the door behind me, clicking the lock into place.
My hands tremble as I retrieve my phone from my purse, dreading my final words to the lovely couple. I contemplate what I should say, but settle for something simple.
Me:
Y’all can sleep now that I made it home safely.
Thanks again.
Amir:
Thanks for letting us know. Night!
Savvy:
Thanks again for everything. Take care, Nova.
Me:
You too. Good night!
Savvy:
Good night, Baby Girl.
My cheeks heat at her calling me that and all the filthy words they spoke tonight invade my thoughts. After all, my boldness is what made them choose me, so against my better judgement, I type another response.
My thumb hovers over the send button and I press it before my thoughts get the best of me. I might get blocked, but I said what needed to be said. I agreed to the rules, not expecting for this to be the best night of my life.
Me:
I respect tradition, but if you ever want to rewrite it, keep my number. Take care.
Everything I asked for, they delivered, giving me a glimpse of what it’s like to be theirs for the night. Savannah and Amir have raised my standards, proving that partners like them don’t only exist in books.
I have never been happier to be wrong in my life.
